Didn't fight it as that's not my thing plus home boy was not the friendly type, but you know when you get highballed and ripped off and this was definitely one of those times. Got a call a bit after asking about the service and I did tell her it was fine except getting monetarily railed. She tried to justify the range of prices due to car, but having to only pump a balloon in the sill and use a stick to unlock it was not in that $200 range when now comparing to others online. I called because I locked my keys in my car. I asked about pricing on the phone and was told it was determined on site based on make, model, and condition of the car. When they arrived, they immediately began to open the door and once open, they told me their standard rate for this service is $250. I asked how they have a standard rate when I was told it was determined on site....but they just apologized and waited for my card. FM Locksmith advertises "the lowest pricing," but that is completely misleading. I was originally handed a bill close to $5,000 for a job that should have been around $600. After pushing back, they dropped the price to $1,200, which still felt excessive. Unfortunately, it didn't end there. The quality of the hardware is poor--the key does not properly work in the lock--and now I'm stuck waiting and hoping someone gets back to me to fix their own work. They do not explain or clarify pricing ahead of time, even when I asked. They ask if someone else told you and then don't actually tell you what it is. And when they do, they mumble it and then tell you no I did tell you. On me for not asking them to repeat but their response made it sound like oh they'll tell you later and then he claimed he told me. He was very nice but I genuinely felt like I was being gaslit. Online tells you ~50. Actual price was over $250. I work for a reputable contractor and called FM Locksmith to rekey (7) doors for a building. The doors were working but needed new keys for a new tenet. As other reviews have stated, the tech that came to site and spoke little english. After working for a while and rekeying the doors he demanded payment, however, he had broken 6 out of 7 of the doors. When asked why they were broken he said they were old doors and the mechanisms broke. The doors are one year old as the building was just built! After going back and forth for 15 minutes I paid him in what felt like a strongarm tactic, thinking I could reason with the office. When I called the office and explained the situation they said "the connection is bad, let me call you back". Guess what they never called back. Now whenever I call back no one answers. Bottom line this company is shady and left me in a worse position resulting in me having to spend even more money with a reputable locksmith to fix the doors they broke. Took over two hours for service to show up, took advantage of my wife charging over 300 dollars for a 30-45 second job, cursed on the phone and in person around my wife showing up in sweat pants, flip-flops and a wife beater shirt and no estimate was given up front until the service was completed and told her she had to pay it. This was literally the worst service I have ever experienced in my entire life. I called (855) 443-2220 on October 13 because I only had one key for my 2005 Honda Accord and it broke when I was at the auto parts store changing the battery on my key fob. The technician called me back from 619-456-0166 and a few hours later he came out and I paid him $400 to repair my old key and make me a brand new spare key. The old key that he repaired stopped working two days later, but I figured that that was probably because it was already broken and I didn't question it, but on October 31, the brand new key stopped working and I was stranded on a public sidewalk. I called back this company and it took three hours for me to even get the Tech on the phone. When the Tech called me back, he seemed very irritated and told me he couldn't come out for four hours. When paid him on 10/31 he told me to keep my receipt because it was my warranty. I was willing to wait the four hours because I had no choice but when I asked him to honor the warranty, he literally hung up on me. I immediately called back the customer service, the main call center line, and the woman told me that she would get in contact with the Tech and call me back. 30 more minutes went by and nobody called me back so I had to assume that they were not going to help me and I called a brand new Locksmith to come out. I paid $500 for two more brand new keys. The new locksmith that came out told me that the new key from FM Locksmith was very cheap. I called back FM Locksmith and filed a complaint and when I tried to do that, they told me that they would make the rep come out to me and help me for free. I said no because I already called another locksmith and I don't want the same bad Service and I definitely don't want help from somebody who doesn't want to help me and who disrespected me and hung up on me. I contacted their customer service about my complaint. I gave them pictures of my receipt. I gave them pictures of my old keys and my new keys and I said I don't want a full refund. I only want to be refunded for the new key that he made me because it's junk at this point and it has only been two weeks. They told me no because I should've waited for the tech to come out and help me. I reminded the woman on the phone that I was hung up on and that he basically refused me service so I had no choice but to call another locksmith because my car was illegally parked and I couldn't even move it. She said she would talk to her supervisor and get back to me and it's been over 24 hours. This is the worst service. This is a rip off. So the owner and son at this location (I believe that is the family dynamic) possess superior acumen in their trade but the second experience with the son came off a bit cavalier and arrogant. I have had two keys made here for the same situation no fault to them, and the other local Locks Smith's (and one in Murrieta nightmare experience) couldn't help me with the situation Both the son and dad were fast, efficient and effective in providing me the locksmith service that others couldn't do. On this second experience, I experienced both the dad(the dad is very calm and understanding) and son as the son was the only one present the first time back about two years ago. They are very down to business blunt with no patience for stupidity and are very honest and helpful with their consultation assessment of every customer's particular circumstances. They don't beat around the bush, hardworking and honest. The only problem I have is the son's condescending arrogant attitude the experience took on the second time around because of where I parked. I shouldn't have parked there, I agree with him but for the tone of the business relationship to be undervalued during my time there by the son I don't care for. But, do I expect to be rewarded after parking in a spot that can bring potential liability to the shop? Noooo. Do they see crazy stupid things in their location by the mentally unwell, transient, drug addicted quite often? Yessss. That location is sure to cause that type of reoccurring frustration and over time people can even become manic in their negative reactions to cope with the stress. I usually do my due diligence to mitigate any potential risk to everything I can since I prefer to hedge any negative socioeconomic risk. I called to get my boyfriends car unlocked. the guy came and was trying to get the door unlocked. for some reason he decided to jump on the tire to get a view of something. instead he stepped on the hub cap and completely broke it off. this is a custom piece to his vehicle which will cost over 60$. we paid 150$ for this service. and when it broke the man seemed careless. I called to file a complaint and the customer service lady was completely rude and said the piece looks like it can be screwed back on when it's clearly broken at the top and my boyfriend said it's completely broken: yet they insisted that's not the case and there's nothing they can do about it. they were not apologetic and she was completely dismissive. I never take the time to writ's reviews but I felt this needed to be done. I even suggested that they speak with the guy who broke it and they just didn't care. I called fm locksmith for help thank god they answered. I called to see if they would help me with an ignition cylinder and a key that I wore out opening coke bottles Several years ago. I had ran into this problem before and took out the ignition cylinder and took it to a different locksmith. They did fix the cylinder so that the key would fit in the cylinder teeth. But I forgot to change out the door cylinders after using my one key for Ignition and Door the key wore out and not working in the ignition again.
