I sent my mom here to get her taxes done because she had many questions I did not know the answer to due to life changes. Making an appointment was easy and she had a productive one on one session where her taxes were completed and all her questions were answered. In terms of cost yes it is more than doing it yourself but for peace of mind it's a great deal. read more

When the subject matter is finance, you definitely want to work with someone you can trust. I was referred to Kiak for my tax preparation, and I've never felt more comfortable and safe. Kiak, is not only very knowledgeable, but he is exceedingly educated and experienced. Although he is very straight forward, you can clearly see he has only good intentions for his clients. First time working with him and I've already feel confident in referring him to my friends and family. Me and my husband plan on working with Kiak for the future because we've establish a great bond with him. You will find that he is well organized and he is punctual with his work. I am thankful I got the opportunity to work with him. read more

We got to work with Kiak as our tax preparer for 2023. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to work with. He kept us organized and informed during every step of the process, making sure we felt comfortable and secure. He helped us get back a bigger tax return than we could've on our own. The service was priced competitively for tax preparation, and the expertise we recieved definitely made it worth it. read more

I called to get a quote and someone from the company texted me back. I sent them my personal documents as requested and my tax return is very simple. He asked about who did my taxes before and after I responded, he declined me due to "my situation and his workload." I asked him what "my situation" was and he declined to answer. I have a very easy W2 job and I made some commission that didn't even total $7K. My taxes have been filed on time every year so I'm struggling to figure out how he could've judge my file within 5 mins. of texting. The only thing he did was send me an unhelpful link about fee averages. He never quoted me anything. Not even a phone interview for clarity on my file. ****Update after initial post (same day):**** ***He responded after I told him I was going to leave a review about my experience and it's funny that all he explained in his rebuttal review post was not even attempted to be communicated by phone before he dismissed me and said his prices wouldn't "be favorable for me" as if he assumed I couldn't afford him. Please see photos of the actual conversation attached instead of the excuses he is providing to make his Yelp page look more favorable. I don't deny that he has good business, just not with someone like me. It's one thing if he quoted me a price and I told him I couldn't afford it myself-- but it's another thing to send me a link to a website (that I didn't ask for) on tax prep fees after you refuse my business and tell me what's favorable and what's "likely" for me. You degraded me, not the other way around! How could you not see how discriminatory this is? When you run a business, you should never handle people the way you did to me -- no matter how big or small the file is. Just tell me your fee and if you have files that are more "appealing" than mine or just simply don't feel like doing it (which may be your case), you refer me to someone who can help and not a page on tax prep fees. In business, it's about how you make people feel, whether you meant to insult me or not. You clearly filter your clients and that's fine. But watch how you say things. read more

Would not recommend this service. I gave this business a call to inquire about personal income tax preparation for the most recent year and instead got a text message asking what I need. I responded that I would feel more comfortable speak over the phone versus sharing confidential information via text. The owner (I believe) called 1 hour later, and after asking me again what I need done again, rudely suggested I go check his rates before calling again. Wow-- the customer service is completely no existent with this company. I recommend taking your business elsewhere! read more

I was in need of financial advice and Gardena Financial really helped me out. They gave me some info I didn't have, but really needed to hear. Thanks again! read more

Kiak is rude and arrogant and knows it. He actually strives to be this way. But if you're in a pinch he will help you while teaching you self control at the same time because you'll want to curse him out each time you get on the phone with him. Taxes are a pain the --- anyways and Kiak is the cherry on top. You'll pay top dollar in taxes with him but you'll sleep well at night knowing there's no way they'll audit you because he just signed you up to give the IRS all your money. Just get them done, ignore him, and move on with life... read more

Jennifer is an absolutely FANTASTIC realtor....I really can't praise her highly enough! She is deserving of 10 stars! She helped my daughter and I purchase a house in Gardena despite the crazy circus that is the LA property market. Plus she navigated us through a quick escrow with quite a few curve balls thrown in like the expert she is. Listen to her, take her advice, she is an astute guide and negotiator who knows how to handle an offer/purchase professionally and wisely, getting you the best deal possible. We turned to Jennifer after a bad experience with another realtor who had lost us 2 properties by not putting an offer in on time in such a hot fast moving market. Jennifer was astoundingly fast in comparison. She attended every open home with us, took us to see numerous properties, and kept us current and competitive by emailing info about new homes hitting the market, and a few before they were even listed. It took up a lot of her time yet she was always professional and friendly, never making us feel as though we were being demanding, especially since we weren't familiar with the escrow process so were a little more "needy" than most clients. She always ended each phone call making sure we understood everything, which we always did as she was always open, honest and straightforward, and she kept everyone else involved that way too. Jennifer was supremely organized (almost OCD), hands on at all times, making sure the sellers were on track, keeping contractors on their toes, organizing a 2nd termite inspector when our pick proved too expensive and not as thorough, liaising with the escrow officer and our mortgage broker/provider, checking permits, measuring for appliances, offering advice on shower door installations, talking to neighbors to get a feel for the area, etc, all while keeping us informed of every step every minute and holding our hands along the way. All that and a sense of humor too! We had a tight timeframe with my daughter's lease expiration -v- escrow ending so she could move straight into her new home without any down time inbetween. Jennifer set it all up like a line of dominos and everything just fell into place! She is that good! It really is like watching a work of art; she is a master of her craft. Realtor extraordinaire. We would definitely recommend 150% that you use Jennifer as your realtor. You would be crazy not to! She is an amazing person, professionally and personally. When we need to sell the house in the future we will be contacting Jennifer, and only Jennifer, to make the sale. read more

Kiak is excellent! This review is long overdue. I had just moved to the south bay LA area with a complex tax return including sales of securities and real estate, so I searched for someone who can handle these kinds of issues. I was so anxious that I'd owe so much taxes on income and gains. Kiak made it such a great experience as he was thoroughly detailed and organized but with a fun sense of humor, while keeping me accountable so that we'd get everything in on time. I was so happy I ended up with reasonable taxes than I originally anticipated all thanks to Kiak's expertise and advice. And as far as his fees, you definitely get what you pay for.. which is top-notch professional tax preparation. Let's just say I'm about to send my retainer for the 2022 tax year and definitely look forward to his services again! read more

I stumbled upon this business through a review I read on yelp as a 22-year-old...I am now 30. My 8-year relationship with both Kiak and Jennifer has been nothing short of exceptional. They have helped my family and me in a variety of ways: Taxes, Retirement, Medicare Care, Home-Buying, and Refinances. With that said, My parents just concluded refinancing their home with Gardena Financial. Their new online refinance process was smooth and clear. My parents and I were thoroughly impressed by how convenient and efficient it has been from the comfort of our home. Kiak and Jennifer's interpersonal skills continue to foster peace of mind that we are valued. They always ask if we have any questions or if they were clear with their explanation. It is evident to me that they continue to be focused and committed to providing my family and me with the best service. If you seek an honest, committed, and professional business to handle one or more of your financial needs do not hesitate to contact them. I can't express how much value they have brought to my family's life by integrating different financial services. It is a true one-stop-shop! read more

Kiak was fast as it gets when it comes to doing your taxes. Start to finish, he was really consistent and personal. If you don't wish to go in person he does personal zoom style conference calls when going over your tax returns. Recommend read more

Hello. My name is Gerardo Reyes. I just refinanced with Gardena financial mortgage. I am very pleased with the benefits I received. * My payments have been reduced from three payments to just one. * My payment dropped by $2,255 per month. *As a result I am able to reduce my retirement withdrawal. *In addition, this will help my taxes be reduced. * These actions will help my savings last much longer, reducing the likelihood of running out of money. * I was able to get an excellent mortgage rate with a coordinated transaction in the other areas of my finances(taxes, financial plan, etc.) I retired over five years ago. At that time there were lots of important decisions to be made. Among them were: *Should I refinance to 15 years for both my rental and primary home? * Should I use my retirement fund to pay off my home? *Will my taxes go up if I pay off my home? *How will each of my financial decisions affect other areas of my personal finances(i.e., cash flow, emergencies fund, etc.)? *How should my retirement fund be managed? * Who can I trust to guide me? These are some of the questions that gave me anxiety and kept me up late at night. I had  interviewed several financial advisors and Kiak honestly wasn't my first choice. In the end, I selected him, for the following reasons: * Most financial  advisors are not a mortgage broker, a tax accountant, a real estate broker, nor an insurance broker. *Kiak is credentialed in ALL Five areas, and he has many resources to run several kinds of analysis. *When he helps refinance my mortgages, he thinks about how it would affect the other areas of my finances(i.e. income tax liability, cash flow, etc.) It is certain that a regular mortgage broker isn't able to accomplish this. *Since I use all of his services including tax filing, mortgage, retirement planning, etc., It has been much less painful for me. If I need to know about refinancing and how it will affect my tax liability, he can easily run a complex analysis using his tax and financial planning software with my existing information. This saves me time, money, and lots of explaining to different financial professionals. * Most importantly, Kiak will be honest and forthright with you. He's not afraid to lose you as a client if he thinks you were going in the wrong direction. If you are planning to use his services, be prepared. Be honest with him and listen to him. In my life experience, it's easy to find several sales people who will tell you what you want to hear, but not necessarily tell you what's good for you. Kiak has the credentials, work ethic, compassion, and passion to tell you what is right for you without being afraid of whether you will use his service or not. He values his reputation over a quick transaction. I hope you'll find this to be as true as I have. Gerardo read more

Called to get an estimate on how much tax preparation would be. Kiak at first seems nice and caring of your needs but in reality he's asking questions to see if you can actually "afford" his services. I had explained that my taxes might be a little complicated due to student loans that I had. He then started to tell me that pricing may go up if you don't respond fast enough. Like any hardworking person, I don't sit by my email every minute of the day but I do get back to important messages ASAP. His questions sounded more like generalizations as opposed to fact finding to ensure quality needs. I work with customers and good customer experience is critical in my line of work. This isn't it. In the end he said they would not be best suited to help me, and that was the only part of our conversation that I appreciated. read more

WE recently completed a "stress free" refi with Gardena Financial. The whole process seamless from beginning to end. We did the loan application on Nov. 7th, locked the rate on Nov. 17th and closed on Dec. 4th! Kiak kept me in the loop on a daily basis all the numbers were exactly what was discussed and agreed on. There were no mysteries or last minute surprises. We were able to refi take out some cash for an improvement project, and still lower our payment by over $300.00. So there are companies all over television and radio promising these incredible rates deals but with lots of hidden details but with Gardena Financial everything is honest, open and plainly spelled out. Thank you Kiak! read more

I have been getting my taxes done here for years! Kiak is very professional and bridges the gap between true quality, and affordability. Some legwork on your part is necessary, and depending on how extensive your tax situation is, it varies. But if you really think about it, what better way to understand your tax situation than actually getting involved in the process yourself? Not only does this ensure accuracy, but it also streamlines the process from beginning to end. A prime example of this is Kiak's recent implementation of Jotform. I recently brought my dad on board and filling out the pertinent information online through Jotform in the comfort of my own home was nice!! Indeed it did facilitate the process and limited needless back and forth. It also doesn't hurt that Kiak is well versed to advise on many other financial matters you may have. I highly recommend you inquire to see if he can help you in your tax situation. Already getting my 2020 tax documents scanned into my computer and ready to go!!! read more

My dear Kiak where would I be without you. I have been going to Gardena financial for the last 6 years when I first started contracting and now transitioning into a traditional W2 employee. Kiak is top notch and one of the kindest humans I have ever met. If you are considering Gardena Financial for any financial services you will be taken care of. If I could give 10 stars, I would. My husband and I were looking for a place to do our taxes not just for numbers, but to understand what we were doing and what we could be doing better to benefit our family, lifestyle, and decision making. I was in a very bad situation in which the franchise tax board was going to record a lien against me in less than a month. Apparently the state franchise board said i owed them $25,000 from 5 years of not filing taxes. They calculated these taxes based on me having a real estate brokers license that i don't use, and how much real estate brokers make per year on avg. A lien would hurt my credit, and i would officially owe a lot money based on falsely assumed income by the state franchise board and me not filing taxes in the past. Despite this time crunch, Kiak took on my case. He filed taxes for me for all 5 years, and was on the phone with the state franchise board constantly to get all information they have on me and to make sure they receive the filed taxes so that they would not record the lien. Even when they would make him wait for hours and not call him back after putting him on the call "waiting list", he would try again and would eventually get through to them. He was very persistent with them, and now all my taxes have been filed and there will be no lien recorded against me. Thank you Kiak. read more

This place is a joke. Overpriced and rude staff. I call since I hit a jackpot and need someone to help me with a w2 form or a win/loss statement. I call today and the guy ask what the amount was for. It's not relevant but I felt like being nice,so I tell him the amount. I talk to an other Asian lady, and she gives me a quote. She says 250 dollars. I am laughing and saying, really? I tell her other places are giving me much better prices and you want 250. She says if I don't like the price, I can go somewhere else. Of course I will!! I call two other places in the area and they said 75 dollars and 100 dollars which is typically normal. I can also purchase turbo tax for 50 dollars and do it my self but it's more of the connivence factor. Come here if you like to overpay and made of money. read more

The ITS experience goes beyond typical 'tax prep'. It is just that..an experience. I'm so happy that we went in to see ITS this year. From your initial call to book your appointment to well after your visit, the level of professionalism is bar none. I spoke to Jennifer to book my appointment the same day, when I asked for an earlier appointment than what was readily available, she was able to make it happen for us within an hour of my phone call. That won major points! Our appointment was with Kiak, the owner. He is incredible! His wealth (pun intended) of knowledge as well as his breadth of experience in all aspects of finance, completely sets Kiak and the ITS Team in a category all their own. We were given a brief "get acquainted" orientation prior to diving into our paperwork. Kiak wanted to get to know us as people and not just from what we look like on paper (More points racking up!). He lets you know that this is not just tax prep but a relationship that will surpass just this tax prep appointment. (more points) Kiak was very thorough as he went through our finances and explained every step of the way what he was doing and why he was doing them and allowed us to ask questions. He went over alot of areas of our taxes with us that we needed to be aware of in the future and common overlooked areas as well. It made my head spin, but I could tell that he was genuinely concerned about our financial health and wanted to do whatever he could to help us get healthier. That personal touch means a great deal to me when you have my life literally in your hands. When all was said and done, Kiak gave us solid advice going forward in life and also gave us some "homework" with worksheets and instructions. All in the hopes that our financial situation is improved and healthier when we go in to see him next year for our taxes. :) I highly recommend ITS Financial Group. Just a note: ITS is not just tax preparation, they are a full service financial firm. So they are available year around for all your financial "health" needs. read more

As a 21 year old filing taxes for the first time, I don't know what I would have done if it wasn't for Kiak and Katie! Hands down best customer service you could ask for at any establishment. Katie ended up handling everything for me. I was looking for somebody who could explain everything to me, and wouldn't charge insanely. I had a few options and multiple W2's. Not to mention, a million questions. And I needed to get my taxes filed ASAP in order to file my FAFSA. I asked everyone I knew even on Facebook. Two good friends called Me right away and recommended this place. The second I walked in I was offered water, or coffee and got an overall warm and friendly welcome. Kiak was super friendly but was busy so he directed me to Katie. Katie has to be one of the most patient and detail oriented persons I've met. She does not cut any corners and is fully committed to getting you the biggest return possible and explains everything she is doing and looking into as she does it. There was never an awkward silence while she did stuff on a computer or ignored me. She explores every possibility with you. My specific case even required her to do some extra research, call the IRS and print out plenty of forms. Who knows how many hours she invested in my case alone! She called my cell phone with every update and worked with my schedule when I needed to come Back in to sign forms. I was only available weekends and Katie never made that difficult. My return was huge and now I can file my FAFSA by the priority deadline. These people know their stuff and are committed to doing the best possible job they can for any case of any size. Highly recommended. read more
