After reading all of the great reviews on this place, I couldn't believe I hadn't visited yet! I saw on Instagram (@latteliving) that they were on the shortlist for Now Toronto's Reader's Choice Award and decided to visit the next day. As soon as I walked in, the two baristas working there started up conversation right away. They were friendly and really helpful. I got a cortado for the first time in my life because I had a feeling it would be amazing. I wasn't disappointed. Before ordering, I was asked which beans I wanted my coffee to be made with. There were three choices. I ended up getting the ones he recommended. He also asked for milk choice. It was ready before I knew it, in a glass cup, with a pretty design on top. The first sip was different to me, because I always get lattes of course, which are sweeter. But, right away I got used to it and really appreciated the great taste of the coffee. Well done. There was a standard bitterness, without being sour or burnt. They made sure to check that my cortado was good. (It's amazing!) They also have water and cups at the side, both free and "for 10c a cup" which made me chuckle. All in all, great coffee, great atmosphere, and great baristas. They're definitely doing it right. Drip coffee was way too spicy, think it was an Ethiopian blend. Didn't taste like coffee at all, tasted more like some kind of tea. Not my thing. If you want normal flavored coffee this may not be your place. Pastries were good. Pricy. No bathroom at this location and tiny space, not much seating and seating is not comfortable. Accepts cards. We walked into this tiny (but really cute) place and all the employees were bursting at the seams with happiness! They all welcomed us with shouts of joy and one guy was even wearing a banana suit. I guess it was the shop's birthday and they were giving out drinks for free all day!! We were stunned and it took me a second to figure out my drink. They helped me figure out what I'd like best and then made it quickly, offering me different toppings for my chai tea. Needless to say, their energy made our day and we left a big tip. read more

Tourist to Toronto but instantly felt like a local at this little gem. Baristas are insanely friendly, immediately disarming and very considerate. I ordered a latte and settled down with some work to do. In my corner I could hear the baristas welcoming every customer by name. Upon finishing my latte and debating another, I was surprised to find my new friend Allen with another artisan latte, on the house! A bit later, he was back with a glass of water and a smile. Recently, I've become an avid coffee drinker. I've started grinding my own beans and using an Aeropress to make my own cup of coffee every morning. I was scanning through Yelp one day and came across Fahrenheit. At $12/half pound of STRAWBERRY hinted coffee beans, I knew that these beans must be exceptional and I had to visit. The baristas were super nice and friendly. They quickly explained the different beans and such. I opted for the Ethopia beans - they have a hint of strawberry. The packaging even has the roast dates on them, so you know they're fresh af. With each purchase of beans, you get a free americano or espresso - I chose the iced americano and it was really good. While waiting for my drink I asked the barista if he had any tips/tricks with the aeropress (b/c I'm a noob) and he gave me some good advice (i.e. using the stirring rod to gently breakup the clumps). Also, I noticed that they grind a crapton of beans/cup - 32g as opposed to the recommended 16g - just goes to show that they don't skimp out on their coffee. Over the past few days, I've been grinding up these beans, and they've allowed me to make the most delicious cups of coffee I've ever had. I use a medium grind then brew with 80 degree celcius water over 1 1/2 minutes using the Aeropress inverted method. The beans are amazing; I will be back. read more

So when I came to Toronto for the weekend I made it my mission to visit as many of the coffee shops as I could, and I would say I did a pretty good job of that. Out of the 5 we made it to over the weekend Fahrenheit Coffee was by far my favorite, and for a lot of different reasons. Firstly the barista's were the nicest I have probably ever met. While we were in line I witnessed him happily explain all of the different drinks to the people in front of us in such a helpful way. When we ordered he took general interest in striking up conversation and it was really nice. After getting coffee we continued to talk with him for a little bit about or weekend, coffee, and photography and it was overall just a really pleasant experience. After we left I decided that we would come back the day we left to stock up on coffee before the long drive back to Michigan. When we came back a couple days later the same barista remembered our names and was just seemed very excited to chat and ask about or weekend, it was incredible. For locals that have to pleasure of being able to be regulars here you should feel blessed. Secondly, the coffee was outstanding. I would say where I live its relatively rare to find a place that offers cortado's and rarer still to find a place that does them well. Faranheit's cortado was spot on. We had taken some beans to go as well and I thought that they were well roasted and I enjoyed them thoroughly at home. read more

This is pretty much the best coffee I've had outside of Seattle and a few spots like Philz in San Francisco. Just fantastic job pulling the shots and (if you want) educating you about the various types of coffee that they have. This is literally my favourite place in town for coffee. The ambiance is small and neat, the music and people there are fun and relaxed and they always have a good selection of pastries to go along with your coffee. Blueberry muffins absolutely to die for! It is located in a cute little street Lombard St where they usually shot movies because it resembles of some streets of upper west side of New York. Their capuccino is amazing and I always have a cup when I pass close by. Their prices are also in line with Starbucks which makes it great to opt for them instead of the Big companies! What an amazing cafe in Toronto!!! The menu is small and simple if you're used to a Starbucks, but the difference is in the quality. You get to pick your beans with each drink, and they have 3 options to choose from. We both picked the Brazil, as it had notes of peanut butter in it. The end result was probably the silkiest and smoothest mocha I have ever had. Expertly crafted with beautiful latte art on top. If I lived in Toronto, I would come here everyday. The prices were awesomely affordable, too! We didn't try any baked goods, but they really all looked amazing. The workers were super friendly. The place is tiny, though, with maybe only 8 chairs, and even then it's a bit cramped. However we took ours to-go, so it was all good. We were in Toronto for only 3 days, but my husband and I went out of our way to go here because we have never tasted espresso from a champion barista before. We thought we would drop by for a quick latte before driving out and ended up staying 3 hours just chatting with the wonderful baristas and trying different espresso drinks till we could vibrate across the floor instead of walking. The drinks we sampled ruined us to all other coffee shops. Sameer is more than an artist, he's a scientist. I've been meaning to check this place out for a while, and I finally did! It was smaller than I expected, but all of the hype I had heard about this place was definitely true. Simple decor and bar-height benches with stools to seat maybe 10 people max (very European, which I loved), not to mention an awesome gear clock that I just could not stop staring at! The staff were really friendly and helpful. They were patient when it came to explaining what the differences between certain drinks were, and they weren't pretentious or obnoxious about it, the way some staff can be in some nicer cafes. I came with family and we ordered a latte, a cappuccino, a cortado, a macchiato, and some snacks between the 4 of us. I tried all of them, and they were out of this world! The staff also gave us a choice of bean (there were three choices), explained what the differences were between them, and what their recommendations were as well. I can't mention how great the staff were. As a coffee lover and general chatty/curious guy, I was asking them all kinds of questions, and even though they were busy with customers, they were able to answer my questions and were super nice. Fahrenheit also offers barista classes once a month or so, which I'm hoping to check out in the near future. Overall, the quality of the coffee was superb, the cookies and snacks were delicious and unique (I recommend the "kitchen sink" cookie), and the service was excellent. I would have picked 6 stars if I could. This coffee experience is amazing. From the bold flavours of their select roasts to the subtle flavour notes they describe as you enjoy your favourite beverage, their coffee is yet to be beat in my mind. While the coffee is the best I've tasted, it is not the only reason I go to Fahrenheit. Every time I enter, I'm greeted by one of the baristas or Sameer (the owner) engaging me as soon as the door opens. Lively music, the occasional staff karaoke performance to the tunes in the background, and attention to detail and quality with everything they serve, makes each trip to Fahrenheit memorable. Wow! This coffee joint is worth checking out. I love that they have beans "on tap" allowing customers to select which type of bean they want for their caffeine of choice. I went with the diablo for my cortado - its bold, its rich, it has a hint of mocha - everything a gal could ask for in a drink. What makes this place extra special is the staff - funny, attentive and energetic. If the caffeine doesn't wake you up, the staff will with their wit. Great decor too - I want to steal their clock. Small coffee shop but has the most delicious coffee!! Had the Brazil in the form of a latte and was blown away by how smooth it was!!! The place is tiny with no more than 10 seats with limited table space, so it's definitely more of a pick up and go type of place. If you're lucky to find a free spot, the decor is simple and quite bright. However, there are so many people coming in and out so it might be hard to have a conversation. So this place really is good. Their latte was smooth and made just right. They even left you choose one of three beans. My husband's london fog was equally good and just sweet enough. The space itself is really small but super popular. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and they have small rushes every 10 mins or so. I was eventually able to score a seat and they have free wifi but it's too bustling and tight to study. This is the ideal neighborhood pick up and go spot! I wish I lived closer! read more

I chose the Ethiopian one for the latte and the Brazil one for the mocha. The mocha one is delicious! Tasted like a medium blend so not too dark or bitter. I had heard about the hype of this place, and wanted to check it out for some time. I have to say, getting here is not the easiest part, as it's out of the way from my usual stomping grounds, but it was well worth it. When you walk in, you are instantly greeted by the friendly (almost overly friendly if that's possible!) staff, and they make you feel right at home. There was a line up even at noon when I came in, and it looks like they have several of their own roasts ready at any one time. I got the dark roast, and had one of their chocolate truffles while I waited. There is one row of window seats and a few island seats, so you better be quick if you want to sit in. I had my coffee to go, and it was exactly what I was looking for. Your experience will likely vary depending on which barista is in at the time. If you don't know their names, don't worry, their portraits are on the blackboard, so make sure to get to know them all. read more

I went back here this weekend and had a pretty great time. The staff are friendly, the cafe was busy but the line moved quickly, and our soy lattes were delicious. I still love this place, and I still wish I was closer to them because I'd drink their coffee more often. Staff are so nice, and seem to like working there and with each other. That makes a huge difference to the whole coffee experience. There are no vegan baked goods, but it doesn't matter, because their coffee is good enough to stand alone. (though you know... Disclaimer: I am not a coffee drinker. I can only comment on the atmosphere and service. With that said, Farenheit Coffee made me want to try to get into the caffeinated world! Very small storefront, but such a fun atmosphere. The staff and Sameer gave off such a positive vibe and you could tell they all have a lot of fun at work. I sat there for a few hours doing some research on my laptop and the way they greeted each customer made me wonder if they were friends with all of these people! I stayed til nearly closing when they apparently regularly make fresh chai. They gave me a cup to try (it was so delicious) and Sameer chatted to me about coming back some time and he'll help me ease my way into coffee. Airy, light, serious-about-coffee spaces often leave me feeling out of place. I'm not hip enough, not coffee-geek enough, not edgy enough, and I say cool and awesome way to much to be liked. But none of that holds true here. Learning once again, to not judge a book by its caffeinated cover, I found the staff at Fahrenheit to be extremely cool, friendly, and sheesh, they were baking croissants when I arrived. Ye be warned: There's not a whole lot of room to sit, and with it's lack of outlets and the high bar stool seating, it wouldn't be my first choice to crack open my laptop, but to catch up with a friend, dream the world away in a notebook or just stare off into space, you'll feel right at home here.
