I texted for a same day appointment and was given a time slot of 1:30 PM.. I was also notified that this would be a 3 hour appointment and to block off my time accordingly peri'm accordingly. I have 2 small children and I let them know that I will have to hire a babysitter.. When I was 5 minutes away from the business they texted me saying it would be better to show up at 2 PM. Seeing that I had hired a babysitter I could not afford to leave the institution at 5 PM and get home by 530 PM. My real problem with this situation is that I was not notified until 15 minutes before my appointment that I should show up 30 minutes later. This review is long overdue. I come to this place for my gorgeous lash extensions (Sherin, Sue, Corinna - have definitely touched my lashes; good or bad conditions). Sometimes when I have my natural lashes shedding season or when allergies are bad and I tend to pick on my lashes and have bald spots, but they come to the rescue and makes my lashes look gorg and full (regardless on what style I feel during that appt - full, hybrid, natural, wispy...you name it). I've never had a microdermabrasion facial before, but Yang made my first experience great! She is very sweet and explains what she's doing as she is doing it. She also will give you recommendations on your skin type and how to care for it (she recommends daily SPF 15 for being indoors near windows and daily SPF 30 for being outside). The products smelled lovely and my skin was buttery smooth afterwards. The whole procedure took about 1 hour 15 minutes. It includes a face, neck, shoulders, and upper arm massage. She is very gentle with extractions! There is a facial steamer that she uses at first for about 15 minutes and it can get a little suffocating since it's so hot, but it's bearable and is necessary to prepare your skin. My previous review was specifically about Angela and the eyelash extension service she provided. She is no longer working for Face-N-Body. (Note: I followed Angela to her new business even though her place is much further away for me.) After going to Face-N-Body for a few years, I noticed that the place was getting dirtier and more dilapidated. The chairs in the waiting area are ripped and peeling and the sheets old and stained. Angela managed to keep her room as clean and tidy as possible under the circumstances. I religiously went every 3 weeks for a refill, but if I had to go in 1 day early or late, I would always be penalized and charged much more. For instance, If I had to go in 1 day early, the following week I would be charged more for coming in past the 3 week point. I was told to avoid getting the new extensions wet for 5 hours (standard is 24 hours), but later found out it was a management ploy to make clients think that Face-N-Body had better products. I know of other bad business/management practices so I'm not going back to Face-N-Body. read more

Finding the right lash technician isn't easy, but Sherin at Face-n-body does an amazing job. Upon walking through the door, I was greeted immediately and was asked if I wanted anything to drink. Within minutes I was brought to a private room where the lashes would be applied. Throughout the entire process, Sherin was very calm and collected. She didn't rush through my appointment. She made sure every lash was applied correctly. One of my eyes was more sensitive to the glue being used, and Sherin followed up with me the next day to make sure my eye was ok. I have been going to Sherin for lashes now for over a year and am pleased to report I'm a very happy, albeit addicted, customer. Sherin is meticulous not only about how your extensions look, but also about maintaining your natural lash growth and health. Her extensions still look great after three weeks, so you know her products are good quality. To top it all off, her pricing is very reasonable! 5.0 stars for Sherin on lash extensions. I also just tried a micro dermabrasion facial from Wang and so far am very pleased. She did the least painful extractions I've ever experienced to the point where I almost fell asleep (usually I'm flinching in pain)! She was also very good at walking me through what she was doing at each step, the products being used, etc., and she clearly knows her stuff -you can tell from her own beautiful no make-up skin. I like that she was generous in the advice she gave for my skin, even recommending products and services that they don't sell at Face N Body (which salons almost never do IMHO). I think she could improve on her massage skills, which felt more like gentle petting than a massage, but overall I was very happy with the facial. 4.5 stars for Wang for facials. Do your research and go somewhere else also read the form they make you sign apparently they don't guarantee the Lashes lasting . saw Angela on Tuesday February 20th for a fill I brought my own lashes and when I asked if she could used mine she said the volume she didn't Guarantee them staying and they wouldn't be responsible for them falling off so I said what about the singles ? She said they should be fine but that she would be mixing their own just Incase I've been getting my lashes done for over 3yrs so I know what long vs short looks like . Like she said LOTS of the lashes felt off most being the long ones . I texted letting them know my lashes came off with out a natural lash attach and they got me back in on Thursday the 22nd again with Angela .. I was hesitant but they said that the technicians do their own fixes ( fair enough ) saw Angela again and she saw me and said "they still looked good " once she taped me she said " ohh I see you lost a lot " at this point she was just using their lashes which should have stayed in for idk 2 weeks before a fill but on my way home I had lashes all over my face which I thought maybe the ones that didn't really attach during dinner lost more lashes by just blinking later that night more lashes came off by 10ish pm I texted them letting know that I needed a refund since I lost about 30 lashes in a 10hr period ( sent pictures ) they said a manager would call me back after the weekend . Tuesday comes around I have 3 lashes if so I text them letting them know I need a manager to call they they say that someone will call me by the end of the day . Cynthia calls me and says what the technician ( Angela ) has told her I try to get a word in and she says you may not talk until I'm done WTF !! I'm beyond mad after that. She should have taken my side of the story compare to what Angela said and made a decision after that . At this point I'm done with the conversation I want my money back and leave it as is . She says she has to talk to the owner for a refund after letting her know my side and that she would call me back .. calls me back and says owner wants to do my lashes for free .. after I've been blamed and made feel as if it was my fault the lashes didn't stay and had gone back to get them done twice for the same problem no way in hell im going back I tell Cynthia this and she says ok my boss said she can refund half since YOU SIGNED THE FORM AND THE FORM STATES THAT WE DONT GUARANTEE THE LASHES LASTING so if they fall off in a day they aren't reliable for it . I am going to tell you my story that starts here... I came here 1.5 years ago for a lash extension. It was my first time. A lady with absolutely NO ENGLISH started working on my lashes. She taped my both eyes under the very bright light and I should not open my eyes during the whole time! Imagine, someone who you cannot communicate with you and tapes both of your eyes, turn on a very bright light on your closed eyes and starts putting the lashes one by one forever! I started asking questions, how long does it take? Can I have water. She did not respond because she could not understand. After 30 minutes of torture, I told her I have to open my eyes, I was getting claustrophobia she started talking but I could not understand, she yelped and I guess she meant you have to close your eyes. I started to panic because I had the "urge" to pen my eyes I was going crazy by the whole thing. It is not easy to close your eyes taped under light and someone slowwwwly put one lash on your eyes and you cannot communicate with them and not knowing what is going on. I had to endure the whole thing in silence for 2 hours? I sat and started removing the tape because she wouldn't help me. She went and called the manager and thank god she can speak english. I told her I am getting panic attack and claustrophobic and I need to open my eyes. long story short, I had water that I asked many times, I sat, I was sweaty and stressed... we finished but with such a disastrous process..I left and after this incident I literally got claustrophobia! I did not have it but thanks to their lack of understanding of how to handle the situation, I cannot stay in gondola, or any small spaces any more! something in my brain is triggered. Claustrophobia in eyelash extensions happens. The person should be able speak English in case the customer need help or has something in her eyes. For god sake the customer is literally blind for two hours! Have some common sense. You cannot put a silent person who doesn't understand English to work on your delicate eyes for 2 hours with eyes shut and taped! If they are professionals, they talk to you all the time to distract you, they tell you how much is done and they can communicate, they ask if you are OK or need water or something because it is a long procedure. These guys are not good at all! It can happen to you as well! go somewhere else and make sure the person is able to communicate with you. read more

I've been dabbling with the idea of lash extensions for a long time and decided I'd get them done before a long international trip - mostly for ease of getting up in the morning, rolling out of bed, and being on the go. I decided to try them out for 2 weeks before I left on my trip and got them filled right before I left. I went short and natural the first time just to get used to having them on - brushing them out, sleeping on my back (the hardest), and avoiding my eyes when I washed my face. For my trip I decided to go longer and curlier - it's an extra cost but so so worth it! I came back from my trip and got another fill and after that decided to take a break. I could go between 2.5-3 weeks before reallly needing a fill, but the longer you go between the more $$ it costs. For all my appointments I went to Angela and she's very thorough! The process takes a while but I'd prefer that they take their time. It's pretty relaxing and you can just lay there and take a nap - I usually end up falling asleep. The lashes themselves are good quality and feel light and fluttery. I've seen some where the lashes get easily tangled and look heavily glued on. These are great if you're looking for a quicker way to get ready in the morning. They're a bit pricey to maintain but if it's in your budget I'd say go for it. I'll definitely be getting them done again before I go on another trip! Be sure to call ahead to make an appointment as they do book up fast! Tip: be sure to wash your hair before you go or the night before your appointment. Also go makeup free and with a clean face as it's recommended not to get your lashes wet for 24-48 hours. read more

Overall, I had a great experience with Cecilia getting the 6D eyelash extensions. She was kind, patient, skillful, and very outgoing. The process took about 1 hour from start to finish, and we chatted the entire time. Being able to have a natural and genuine conversation with my lash expert helped make the time go by quickly. I'm pleased with the way my lashes turn out and I really hope to preserve them for as long as possible! My only qualms about Face-N-Body was the price and cleanliness: $165 for the 6D lashes (first time clients only) was justifiable at the time, but I doubt I'll be paying that much for a full set in the future. If you plan on coming here, just be weary that you'll be paying $200 (normal price) plus tip. Lastly, I was a bit off-put by the state of the shop, especially the ground. Since customers do have to remove their shoes while they are on the table, I cringed a bit when I had to retrieve my phone from the adjacent chair sans-foot protection. I think the establishment could benefit from a bit of sprucing up (vacuuming, sweeping, deodorizing) between clients. That being said, I'm really thankful my lashes turned out the way they did. So I popped my facial cherry last weekend by a woman named Angela. When I first saw her face I thought to myself she looks like a beeeeep! I guess I should stop judging people because she is genuinely a sweet sweet gal. She greeted me with a great big smile and checked me in. I was directed into this somewhat small yet cozy room. Angela asked if I wanted the bed warmer turned on. I was like "whaaaa? y'all city folks be fancy with them technology",in my head of course. Note that it was freezing outside. I practically melted onto the bed. She started off with steaming my face. Then began to extract all the gunk out of my face. I have moderate acne. The kind of acne that is under the skin that won't leave unless extracted. From what I can tell Angela really did a good job with the extraction.After that she did some more stuff. Honestly I don't remember because I was busy yapping away. I learned so much about my skin. I asked Angela so many questions and she answered without hesitation. She also recommended me a lot of skin care products for my face. I absolutely love how she did not push or force any products on me. So I did not feel guilty leaving with out purchasing a new moisturizer or cleanser I didn't need. After Angela was done I asked for the bathroom, Angela pointed down the hallway to the left. I strolled down the hallway and glanced into all the rooms, because I am just nosy like that. All the rooms were organized and cleaned. Small and cozy just like the room I was in. After I was done with my business (mostly examining my face, fixing my hair and reapplying my make up. I gotta look good for my man ya know) I walked back to the front desk. And as I passed the room I was in earlier where my facial cherry been popped I see Angela changing the sheet on the bed. I'm glad to know that they change the sheets after each customer. I never believed in paying for a facial when I could do it myself at home for 1/4 the price. Oh boy was I wrong! I left with baby butt soft skin. Oh my god. Never have my skin been so soft. Not having the best sense of the direction, I missed my exit (travelling from San Jose to Palo Alto) and was completely lost. While frantically searching for the street, I received a phone call by Sherin Lee. She did her best to help me find my way back but I was hopeless. LOL She kindly asked if I wanted to reschedule since she didn't want me to lose any time on my massages. So we rescheduled to June 19 at 1p (today). This is my first time getting facial/massage and fortunately, I was in safe hands with Sherin. She was very kind, knowledgeable, and informative about what she was going to do and what products she was using. In this way, I was well aware of the procedures and that made me comfortable. She was very helpful in answering my questions and concerns which definitely put me at ease. I chatted with her to better a get a sense of who she is, since this is my first time getting a massage and I did not want to be misled. Thankfully, Sherin is a very honest person; she is an experienced professional, she genuinely cares about her clients, and is very passionate about her line of work. The place was very clean and cozy with relaxing music playing in the background. If you miss the kind of facial service in Asia, you got to try Sherin's service! == For massage service == Same; the first time I schedule a massage spa ($120/hour), I couldn't believe that kind of "soft touching" can be called a massage! Of course, that place was very nice, have some calm scent and peaceful music... but, I can just get this kind of environment at home by myself! I came here to get my tissue deeply massaged! Not to pay so much for a person to just touch my skin! Err!!! I learnt my lesson; after that I've only been to foot massage places and always asked for the "strongest" masseuse, but sometimes, these massage hurt me in a bad way (I received massage service at least every month when I was in Taiwan so I can tell the "good pain" and "bad pain"). Sherin is a totally different story. She is very professional. She is able to locate any knot easily, and knows how to resolve them. She also knows acupuncture points, their places and functions. Came in for the first time and I LOVED it. It is your money's worth ($50 for facial wax) but my skin is clean and I did not get ANY reaction. I would definitely come back thanks to Daziah A.!
