LISTEN. Now, it's been a minute since I've nodded to naughty language but I have no self-control…read morewhen I speak about the Screamin' Chicken Diner... IT'S SO F***ING GOOD! HOLY CRAP BALLS! After a morning in the mounts visitng wineries, we were hungry. Borderline hangry, but for sure starving. A friend that was with said "I think there's a little cafe down in Gaston, let's check it out!" and we did! First, when you walk in, you're greeted warmly and they got us seated quickly. Menus were provided and then we heard the magic words... "What can I get you guys? Coffee? Water? Tea? A beer? A glass of wine?" A WHAT? Ma'am! It is 11:00 AM. Did you just offer me BEER and WINE? Yes, yes she did. And yes, yes we accepted. So let's pause. If you've not thrown back a glass of white wine with eggs, you're missing out. Seriously, rethink your life and try it. You're welcome. This is adulthood and how we survive it. We order. Annie's Delight, Scrambled-Egg Breakfast, Chicken Fried Chicken, and a 2-Egg Breakfast. When I say holy-crap-ton-of-food, know I'm not joking. We literaly ran out of table there was so much food. Now we all know that myself and my crew have a healthy appetite but good lawd havemercy... never have I ever... the food was stupid. Just supid good. Ridiculous. Each bite it got better. Burned the crap out of my mouth but the wine healed it quickly. $25 for the biggest breakfast I've ever had and a huge glass of wine. Seriously, you can't beat that with a pole. The service was awesome... the coffee that accompanied the wine and water never ran dry and was refilled to maintain being piping hot the entire visit. The ambiance is kitschy and perfect. The staff are locals who obviously take great pride in their little Cafe and they SHOULD! They have worked hard to own the pride in there little gem in the heart of Gaston. Can't wait to go back. I've swept all the brunch places in all of Portland trying to find anyone who can do a solid Chicken Fried Chicken that well... needless to say, I've failed. Give the Screamin' Chicken a chance... you'll thank me later!

I received one of the biggest prices of chicken I have ever even! The food is just like grandma used to make. Delicious and giant servings. By the way, always get the biscuit for a side. The waitress was awesome, told us stories of how the chose the biscuits and was quick with refills.

I can't say enough good about how cooperative and helpful they were. According to my friends who bounced by the sale to check up on things, they were every bit as professional and dialed in for sale attendees as they were for us. Estate liquidations usually have bittersweet causes, and our situation was no exception: it really makes a huge difference when the resolution is handled so well. I hope that when my time comes Hidden Treasures is available to deal with my stuff as well, because I have every confidence they will do a great job!

We were staying in McMinnville and Sherry was kind enough to pick us up from our airbnb. The tour ended up being just the three of us so that was a nice surprise. She drove us out to Carlton and we went to three different and very cool wineries. Sherry also took many photos of us throughout the tour and posted on her FB. At stop 2 she provided us a snack lunch of spinach dip, breads, cookies, and fruits which was lovely. Overall it was a fabulous tour and if ever in McMinnville I would highly recommend to book a tour with Embrace Oregon! Thanks again Sherry!!

Weeks before our trip began, Sherry went out of her way to help us plan the perfect day -- recommending wineries based on our preferences and arranging a perfectly-timed itinerary that allowed us to visit four wineries with wonderful views/Pinot. She promptly picked us up from our AirBnB in McMinnville. She was kind enough to take photos of us throughout our relaxing day, and she was incredibly knowledgeable about the Willamette Valley region and wines. The van that she transported us in was very spacious for our group. She provided us with water bottles, a special sweet treat and allowed us to charge our phones. Most importantly, she was extremely kind and a pleasure to spend time with. We so appreciated everything and can't recommend her enough!

** Closing Business Alert** I feel like I need to bump up…read morethe que for this brewery experience as when we went there this past weekend we were told that the brewery was going to permanently close in a few days. I believe October 31st is that day when that is going to happen so I figured it was time to get a review in and anybody that may have an interest in going by reading my review and has the ability to go they should probably do it in the very near future. We had two different beers here and they were solid. We didn't feel like that this was the best brewery in Forest Grove but if you are doing a brewery tour in town it is indeed worth the stop. The location is cool as it's right downtown and what looks like to be in a historic building so it will be sad that it will become vacant. But we were told that it was landlord issues as the rent that was going to be charged should they continue to stay would have been unreasonable. Well, now onto the beer. The first beer we had was a Japanese Rice Lager known as the Wakizashi Lager. It was good but we have had more memorable ones in the recent past so it wasn't the best we have had by any means . But no complaints with it. It was just our preference with the flavor profile layout. Flavor highlights with it are floral, sweet, crisp and a light rice flavor. It was also a very light bodied beer. The other beer we had was the Jormungandr which was a red ale. This one was good too. Again not as memorable as it could be but nothing to specifically complain about. Flavor features with this are caramel, malty and sweet. The body of the beer is nice and smooth which was nice and pleasant. Sad to see another brewery close but there are a few others to visit in Forest Grove so it isn't deprived completely of craft breweries in town.

Personal favorite is the Helvetia Son of Peach. Food order took 30 minutes but for a Saturday we didn't think that was too long. Pool table, foosball, ping pong, and other games on hand to play. Ordered the vegetarian burger first 3 bites were bun, a little pasty I think the patty as too fat, flatten it a bit and it would be fine. Delicious sweet potato fries. A local favorite!
