In our initial discussion, we were both transparent - I wasn't there to shop and Gaby explained that she wasn't going to beat online factory prices. I received a beautiful pair of earrings as a birthday gift from a dear friend. She told me if I wanted to exchange them for another pair I could. Well, I went to Facets and it was the best experience. I couldn't have been treated better! Gabi attended to me like I was the only customer in the world. I wanted something large because my hair is cut short. She obviously went to "earring land" and brought out the most magnificent pieces! One pair (the ones I ended up getting) grabbed my eye and I knew right away, they were for me. The design is exquisite! The exchange was made and I left the store very satisfied. But it doesn't end there. I showed the earrings to my friend who originally gave me the gift and she loves them. Then I showed them to two of my gay male friends and they made a big noise about how beautiful they are. When a gay man tells you your earrings are gorgeous, you know you've been complimented! When I wear the earrings, I feel like one of a kind and special, just as I did on the day I made the exchange. Lenny helped me design and custom make EXACTLY what I was looking for. Not only were Lenny and the other employees helpful, but it seemed like they really cared. Terrible. Terrible.TERRIBLE place. RUN as far away from this place as you can. These Mo-fo's told me they'd pay $250 for a White & Pink Diamond Jack Kelege Ring that had a melt value of $2,300 and said they were only doing it as a courtesy!!!??? What? Then they pretended not to know who the Ring's maker was. The girl literally said, "You keep saying that name... is it supposed to mean something?" Not to mention I had to call multiple times AFTER I dropped my ring off just to get this bogus price. Every time someone picked up the phone, no one knew where my ring was or who the salesperson was I left it with. Crazy stuff man.... I started to think maybe I was in calling a parallel universe. I had a really good experience with Facets. I had a gold ring of sentimental value. It was too big for my finger in every way. I brought it to facets and requested having it split in two and resized. They did a wonderful job. The two new rings are absolutely beautiful and it didn't break the bank. Facets is an amazing store based on the experience I had recently. Everything in the store is beautiful, unique, and high end. And they do everything custom. I explained what my wife likes and the person helping me, Gaby, immediately knew what to do. She brought out a bunch of chains that could be used to create a custom pair of matching bracelets for my wife, and really seems interested in creating the perfect custom piece given what I said about my wife's taste. She ended up cutting two beautiful bracelets from a long white gold delicate chain and they ended up being beautiful and exactly what my wife wanted. Then I needed to have it re-sized and they did it quickly and with no charge. The store is the perfect place to get something really special and unique, because a) all the product is beautiful and high end, of course, but more importantly: b) the service is amazing because they are knowledgeable about different tastes and styles and can really help you to achieve exactly what you were imagining. Even for a clueless husband who only remembered one off-hand comment by my wife; she immediately knew exactly what my wife was into and crafted a custom pair of pieces that were a 100% match for what my wife was imagining. also keeping in mind my modest budget. I can't say enough about Facets! I brought my engagement ring in to be restored. This ring was my grandmother's from 1947 and it needed prongs restored to ensure the diamonds were secure. I met with Irina who explained exactly what had to be done. While I was there she had the master jeweler assess the work that needed to be done and was very transparent about the cost. I knew I was leaving my ring in great hands but I have NO idea how high quality the results would be! I literally cried when I picked it up. My advice would be to get a couple of opinions before considering repairs to jewelry. When I came to pick it up a ring I had brought in for resizing, Facets told me that the prongs were so worn down that I was in danger of losing my stone. They told me I urgently needed $850 worth of repairs. This seemed very high to me so I took it for a second opinion at a different trusted jeweler. The second jeweler looked very embarrassed that someone had said that the prongs needed repair because the prongs were perfectly stable, the stone was not loose, and they did not advise any repair whatsoever. I do believe that Facets probably thinks they're doing the right thing. But I also think it is possible that they advise extra repairs that might not be necessary. I do not enjoy posting reviews like this because I'm sure the people there are just doing their jobs. However, when I came in a second time because my resize was still too large, the employee directly asked me to take down my review. She did this both over email and in person. I feel uncomfortable that Yelp allows business owners to interact with reviewers on the site and I will not read or respond to any replies to this review.
