One tip I'd share (especially if you're filing with a 1099) is to come prepared with all your documents printed out and your expense totals already calculated. I told the lady I can't stay outside, since I'm allergic to pollen and it was a windy day. She is like take the form with you to your car and do it. Rene and Eze were absolutely helpful in helping me file my tax return. I don't know how else to put it or how else to expound on this. You can ask them all the questions that you want or you can just sit quietly while they figure out how to get you your refund or sort out your tax return. I have been using software for years and finally decided to try and use an accountant so I went here with the reco of my friend. I did not regret doing it cause it was a WAY easier process than using software and it's nice to be able to ask questions with an expert who is right in front of you. I prepped stuff on my end of course, listed all the details of income, deductions etc on an excel sheet and handed them that. They prefer it to be printed tho I think. My correspondence with them was in person and via email. With the duration of my tax filing process split probably 65/45 between them. I think it's conclusive to say they are worth at least a try. There this old Hispanic lady I didn't catch her name but she the most unprofessional person I've met. She told me and my pops to wait after lunch to get my taxes done and i agreed and told her if any thing comes up to call because i was being mindful of my classes and told her about it and it's ended being pushed back and didn't bother to call back. When I come back she said that it won't be till another 2 hours till I can be seen. I was disappointed with her due to me having classes she didn't seem to care and rushed me to the front just for the tax man to just brush me to the side and not bother to do my taxes right he just looked at it and filed it without even looking at my w-2. I was in need of a new tax preparer and I honestly did not want to use those big chains anymore. It felt like I was just another tax form waiting in line for someone random in the office to file my taxes. When I had questions, I always had to speak to someone on a higher level to explain things. I think they just hire inexperience workers to plug in my numbers from my W2 form and print out my paper work. I wanted someone more on a personal level that knew what they were doing. My husband and I have gone to Ezequiel (EZE) twice now. Each time we've received great customer service! He is SUPER BUSY! But it's definitely worth the wait. You can put your name down and go about your day. They'll call you at least 30 minutes asking for you to come back. I know he's big on confidentiality which is a big plus and a great practice as some places don't practice this. I appreciate very much that though he's very busy, he ALWAYS replies to my emails. The prices are very reasonable and affordable! As long as he's in business, we'll be clients! The only thing I'm upset about is that I didn't find him sooner! read more

it was all first come first serve. Walked in at 10:03. Put my name on the list, walked out and went to the gym about 7 mins away ( LA Fitness Playa Vista) for about an hour. Came back, NO PARKING in the strip mall this places is located at but plenty on the street so don't wait in your car for 50 mins for someone to leave, not worth it. Came back an hour later and they had only did 2 or 3 walk ins NOT including the people who actually had appointments. ( Make and appointment or you'll be waiting at least 1-2 hours depending on of course who shows up. I waited last minute, new client, just walked in.) Waited exactly an hour after I came back ( total of 2 hours to the T) and was seen. Taxes took about 25 mins Didn't get back as much as H and R block stated I would but I'm for certain I won't be getting audited with Mr. Barba. H and R block is NOT TO BE TRUSTED. I'm sure they lied through their teeth inflating numbers which in the bigger scheme, NO THANKS. Not interested in lying for money or having the IRS knocking. Mr. Barba is truly a professional. What I loved most about him was the fact that he had the most QUIET voice ever. It's a small office and your taxes are sometimes being done in front of strangers. So NOT having your personal business being shouted out for all to see was so refreshing. I tried my hardest to listen to his conversations with other clients just to see if I could pick up on what was discuss and I was only able to hear the clients, NEVER Mr. Barba. Yesss! Privacy!! I've come here to do my taxes for a few years now. Never had any issues. Great people great service. However I just left the office for the third time being turned away. I understand covid plays into this. But come on! No sign in sheet?! So you tell people as they walk in, to wait outside, just to say "were closing early today". Not offering another way to see it; just leaving it at "file for an extension." That wouldn't have been bothersome if I hadn't been turned away twice prior coming from a 2 hour drive everytime. A sign in sheet would have really helped. read more
