Good tax prep services! Good process! Very fair pricing!…read more Did my income taxes with Cynthia Fuentes at Pronto Income Tax for the better part of a decade while we had complicated personal taxes. It was always a seamless process, done entirely by secure web upload and Zoom (I've never even been to their office in person!). The process was so smooth that I continued to use them even after moving out of California, and only stopped using Cynthia's services because I need a local tax expert who can deal with the local tax insanity in my new town in a different state. A lot of times we had issues with either the IRS or the state of California contesting our returns for one reason or another. Cynthia always advised us how to respond and held our hand during the process, and when possible she even called the IRS herself to have our refunds released. Pricing is very fair considering you get your taxes done by an actual IRS Enrolled Agent (not some made-up "Tax Advisor" who has no training or expertise in tax law, which is what you get at the big national chains).

I cannot begin to praise BC Investigative Services highly enough! I was in an emergency situation…read moreand needed a legal document prepared immediately but no one could help me quickly enough until I called them. They prepared my document faster than I could have hoped for. All the other document preparers I had called led me to believe that it was complicated or that they couldn't do it or if they could that it would take days--which I didn't have--and would cost a lot more money. I wish that I could give BC Investigative Services a hundred star rating instead of five. I will be forever grateful to them!

Walked in to give them a try anyways and when I asked for a live scan they said they don't do them. I explained that I had been calling to confirm this before coming all the way over and no one answered the phone and the employee didn't offer an apology or explanation. She just said, "I'm pretty sure UPS up the street does live scans." What a waste of my time. I won't be back here.

I've been a loyal customer of Carillos Income Tax for almost a decade, but this year's experience…read morewas extremely disappointing. Two weeks ago, my mom and I went in to file our taxes, and the process took hours, much longer than it ever has before. At one point, Marcelo and his son even stepped out for an impromptu meeting and left us waiting for nearly 30 minutes. There was no acknowledgment of the inconvenience, no apology, and no effort to offer any kind of discount for the excessive wait time. What's also frustrating is the pricing. Every year the cost seems to increase, and there doesn't appear to be a clear standard price. I paid over $150 even with a "discount," and it honestly feels like pricing fluctuates depending on the worker or the customer. Today I called to follow up about my e-file because I had some questions, and Marcelo sounded annoyed the entire time. He couldn't provide clear answers and repeatedly responded with "I don't know." The tone was unprofessional and dismissive. This is the first time I've ever felt inconvenienced and undervalued as a customer here. After nearly 10 years of loyalty, I expected better communication, professionalism, and transparency. Very disappointed.
