I discovered Blue Macaw about four years ago and have been buying nothing but their coffee ever…read moresince then. They are local to us, so I have gotten to know the owners during that time, they are hard working and sincere people who make sure I am happy with my order every time. I see that each coffee is roasted every day, always super fresh and the place- the whole neighborhood for that matter- smells so good. I usually get the medium roast washed Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, but I have enjoyed a dozen or more of their other coffees. My new favorite is Bali Blue Moon, but the Brazilian Yellow Bourbon and Costa Rican are high on the list. They have recently gone to all organic products, which is reassuring. I can't say enough good things about this business and David and Darling are two wonderful people to buy coffee from. Each night as I go to bed I am looking forward to a cup of their coffee in the morning.

The coffee beans smelled really good, and seemed like they had the right beans to make a good coffee, they just don't care enough about how they brew it. But if you like your coffee with some sugar this place is for you!!! I got the vanilla honey cinnamon, at first it seemed too sugary, but second sip tasted good. I would get it again. Donuts are usually a sweet I skip , but my friends on the island said I have to try them and I am so glad I did. I got a glazed and a king cake donut. ! What?!?!? I also got another donut and a bun that was not sweet. I have been wanting more of this donuts since I finished them. They are a very different texture and I love it. Not greasy at all! They have other pastries too, but I came after most of them were gone. There are no machines making anything here....and you can taste the difference. They have a small dine in area so most people come in for takeout. The staff was patient with a first timer and helped me choose the best that was still available. The secret here is to watch the hours they are open and when they are, come early for the best selection. Located in a small complex so parking may be a problem, but I will walk miles to get to this place... that is after driving 7 hours to get to the island! Every time I see a donut place I crave these donuts. I have not had any other donut since because there is just no comparison.

My husband had the jalapeño, bacon, cheddar cathead biscuit with the addition of eggs, bacon & cheese. He wants to go back tomorrow for another one!! Coffee is served in jadeite mugs. They also have fresh squeezed orange juice. When my friend was commenting on the homemade juice, the guy making it brought us a small glass of juice to sample!
