This is the first time I've used a home cleaning service. I booked a deep cleaning and two follow…read moreup appointments. I thought the value for the deep cleaning was time efficient and they did alright work. Sometimes you just need a clean slate, and they definitely got things into a good state. Edit: Actually - I had someone do a deep clean one time before, like several years ago. That's beside the point. That's where the praise stops, though. Unfortunately, the toilette was clogged after the cleaning. After the second cleaning, the bathroom in my other toilette was clogged. I felt kind of rude asking about the first so I decided to refrain asking about the second. We use a bidet and no one is stuffing loads of toilette paper down the drain. Plus, during the first incident no one had used the toilette in that bathroom. I am nearly positive they put paper or chemicals in the toilette. The follow up cleaning jobs were really just supposed to be maintenance (floor mopping, wiping down bathroom surfaces). Both instances my entire house was reorganized more or less. All of my recycling and compost were dumped in the garbage. It is absolute chaos. I lost of prescription medication planner for a week (it was sitting in plain site and later found wedged behind a coffee maker). Both times dirty gloves and rags were draped over clean knifes in my kitchen. Both times I've had to thoroughly wash the knifes and knife block. The dishwasher was filled with additional dishes (packed over the full capacity) and just left in place. No idea what was actually clean. The sink itself was emptied of dishes queued to be washed, but not actually cleaned? It made no sense. I figured they would be moving things out of the way if you need to wipe down a surface, or pushing things to the side. However it went further than that. I still can't find my most frequently used cutting board. I am sure it will appear in some random cupboard. I am fully capable of cleaning my own home, and to a higher standard of quality. The entire point is that I'm only one person with limited time to do so. I suppose I'll just need to make that time more of a priority. Of course things are cleaner, but over 2.5 or so hours with two people I just expected things to be more thorough. Not a huge deal at fave value but this is all sort of compounding to be frank. In short, weird as hell experience, confused by the results. Don't recommend.

The booking was easy and transparent; and our communication was effective and clear. Annis was very accommodating even with my last-minute appointment change. She agreed to reschedule me in a short notice. On the date of our appointment, they arrive early with 3 personnel and effectively finished the job in about two hours. I'm particularly impressed with the thoroughness of their cleaning in the bathrooms, oven/stove, refrigerator and stairway steps. The quote described in details of what it included in the price, and they performed exactly what they said they would do. The price was very reasonable and transparent. I would call upon them for my future cleaning and I highly recommend them to my tenants as well.

Annis was extremely responsive before booking and made the entire process so easy and stress-free. The team arrived right on schedule and did an outstanding job on my move out clean. After living in the apartment for a while, the baseboards had collected dust and there was natural buildup in the kitchen, but when Annis and her team were finished, the apartment truly looked brand new. They also service the Providence area, so I highly recommend booking them for your next cleaning. I'm only moving out of the area; otherwise, I would absolutely be using them for regular cleanings. Supporting this small local business was such a great experience!

I hate to write a bad review, but have been pushed to the brink on this one. We used Vida Verde a…read morefew times and felt great about our house cleaner and good enough about the job she did. We then had to cancel our service because we needed to make some budget cuts. We asked for our key to be returned when we cancelled our regular cleanings and offered to go wherever needed to retrieve it. We have emailed our house cleaner twice over several months: no response. We have also called the main co-op line: no response. I absolutely support the eco-friendly and labor-friendly policies. But am very uncomfortable that we've never been able to get our key returned.

I've always been extremely reluctant to hire cleaning services ever since I read Barbara Ehrenreich…read moreon the amount paid to cleaners out of the amount paid to services. I have hired independent cleaners, but their work was often irregular and so were their hours and reliability. This is why I was so glad to see Vida Verde. The pricing is extremely reasonable, and the rates are quoted immediately, with adjustments to be made if necessary given the layout of your home. (There are assumptions about the size when you say X # bedrooms and X # baths. I'm sure if I had a huge layout that happened to have X # bedrooms and X # baths, we'd be renegotiating.) But then they make a quote and stick to it for weekly, biweekly and monthly cleanings. There are add-on fees at reasonable rates for things -- $20 to clean out a fridge, $5 to strip and make up a bed, $10 to do a load of laundry, things like that. It makes it easier to both see what is and isn't going to be done and easier to specify which extras you'd like and how much more you should pay. (Certainly when I've hired cleaners in the past, I've asked for these things, and I've given them more money that week, but it was always a nebulous, well, how much is stripping and making a bed worth? What about if I've stripped the bed and the sheets are already sitting at the foot of it, but I wanted to let the mattress air out for a couple of hours?) Valdirene has been coming to our home now for five months. She's reliable, neat and friendly. Her work is excellent. Clearly, the co-op chooses good cleaners and knows how to protect their name and ensure that their cleaners are good at their jobs and can keep referrals coming in and conversely the members of the co-op benefit by doing good work -- a clear indicator that this is, in many ways, an actual cooperative. A first cleaning may involve some toxic chemicals. They freely admit this. That's okay. Most of us do not use Seventh Generation everything all the time anyway. (I'm as Cantabrigian as they come, and even I freely admit to having Formula 409 in my house.) However, afterwards, they come equipped with their own green, non-toxic cleaning supplies, which is not only better for clients but better for them -- I hate to think of what working with toxic stuff all day does to workers. I have not seen any compromise in cleanliness, so the supplies they're mixing up work. On the whole, I find Vida Verde excellent at what they do, I'm satisfied that they seem to be a working cooperative, I don't feel any twangs of my overly hippie conscience at endorsing them, and I hope that they are empowering workers as much as they seem to be and that other co-ops like them spring up among other communities that also have large numbers of domestic workers, to give them an alternative to exploitation by corporate services.

Created a note to self: great Mother's/Father's Day gift and for occasional reset cleans. Two cleaners arrived on time and quickly scheduled after getting a quote. Very responsive and reasonable for a 4hr job, 3 bed 3bath home. They are a small local business so we like to support them, but we almost want to hide this gem rather than give them this review! We are aware of recent news, so we didn't expect them to just ring the doorbell without confirming location and time, so they were also very precise during booking and confirming arrival. We do hope they get kind clients because they are trustworthy and so sweet. They also provided a detailed quote, which was honored. No surprises, except you didn't even know you could use it or needed to clean that spot! Very meticulous, easy to work with, adaptable and does their job well. We would use them again in the future!

Long story July 15…read moreMe: Contacted this company on July 15 through Yelp for a deep cleaning/ move in service for our newly purchased home, for service to be done on July 21. AKS: Replied that they had availability for that day at 7am. Me: Asked if 8am would be better for me, since my flight into Boston doesn't arrive till 6:45am. I said everything is cleared out of house and gave them all the specifics of the house (3 bedroom, 2bath, 1000sq'). Asked them can they still do the cleaning and for a quote. AKS: Have availability , but before I can confirm appointment and quote , will need complete address and what time you'll be at property to provide access. Me: Gave them address and said to be safe, 9am. July 16 AKS: Thank you for confirming details. I'm sending you estimate for deep cleaning for Tuesday July 21 8am. Please confirm how we will access property. Once you approve estimate and access , we can reserve appointment. (Along with this request they sent me a "Deep cleaning checklist" , but no estimate). Me: Ask if they sent estimate AKS: I apologize, accidentally sent you a message intended for another client. Here is your estimate ( attached was the estimate) Me: Does estimate included cleaning inside appliances and cabinets. and interior windows. AKS: Yes (sent along with whole list of inclusions) Me: great, I'll make sure someone is there by 8am. Do you have email address or phone number to contact you? AKS: unfortunately July 21 is no longer available. All communication must remain here on Yelp. Me: After giving all the info and agreeing on a date, now you telling me July 21st is no longer available. Not good. AKS: If you would like to move forward with the cleaning, send all info ( name, address, email, phone, method of payment, etc). I will then confirm appt. We can schedule cleaning at 7am. This only time I have available. Me: (sent them all my info again and asked for a contact #)) Most of your replies through Yelp go into my junk mail, which I don't check often. So still waiting for confirmation from you. AKS: Please check payment method listed in Yelp app. We don't process payment through Yelp app. Cash only. Please give name and number of person who will give access and payment. Please confirm through Yelp. Until we receive this info, confirmation is not booked... Let me know. Me; I will pay you in cash. Am I scheduled for July 21? July 17 Me: I'll have someone there at 7am. See you then. AKS: We have not finalized appt for July 21. Need to confirm if property is furnished or empty? Move in/move out or another type of cleaning and which additional services needed.. These details were never finalized. And because you will not be present, I will not be able to accept payment. For this reason I will not be able to accept this job. Please continue your search with another company through Yelp. Me: Very bad communicating with your company. All the information was given... I am not sure if it's dealing with Yelp or AKS, but totally unprofessional. Maybe Yelp uses Ai to answer questions. I even left phone messages with AKS , but no return call. All these back and forth messages were through the day, not let answering me right away. Maybe AKS does a good job of cleaning, but communicating with them is horrible. I will never call them or use Yelp to get references. Sorry for the rant. But am pissed off.

Luis the owner was not accommodating and was quite condescending about the situation, directly saying that it was the bike's problem if it broke so easily. Review of Outstanding Cleaning (Veronice Biscalquim, 617-368-0067,…read moreoutstandingcleaninginc@gmail.com, based in Somerville, https://www.wewillcleanit.net/ ): We have an important, big family event coming up and because my mother fell unexpectedly ill, we ran out of time to clean before guests arrive. We had used Outstanding Cleaning before when I was undergoing cancer treatment. They did it at no charge, and did such a good job, during that time! So, I definitely wanted to give them the business again. As before, Veronice sent three extremely efficient, thorough workers who were both friendly and very responsive to our needs. Because of our situation, we didn't have time to tidy up entirely before the crew arrived. They worked alongside us, as we tidied up another room! Partway through, they consulted with Veronice, and with her approval, they went the extra mile to do deep cleaning, giving extra time because it was needed. We are extremely pleased with the results, which are like night and day. Everything sparkles! Veronice is very responsive to client needs on cleaning and timing. Her rates are very reasonable and she is extremely fair. Her workers are honest and gracious and reflect the protocol she sets. I would highly recommend this cleaning company.
