The random guy comment? There's some guy who's apparently an owner or someone higher up who just shows up with no Sweat440 logos on so you don't know he works there, and he randomly shows up and starts yelling at you. First time it happened I thought a homeless person broke into the studio. He also was hyper-fixated on me especially when I was rowing - I rowed through college & have done many a Regatta, I know what i'm doing - and didn't focus on any of the other 20+ people. He singled me out to make me feel uncomfortable and when I filed a complaint nobody did a thing about it. He's probably the person telling his staff to cross boundaries with personal information. A guy in the FiDi location kept texting me begging me to buy a plan I said no I travel a lot and can't afford a package when i'm out of the country so much AND he continued to harass me and even made fun of me when I rushed out because I had to go pick up my Mom from the hospital. He literally texted me laughing and being abrasive when I said I had to get out of there I have something important to get to. Sweat440 continues to harrass, cross boundaries, and illegally share information without consent. I'm sick of it and officially never going back i'll find a new HIIT option.

At other F45s I've been to, people trudge in late and at different times. It can be distracting and disruptive. (2) Awesome instruction. I'm always getting feedback on form, and the instructors are always engaged. I appreciate the attention to detail, it's the only way I can improve. I go here almost everyday - highly recommend for anyone that's looking to burn fat, build muscle, and do it efficiently.

As a parishioner of St. Michael's, I often would hear the music at the 10:30 am mass and I wonder what it was. Time later, I saw an ad for F45 and I was like, Why not? I live close by. I followed the sign and I felt I was going to a Speakeasy. I am glad a good samaritan was right behind me and guided me through the basement area and long corridor. I just left their Tokyo class. I truly dont know why they call it Tokyo and kudos to the coaches - Jackie and Hernan! AMAZING. I told them my injuries and they provided modifications and suggestions amidst a very packed 9:30 am sunday class. Management - Please give them a raise!! As a former fitness pro, I am amazed with their high level of professionalism and I would come back again.

So it really is great at providing a full body workout! Their instructors are energetic and fun. Note- this is NOT Pilates (megareformer is not pilates). It is a strength fitness class that utilizes a megareformer. Form 50 has a cute aesthetic- pink light, pink & white springs, pink handles. So you can decide if that's your thing! Amenities are good- lots of lockers, bathroom & showers (not all studios i go to have showers). Conveniently located in midtown, not far from the 6 train. This is available on ClassPass! Overall, I will be back.

Other than that, they're pretty similar in that their total body sculpt workouts are pretty good, though they do focus more on abs, glutes, legs by nature of Pilates. The instructor kept it interesting and gave us a variety of moves using most of the components of the megareformer machine. It was a tough workout but in a good way--I thought I'd be pretty fit since I play volleyball 2-3 times/week every week but Pilates has humbled me once again. Form50 has a lot of offers -- 2 pack or 2 week unlimited membership for new clients, various class packs and being listed on ClassPass. Towels are only free for members; otherwise, it's $3 per towel. The facility is very clean and aesthetic too. I also like how there are more than enough lockers, compared to some fitness studios where I feel like I have to scramble for locker space.

I decided to try EVF for the first time with their EVF class, which was open to everyone. The class was disorganized and overcrowded. The instructor speed-talked when showing us how to do an exercise with good form, and in a room of 30+ people, not everyone could even hear her because the music was too loud. And as people were working out, there were way too many people for her to actually monitor to make sure they are doing everything safely. The complete lack of focus on injury prevention and safety is a deal breaker for me. Instead, their focus is on making you sweat hard with weights to make you think you had a good workout - when in reality, you may not be activating the right muscles and are on your way to worsening your muscle imbalances and injuring yourself. Oh, and here are some extra fun details: -No one is EVER at the front desk. I had to pass by this gym 3 times on 3 different days because I wanted to talk to a human being to ask some questions before I signed up for my first class. They just have a desk there and equipment but no signs of life. Ever. -No one is doing audio checks before a class, so good luck hearing what your instructor is saying -The back office is the only area that seems to be staffed. Their focus is just sales, not about anything else. -The instructors are not knowledgeable in muscle anatomy and will have you doing reps based on time rather than on evenly working both sides of your body - another recipe for injury! This entire gym screams of red flags. Stay away.
