They had a little sandbox area that the toddler enjoyed. Onto the wines: we sampled a variety of whites and pinots. The samples were generous and they offered additional pours. Tasting fee is reasonable and waived with the purchase of 1 bottle, so my husband and I bought the 2 pinots on the tasting menu. Overall, great family and pet friendly winery that is casual and won't break the bank. Will definitely return on my next wine tasting tour.

Then I found out I would get a raffle entry with donating ten cans of food. I was sad to see so few towing food with them to donate. Walking up and being handed a gorgeous glass of rose was pretty amazing. It was so wonderful having people rushing to great each person leading them in. I was glad I got there early so getting around was far easier. The drive up is a bit long, steep and gravel. I did not use it but a member later showed me the commode trailer as I was taking a snap shot since I laughed at the 'luxury toilet' label. They are air conditioned and definitely quite a step up from a blue box situation. For the event I was able to try 2 types of pinot noir, their sparkling and their chardonnay. Delicious and I was in shock to adore their chardonnay because that is not a wine I enjoy often. The food was also lovely. I was a bit surprised as to how many children were present as even the popcorn seemed not something children would enjoy. The grounds are also very adult with gorgeous views but with lots of gravel around, the kids were running through the tents since there was no where else to be.

On warmer days, the large deck is the perfect place to sip the day away! But we are all here for the wine, and with Lynn Penney-Ash as the winemaker, you know the Pinots are going to be fabulous. The founder, Dr. Madiah Revana, has also acquired properties in Napa and Argentina, yes, Argentina, for their soil variety and climate. So if you are a fan of the bigger, bolder reds like me, you will have plenty of options. We were hosted by Michael who was personable, engaging, and full of interesting facts. I've been to a hundred+ wine tastings, easily, so learning something new was both surprising and appreciated. Our table was set for us with the appropriate wine glasses and a menu welcoming our party by name, always a classy touch. The first glass, their Signature Chardonnay (2023), was delicious! Not heavy on oak or that California buttery taste, it was light and crisp, very pleasing, very drinkable. We moved onto Pinots, a variety they are known for, and it was easy to see why. Then moved on to some bigger CA reds. On Michael's recommendation, we ordered a pizza which was very tasty and went well with the wine. We ended up purchasing several bottles, not out of pressure, but because we absolutely loved their wine. There are close to 900 wineries in Willamette Valley, and growing, we are always looking to try new places to experience which is how we ended up at Alexana. In our group, we are all members of several, yet we were all tempted to join this winery because they are a stand out in all of the ways that matter. It may be time to leave a club to make room for Alexana, a true gem!

There are a few older pinots that are really good, there's the malbec and cab from their sister wineries that's also really good, and then there's a good number of just okay wines. I'm not upset about it, but I just don't think this has the power of some of the wineries out there!

My mother and I had the opportunity to do a tasting flight. The wines were all good and enjoyable. Ian was our host, and I absolutely loved him. He sat with us for most of the tasting giving us information about the winery, wines, and background. He listened to our stories and shared his experiences in the wine world. By the end of the tasting, I felt like I was with a good friend. The winery itself is very cozy. We sat on a very comfortable couch surrounded by rich imperial forest green walls that mixed well with the woodland decor and Christmas lights. This is the best time to experience the winery. Tastings are $30 or $35 but are refunded with a two bottle purchase. I was hosted a complimentary tasting through a special Facebook offering this month. I would definitely visit here again. This place definitely sparked holiday magic.

Looking over the vineyard sitting by a big fire drinking one of their famous wines just can't be beat. Snuggle up with a blanket outside and taste the many delicious wines they have to offer. If the outdoors is not your favorite go inside to the very cozy lounge area and sit by the beautiful indoor fire and have your tasting there. Listen to Dave as he explains the interesting history of each bottle that you taste. It's just delightful, chill and charming. The wines are excellent and very well priced!! The tasting is also one of the best prices in the area, only $25.00 which is a bargain! You can pay big bucks for tasting at some of the other vineyards and not get near the quality that you can here. They do not sell any food but you can bring your own!! In the summertime enjoy the beautiful landscape overlooking the vineyard and have your wine outside. Every season is great!! Call ahead and make a reservation to guarantee the best experience ever!!
