She got at the clinic before her staff and greeted me as enthusiastically as a great receptionist would do. Walked me through all the paperwork and conducted me to the exam room herself (right after her receptionist have arrived). She is very warm and knowledgeable. I moved to Boston from Brazil and was confused about why eye / contact lenses exams are billed separately in the US. Since the next client had cancelled (because the after storm hurdles), she took her time to explain everything, answering patiently and happily to all my questions. When I left, her receptionist helped filling a check because my pupils were dilated. She was as nice and warm as Dr. Chang (next time I'll make sure to learn her name). I'm very happy to have found the eye doctor I hope to see (!) for the rest of my life. Not enough words to recommend her and her practice!!!

I've never waited more than 10 minutes in the lobby before being seen, and the overall functionality of the office is the best of any Dr I've seen. I've received my prescriptions electronically which has made it easy to order glasses and contacts online wherever I can find them the cheapest. Dr Lamoreau is so nice, kind and competent. I've had eye issues related to allergies and she's been very helpful with steering me in the right direction of contact solution, eye drops and even switching contact type. She's had me come back for a follow up when I had a flare up and I felt well cared-for and confident in her knowledge and expertise. I can't recommend Dr Lamoreau at New England Eye Center enough!

Doctor Lamoreau is incredible at her job . She is always thorough, sweet yet professional and incredibly in tune with her patients needs . I highly recommend going to her. I'm very perplexed by the negative reviews. I am sure they had their reasoning, but I've been there 4 times over the years and had only positive interactions. In my line of work as a choreographer, some people are just impossible to please. One final comment. Parking can be an issue bc the hospital parking is quite full. Walk if you can, but if you drive be prepared to pay 2-6 dollars for parking if you plan to be there for 1-3 hours. Anyway go to Dr Lamoreau! She's awesome!

I have never had a bad Rx. in my years of seeing her. I went to another Dr. last year and paid the price with a poorly written Rx. When I told that Dr. "Hey this isn't working" the receptionist told me basically the Dr. is always right. Huh? This would never happen at Dr. Galatis's: she's always been on the mark. Glasses ad contacts take a little while more than the run of the mill place, but remember, those Doctors don't look for actual eye problems: they write scripts... that's it. You're lucky to get ten minutes at the walmarts or lenscrafters of the world. I would also like to say that she doesn't push products. I'm going there in a few weeks because my last Dr. did such a horrible job. In summary: I'm more than happy to get good care at the expense of more waiting when it comes to products.

The practice was unkept, cluttered, disorganized, and covered in dust. The trash in the exam room was full, yet I was the first patient seen that morning. Nothing about the environment felt clean or sanitary. During my exam, a bottle of solution with no cap was used and then put directly into my eyes. I was also handed a used, dirty contact case to store my contacts afterward. I felt so uncomfortable with the cleanliness standards that I didn't even feel safe putting my contacts back in when I left. To make matters worse, when I requested an itemized receipt because I believed I had been overcharged, I was handed a piece of paper with long division math written in pen instead of a computerized breakdown of charges. As a fellow healthcare worker, I was appalled. I would absolutely not recommend this office to anyone looking for a professional or hygienic eye care experience.

They explained the procedures as they performed them, gave no judgements or lectures for any information I offered (I'm getting better about sleeping in contacts, I promise), and overall gave me their full attention for the length of my appointment. Mac was similarly a warm and welcoming help in discussing options for contact pricing and glasses, and the front desk staffperson was prompt, friendly, and had truly fantastic eyeliner wings. :) Overall: Gaze is 100% my new go-to eye doctor, no question about it. I was in a hurry rushing out the door, and when I walked into the store and said I needed to have my smooshed glasses fixed up, I pulled out the WP case from my bag and it was EMPTY. WIthout even thinking, I muttered "oh f***", then realized I had said it out loud and quickly apologized. Two of the ladies working said they completely understood, and while I was there I figured I should get the earpiece on the ones I was wearing (and had NOT sat on) loosened a tiny bit. I was on my way in no time, and it was pretty busy on a Friday at 1pm (I heard two people say they were there for their eye appointment); I recommend booking that in advance if you need it since they may not be able to get you in right away if you try to do a walk-in visit. When I tried to create an account online to track my glasses myself, I continued to get error messages. Further, I did not receive any emails when glasses did arrive at the store as promised. Also, it is impossible to reach a human on the phone in the Chestnut Hill store and when calling customer service, I instead spoke to folks based overseas who each gave conflicting information each and every time I called. NEVER shopping Warby Parker again. You'd think they would have their processes down by now.

As it happened while driving in bright and happy New England spring sunshine, I had to pull to the side of the road and dig out my emergency junk sunglasses that I had purchased a while back at some random 7-11 store *FOR* this exact reason. Talk about Deja-vu. I started looking for the closest Ray Bans store that I could drive to for free service and instead noticed a local optometry store literally a minute away. Since the desire was for a quick and convenient fix, I started driving their direction and was willing to pay for any services rendered. If you believe in fate like I do (just since there has been too many repeated coincidences to remain just coincidences), I was meant to find them today. Danielle greeted me with the friendliest smile and tone of voice the moment I walked through the door. She engaged me in conversation (that made me feel like a VIP) and quickly referred me to Felix, who was just as friendly and attentive. Felix fixed my glasses in less than a minute and was about to send me off on my way despite asking to pay for the service. He laughed and simply said, "I have a million of those screws and won't charge me for such a simple fix." This was when I turned back around and asked Danielle about their optometry services. I wanted to get another eye exam this year since the last one I had since moving here was...not particularly satisfactory in any way. Long story short, I was able to schedule an appointment next day and had a very thorough and fantastic eye exam with Denis, who ALSO was just as friendly as he was professional. Of course, if anyone knows me and glasses, it has never been about price. It's like the one gift to self that I look most forward to each year. This year, I really had something specific in mind that I wanted, which is to get a proper version of the cheap 7/11 spare glasses I bought back then when my Ray Bans first had issues. I loved the look. I loved the style. I loved the color of the lens. One hour later and after trying an endless amount of glasses, I found the right fit. Maui Jims. Surprise, surprise. Of course, this piece of junk copied something amazing lol. I picked it up a week after this exam and man, am I delighted. While they both look so similar, the "performance" is night and day. The clarity and the way it handles bright sun and reflecting light from cars and buildings...absolutely different. I don't even want to wear the Ray Bans anymore. Definitely recommend this lovely spot. Good people, great product, and absolutely wonderful service!
