Was behind on taxes and freaked out when I got scary letters from the State for outrageous taxes owed --I wasn't sure why it was so much. There are excuses for why my Offers-In-Compromise never got reviewed: confusion over employee versus self-employed status, two government shutdowns, and the pandemic. Ultimately, I had relied on her assessment of my chances for approval, and that led to a horrible outcome. Who wants to call the IRS 7 times within a 3 month period! Not me, never again!!!! So here's the story. I was due a return from our lovely IRS, a return I was counting on to reinvest into my business. It was delayed and so I called the IRS to ask why I hadn't received my check. After waiting for over an hour, they said....oh we are backed up you should get something in the next two weeks. I waited, nothing. Called back, same drill...waiting one hour than a lame excuse. After the third call I spoke with my accountant, mind you this is three months after tax season. He suggested I try Madison Debt and Tax Relief. While looking for a new accountant to do my income tax, I took a positive referral from Nextdoor.com and called Mina from Madison Tax Solutions. Like many, I had lost my income due to Covid and the CPA's I had previously called were expensive for a very simple personal return.
