All it took was one class and I was hooked. Sometimes I go twice a day. I highly recommend F45 to anyone looking to challenge themselves.

The specialized "cycles" are really what sets this gym apart. You get own bespoke weight and rep…read moreschemes for an 8 week (in the case of strength cycle) period. Even though it's a small class, you get incredibly specific feedback on form. No ugly lifts allowed. Period. It's just like having a personal trainer, but Hayden and his team are better than any personal trainer you'll find. Every single class feeds off the work in the previous class. What you lift Friday is based on your performance on Monday and Wednesday, all individually tailed from your coach. (As opposed to say an oly wod where you snatch one day and front squat the next, and tracking and weight/rep adjustment is mostly on you). If you want to get measurably stronger with professionals guiding you *specifically* every step of the way with constant personalized feedback, this is the quickest way to do it. The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and each very personally accomplished in fitness. (Shoutout to Danielle and Ryan -- thanks so much!)

It was my first HYROX class, and her confident, clear guidance immediately put me at ease (I was nervous at first!), especially as she walked us through equipment I'd never used before. She created an energized, supportive environment that made it easy to connect with others, particularly when we broke into smaller groups. Nicolette strikes the perfect balance between being tough and supportive, encouraging you to trust your body while ensuring you feel safe throughout the class. I also appreciate the clean showers and that I could get a protein shake from their fridge on my way out, that goes a long way!!

I am so lucky to have found this place. If your serious about any ANY physical/mental performance…read moregoal. Cedric is THE top. I have watched in awe as my body now: - recovers while doing other physical movements -catches its breath while running - does what my mind tells it to far beyond what I thought I could. (Have literally pushed 5 more reps, by hyper focusing on the muscle even though I couldn't feel it and relaxing all else. I watched myself amazed) Cedric Cosiac has been my physical and mental trainer here for the last six months. He has trained not only my body but my mind, to such an extent that I can accomplish vastly more physically than I ever thought possible for myself. I am writing this because I have just stepped off a high intensity dance shoot involving everything from ballet to acrobatics, parkour, martial arts, hip hop, to a few things we just invented. I was the only person on camera. We were supposed to have two days to film but we only had one and had to race against the clock as the sun was our light source. This means I get little to no breaks in between takes where I am required to dance full out in huge bursts. I was required to stay in muscle fatigue for 12 hours. But I PULLED IT OFF WITH ENERGY TO SPARE ! Why ? Cedric. The active recovery and breath training allowed me to maintain energy and recover while moving. The endurance training we do allowed my muscles to last longer and perform better. (I told him I had to do a high intensity dance piece on film months ago and he designed a routine to match exactly) His overall attention to my mental state during our training allowed me to remain completely calm and slow my heart rate, focus, and not waste energy. Everyone was in awe of what I was able to do. I genuinely wouldn't have been able to pull it off had it now been for our training I used EVERYTHING he taught me and it's just the beginning. He has shown me what I am capable of. I do not know of a greater gift than that.

I give this location 3 stars for what it almost could be, if only management cared just a little…read morebit more about its customers. The safely worst part of this place? don't expect air conditioning that works or works effectively. 95 percent of the time I am there, it is way too warm; with only a few fans here or there. The only space with proper AC is the free weight room in the back. the main cardio area is heart attack dangerous on some days. I come out of here a sweaty mess. you can limp thru weight lifting with no coolness, but climbing revolving stairs? yeah... on another note, the club leaves broken cardio machines broken forever. no exaggeration. one cardio machine died maybe 5 years ago, and it still has an out of order sign on it. no sense complaining; nothing will be done. perhaps all the machines are out of warranty, and the club doesn't want to spend money on repair. whatever it may be, just turn on the air!

When I arrived, there was no one at the front desk. I scanned in using my phone, grabbed a towel,…read moreand began walking around the gym to familiarize myself with the equipment before heading to the locker room. While doing so, another member approached me and made inappropriate comments, saying, "I won't tell if you won't tell." she repeated this a few time She went on to imply that people often walk in and take items without permission and suggested I should go to a gym closer to my home. I explained that I live in Brooklyn and do not have a gym in my area. She then insisted on walking me to the locker room. A few minutes later, this same member entered the locker room and questioned whether I intended to work out there. This interaction left me feeling uncomfortable, judged, and unwelcome. Shortly after, a male employee approached me regarding a complaint about people "laughing and screaming." I wasn't aware that speaking or expressing joy at the gym was against the rules, and I strongly suspect the complaint was made by the same member who confronted me earlier. This entire experience has left me feeling unfairly targeted and profiled. As someone who chose NYC Sports Club for its reputation and accessibility, this incident was both disheartening and unacceptable. Everyone deserves to feel welcome and respected in a gym environment, and my experience today fell far short of those expectations.

By far one of the best Life Time Fitness gyms in NYC. Almost a hidden gem to be honest. Right in…read morefront of Madison Square Garden, you get a good view of the stadium and all the craziness happening down below to get into MSG. A lot of the Life Time locations in NYC are fairly small in size but so is everything else in town like restaurants, hotels, and retails stores. What I love about this location is that I feel like a lot of people don't know that it's here. I come and usually traffic is fairly light. Just avoid it between 5pm-7pm because the locker rooms are small and yes they completely fill up sometimes. Theres three floors: 1st floor is check-in, Pickleball courts (w/ beer & wine) on tap, second floor is cardio, a few studios and the LifeCafe. Third floor is weights, machines, locker rooms and a few other studios. The gym is very clean overall. People mind their own business, they get their workout in and get out. Which is great because you hardly ever have to wait around for a machine.

The staff told me, only the member can cancel, although I was the payer. I knew that was a lie. I called back again as soon as I saw another new charge, this time another lie, "We can't cancel now, because already shows a charge. Next month we will not charge again." Although my credit card said, it is on pending, and the merchant should do the right thing to credit me back. Again, Lifetime just charged me, even they said will not charge again. I called back my cc, they look into my record and took action on behalf of me. BE VERY CAREFUL OF HOW DISHONEST Lifetime conduct their businesses.

This is my go-to Barry's location in Manhattan! Always such a killer workout, no matter if it's…read moreTotal Body, Arms and Abs, Abs and Ass, etc. My fave days are generally the Total Body because they're really effective, versus the other days I find myself so fatigued by the second half of the class that it's hard to lift more weights. It definitely takes 5 or so classes to truly get the hang of Barry's otherwise it can be really challenging as a beginner. Basically you start on the treadmill or weights for about 12-14 mins, switch to the other side, and then repeat. My fave instructors are definitely Paris and Joe A. With Paris, I get in such a good workout because he doesn't include breaks (lol). Joe A is super motivating and I love his music!

The lockers may be tricky if it's your first time using one of theirs, so ask a staff for help before locking your stuff unexpectedly! It was my first Barry's class + I did an Arms x Run class. You start on either the floor or treadmill, then you're instructed to swap stations 2xs, so that you do each section twice. You can opt to be on either the floor or treadmill the whole time though. The format of the class takes a second to get used to, since the instructor directs both sections at the same time. I personally think it's easier to be on the treadmill, since you're mostly jogging or doing sprints. If there's one con, I wish there was more space between the lockers inside the women's locker rooms and the vanity area post shower. Definitely a HIIT style class to get used to, but I loved sweating it out! Barry's is unfortunately on the higher price of workout classes ($40), but a standard price for NYC, sadly. Overall, would def return for a Barry's class, when they have more class deals!
