Pushy sales tactics. Cult-like culture. They give incentives such as free body screens, etc if you leave a 5 star review.

They have all old cracked yoga mats, a mix of lights that are flickering or no glass covering. There is only one stair climbing machine that is very old. A number of pieces of equipment had no signs or the adhesive left from where the sign once lived. I wanted to like this gym but yesh, you're going to charge me $70 for this? (Or whatever it was bc there was no document with the prices, it was all verbal.) High price and a shit box, not worth it. They really need to upgrade equipment or cut prices.

Two may be a bit generous for this sweaty little gym on Main Street. Sweat (so appropriately named)…read moreis depressing. There always seems to be a leak somewhere in the ceiling, there's always a TV, stationary bike, or treadmill on the fritz; and ever since opening the Pole Dancing studio (brilliant idea by the way) downstairs, which always seems empty, all of the equipment has been crammed onto one tiny floor. I'm basically paying (alot I may add) for convenience. I love the fact that I can walk to the gym and not hassle with the stress of parking and traffic. Some more positives: they have an amazing personal trainer on staff. Although working out with him felt like an hour long torture session, I was pleased to see that after a few months I could finally do more than a few girlie push ups. I can't recommend the personal trainer here enough. Additionally, although Sweat is filled with young Manayunk peeps, it somehow avoids feeling like a meat market (surprisingly so). So although I feel like I'm paying close to a fortune to work out here, perhaps Sweat isn't so bad..

The culture is not inclusive, and the environment is highly politicized: pro-gun, anti-BLM, and anti-mask propaganda everywhere. I found a love for Xfit over 3 years ago @ another box…read more Having absolutely NO experience in any sport and ALL the experience in "habits that are bad 4 me", I jumped in on a personal dare as I hit major turning points in my life. That's where I met James, Hannah, & Tracey:). Over time, I realized I enjoyed James' discipline & coaching above the others because it focused on personal best and not making it a contest. He also gave me a taste for the "Strongman" which our former box seemed to shy away from. I was thrilled when they opened their own place & happily followed them along (with my dog, Mango). Crossfit & Strongman is not elitist athleticism as some would believe or advertise. It's more evolved than that for me. It's mental therapy from my work & my life. It's physical therapy. It's anger management. It was the "Goldilocks" in my fitness where all my attempts with other gyms & fad diets failed. So much $$$ wasted... if I had only knew then what I know now, right? FFE is community, family, people who throw down, cheer each other on then sometimes throw back a few beers after (or ciders). It's balance because life is about balance. They keep healthy realistic. Mango & I can't wait to meet all the new members. See you all out on the floor in "recovery" position;). #SweatAngelsEverywhere

It's 45 minutes of High Intensity Interval Training and I always feel good about completing the workout when finished. The coaches are super friendly and are present during the workout to make sure that your form is good and to be available if you need any assistance. I did join F45 after the stay at home order was lifted and they do an amazing job making sure all members are socially distanced from each other. All members are required to wear masks when in the building space working out. It is extremely clean in the facility and I appreciate that especially during these times. They also offer different types of add ins like body scans which will give you in depth detail regarding your body metrics. They also have challenges that you can join where they put you on teams to help push your workout/health goals. F45 has been an amazing experience so far. I would suggest calling to book a class!

Coach Paul is extremely knowledgeable and patient and Coach/Owner David Lee programs workouts that will align with your personal fitness goals (whether you want to get bigger, smaller, faster or stronger.) I've dropped in and competed at other CrossFit locations, but I can tell you that the community and energy that you will feel at CFMY is incomparable. Whether you're a Division I athlete, or just an average Joe that want's to be the healthiest you, all workouts have modifications so that you can avoid injury and get the most from your workout. I highly recommend CFMY to anyone that's looking to take their fitness to the next level. I heard about CFMY from a friend so I decided to give their OnRamp class a try and it changed my life. Coach Paul and and Coach/Owner Dave are some of the most knowledgable people in the crossfit world. Dave's program makes you work hard and pushes you close to your limit so you're always working and sweating. Paul makes sure that our forms are correct. He values form over numbers any day of the week. They know that bad form leads to injuries so CFMY emphasizes form over anything else and that is when you know that you're at a good gym that cares about you. In addition, the CFMY community is one of the best there is. It's like a family that keeps pushing you to be the best that you can be. The comradery between the athletes and the coaches is seriously one of a kind and nothing comes close to it.

Some of our classes are just a few people and the personalized instruction is something you can't get at most gyms without paying for personal training (now that's expensive). We were crossfit newbies and Jim went over the basis with us so we would be ready for class. Our first few weeks were tough and it continues to be but in just a short amount of time we can both feel the difference in our energy, stamina, and strength. Meg is an amazing coach and knows just how to push you to be your best. She cares about your success and health.
