I called to get a quote and someone from the company texted me back. I sent them my personal documents as requested and my tax return is very simple. He asked about who did my taxes before and after I responded, he declined me due to "my situation and his workload." I asked him what "my situation" was and he declined to answer. I have a very easy W2 job and I made some commission that didn't even total $7K. My taxes have been filed on time every year so I'm struggling to figure out how he could've judge my file within 5 mins. of texting. The only thing he did was send me an unhelpful link about fee averages. He never quoted me anything. Not even a phone interview for clarity on my file. ****Update after initial post (same day):**** ***He responded after I told him I was going to leave a review about my experience and it's funny that all he explained in his rebuttal review post was not even attempted to be communicated by phone before he dismissed me and said his prices wouldn't "be favorable for me" as if he assumed I couldn't afford him. I don't deny that he has good business, just not with someone like me. It's one thing if he quoted me a price and I told him I couldn't afford it myself-- but it's another thing to send me a link to a website (that I didn't ask for) on tax prep fees after you refuse my business and tell me what's favorable and what's "likely" for me. You degraded me, not the other way around! How could you not see how discriminatory this is? When you run a business, you should never handle people the way you did to me -- no matter how big or small the file is. Just tell me your fee and if you have files that are more "appealing" than mine or just simply don't feel like doing it (which may be your case), you refer me to someone who can help and not a page on tax prep fees. Would not recommend this service. I gave this business a call to inquire about personal income tax preparation for the most recent year and instead got a text message asking what I need. I responded that I would feel more comfortable speak over the phone versus sharing confidential information via text. The owner (I believe) called 1 hour later, and after asking me again what I need done again, rudely suggested I go check his rates before calling again. But if you're in a pinch he will help you while teaching you self control at the same time because you'll want to curse him out each time you get on the phone with him. Taxes are a pain the --- anyways and Kiak is the cherry on top. I had just moved to the south bay LA area with a complex tax return including sales of securities and real estate, so I searched for someone who can handle these kinds of issues. All that and a sense of humor too! We had a tight timeframe with my daughter's lease expiration -v- escrow ending so she could move straight into her new home without any down time inbetween. Kiak at first seems nice and caring of your needs but in reality he's asking questions to see if you can actually "afford" his services. I had explained that my taxes might be a little complicated due to student loans that I had. He then started to tell me that pricing may go up if you don't respond fast enough. Like any hardworking person, I don't sit by my email every minute of the day but I do get back to important messages ASAP. His questions sounded more like generalizations as opposed to fact finding to ensure quality needs. I work with customers and good customer experience is critical in my line of work. This isn't it. I was in a very bad situation in which the franchise tax board was going to record a lien against me in less than a month. Apparently the state franchise board said i owed them $25,000 from 5 years of not filing taxes. They calculated these taxes based on me having a real estate brokers license that i don't use, and how much real estate brokers make per year on avg. A lien would hurt my credit, and i would officially owe a lot money based on falsely assumed income by the state franchise board and me not filing taxes in the past. Despite this time crunch, Kiak took on my case. He filed taxes for me for all 5 years, and was on the phone with the state franchise board constantly to get all information they have on me and to make sure they receive the filed taxes so that they would not record the lien. Even when they would make him wait for hours and not call him back after putting him on the call "waiting list", he would try again and would eventually get through to them. This place is a joke. Overpriced and rude staff. I call since I hit a jackpot and need someone to help me with a w2 form or a win/loss statement. I call today and the guy ask what the amount was for. It's not relevant but I felt like being nice,so I tell him the amount. I talk to an other Asian lady, and she gives me a quote. She says 250 dollars. I am laughing and saying, really? I tell her other places are giving me much better prices and you want 250. She says if I don't like the price, I can go somewhere else. Of course I will!! I call two other places in the area and they said 75 dollars and 100 dollars which is typically normal. I can also purchase turbo tax for 50 dollars and do it my self but it's more of the connivence factor. Come here if you like to overpay and made of money. read more

As a 21 year old filing taxes for the first time, I don't know what I would have done if it wasn't for Kiak and Katie! Hands down best customer service you could ask for at any establishment. Katie ended up handling everything for me. I was looking for somebody who could explain everything to me, and wouldn't charge insanely. I had a few options and multiple W2's. Not to mention, a million questions. And I needed to get my taxes filed ASAP in order to file my FAFSA. I asked everyone I knew even on Facebook.
