I have been going here for a few years on the recommendation of a friend. Service has always been solid. I had an appointment today at 3:30 and was leaving work early (I work in Pomona) to make my appointment (In Cerritos). Of course traffic sucks and I knew I was going to be late so as a courtesy I called to let them know I would be late but I would still like to get my exam. I was informed that they have a 10 minute grace period and after that your appointment is cancelled and you have to reschedule. I was told I could reschedule the next day at 2. I had already left work early 1 day and their solution was for me to leave early another day because I would arrive past the 10 minute grace period. Needless to say I will be changing optometrists and finding a Dr. closer to my home. read more

This place doesn't take HMO. I wasn't told till I showed up :( so needless to say I'll end of up going somewhere else. Receptionist was nice and she seemed sorry for the inconvenience. Been a customer for years and was told my insurance covered lenses and that I could not get my refund back after I found my glasses. So they made 100 off of me. Not willing to help a customer who had been happy with the company. Will not go back and will not recommend. read more

I saw Dr Rosenblum on my last visit. He was filling in for Dr Shane (the Dr I usually see). Both men are brilliant! I was pleasantly surprised with Dr Rosenblum, who is so knowledgeable and I'm so thankful for his patience with me! I could definitely see the wisdom he has in eye care, especially when he reviewed, explained, and layed out the plan to fix my contact issue. I'm most definitely sure Dr Shane would have treated the issue quite similarly. The staff was amazing with all of us but especially with my kids and I greatly appreciate all the kindness and patience that was given with my daughters. My husband and I have been patients at Eyesite since just before they moved into this office from their Cerritos Mall location. (10+ years). The doctors and staff have always been very helpful, professional and thorough in our care. We've never been rushed or treated like just another patient to rush through the process. Each member of the staff does their task with you completely and thoroughly; making sure that your questions are answered and you get the very best care. It's never a quick visit, I'll admit, but it's worth the time because they get things right. And should a mistake occur (hey, it happens) they are quick to resolve it. VSP labs once reversed a curvature on my glasses and the prescription was right but they just felt off. The doctor quickly figured out what was wrong and sent them back to be corrected. He caught something the prescription reading machine they have didn't see because it only reads the +1.75 or whatever, not the subtleties. I can't recommend this office enough. They are friendly, efficient and go the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied. read more

I'm getting to that age where my eyes aren't as crisp as they used to be. I have been to Dr. David Rosenblum in the past for reading glasses and have always received great service and attention. My last visit was NO DIFFERENT! I finally had to transition from "readers" to "progressive glasses". As always Doc was very thorough and listened to what my perception of my vision is. He completed his assessment and provided an excellent prescription for my "peepers". The selection of glasses I had to choose from was excellent, especially for a guy with the size of head as mine! The assistants were friendly and attentive with my selection of eyewear as well. I chose a pair of Oakley frames and was advised that my glasses would be ready in five business days. I returned this past Friday and picked up my "new eyes" and I was beyond pleased with my prescription and how easy my glasses have been to adjust to. I wore them as I played golf today and was so happy with the clarity of my vision. Now if only "Dr. David" could give me a prescription on my golf game! Just left my husband's Second and final follow up and I cannot say nothing but good things about this place my husband injured his eye last week when a piece of Treebark flew into his eye. I took him to urgent care where he was rejected because they didn't have the proper equipment to fully check his eye out. So I called around to about eight different places and they were all giving me 2 to 3 times the cost for an initial checkup than Eyesite, since he doesnt have insurance. From the receptionist, assistants and the doctor everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The doctor was attentive and thorough, she explained everything and even gave us suggestions for pharmacies. Didn't wait much at all to be seen either. His eye is about 90% recovered in one week :) Very satisfied i chose this place. read more

I have a very high astigmatism in both eyes (-7.25 and -6.75) AND they carried something very close to my prescription so I was able to go home with a loaner pair until my order arrives! Unfortunately I did not receive the service that is highly talked about. As my call was answered I mentioned I found them through yelp and I am calling to schedule a first time appointment. Nicole placed me on hold for five minutes, when she returned she answered as if she was answering a new phone call. Seems to me she forgot she put me on hold. Secondly after taking my name and address she put me on hold again were after 3 minutes of waiting I said NOPE this is not going to work. As an adult I've gone to my fair share of optometrist, then I was recommended to go to Eyesite and I'm so glad that I did. They make you feel so comfortable because we all know going to the eye doctor can be stressful, it starts with a warm welcome from the receptionist that actually takes you through the preliminary eye exams moves you over to get seen by the doctor, and to my surprise I was examined by the owner him self , he took his time made sure I was comfortable with my responses for the exams. When I opted to get my contacts he placed them so quickly and gave the detail on placement and how these torque contacts worked. I've been coming here for around 15 years, give or take, for god knows what reason. The father-son optometrist team are great, but the front office staff, always, ALWAYS leaves something to be desired. The rest of my family moved on for the same reason, and I guess I should have followed suit sooner. So yesterday I arrive at 12:10 for my 12:15 appointment. I'm the only one there, and the receptionist tells me the doc (neither one of the owners, but some other doc, it appears that those two have moved up in the world and opened a new location in South Orange County, where the real money is) will be right with me. At 12:40, I walked out. No one noticed. So I'm sitting in my car getting steamed (it was a really hot day, you know), and decide that I want my file so that my new optometrist can have it. I call from the car, and the so called manager, Suzette? Suzanne? who is less than apologetic about my almost 30 minute wait says I can absolutely get my file to take somewhere else, and then proceeds to make me wait ANOTHER 20 MINUTES for it. They don't actually give me the whole thing, and the info I needed was several years back, whatever, by then I just wanted to get the F out of there. And they obviously didn't give a shit that I was going to take my cash paying ass elsewhere. The doctor was also in and out of this discussion and didn't even bother to say a word. I guess she's got all the business she needs. Remind me again WHY I have been going to this eye doctor? Rather, went, because hell if I'm, rather we're going back. I guess what I really should do is put this in a letter to the owners, but hey, that's what Yelp is for, isn't it? read more

My Husband's Mom came to visit my family less than 2 years ago and lost her glasses on her flight. I decided to take her to this place for her eye exam and at first we were impressed with how the office looked. The place looked very put together and the receptionist was nice. The rest of the visit could've been better. We waited over 20 minutes to be seen and we had a lot of places to go since my Mom-in-Law wasn't going to be in town for very long. Both of us thought the exam was quick but good enough. Though I thought the doctor was just another ordinary guy, my Mom-in-Law thought he looked like Dr. Oz but his personality was awkward. After the exam we were helped by a female employee who was nice but made us feel pressured to put things on the glasses. I just noticed that some of the other reviews on here also had the same issue. We decided to take her prescription to another office in Long Beach and they were able to finish her glasses in about 2 hours. There were some good things about this office but I don't think I will be bringing my family here. read more

It's an optometry. They aren't any different from any other except that they seem to cost twice as much. I walked in last weekend to get a quote on a torric contact lens exam: $174. Most places charge between $95 to $120 for a torric contact lens exam. Not sure what the extra $$$ they charge is for. A Ferrari payment? I don't even need the exam. My prescription hasn't changed in years and shouldn't change for another 10 years (I'm currently in my early 30s). Such bologna. read more

I had a Groupon for the eye exam and frames, so I called on Saturday before Labor Day to schedule an appointment. Got one for the same day. Went in, and everyone there had a great attitude and sense of humor. I really wish I was better with names, because each of the ladies I worked with deserve huge props and individual shout-outs. I was allowed to browse the selection of frames without a hassle from any sales people. The girl who helped me didn't push me to the expensive frames, but looked at the styles that look best for my mug. I was told they would be ready in 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS. Monday was a holiday. Wednesday, I get a call and email to let me know my glasses were ready. If I'm doing my math right, that'd be ONE, (1) business day. The glasses fit great, look great, and are great in every way. I love the staff here, and have zero problem telling everyone how awesome the whole experience was! read more

I had a bad first experience here. I initially left a bad review for this place because I literally wrote it right after I left. It was in the heat of the moment and I was very upset. I do feel like I didn't receive the best service here and I still stand by my first review. The main reason being that I just felt like the two ladies who were there just did not really want to help me. The whole time, I just felt like I was their last priority. I feel as though when a customer walks in, you should drop what you're doing and greet them and make them feel welcomed. Unfortunately, I didn't get any of that. I decided to upgrade my rating to 4 stars because I do appreciate Dr. Rosenblum taking the time to reach out to me. After reading his initial comment back to me, I was about to leave another nasty comment back defending myself. But he reached out to me via email and he assured me that he would talk to his staff and make sure something like this never happens again. I could tell it definitely bothered him that I had a bad experience and he definitely made an effort to fix this with me. I know he probably has other things to do but the fact that he took the time to message me makes things a lot better. So I'm happy about that. read more

I'm bummed to say that after a few years of trusting my eye care to and buying my eyeglasses from the EyeSite in Newport Coast, I won't be going back. Last October I purchased a pair of expensive ic Berlin glasses at this location. They were constructed so that every time I took them off, my hair was pulled out, and one of the arms fell off repeatedly. At that time I had brought them in to EyeSite for repair, but the same problems persisted. I simply chose to put the glasses away and wear my old pair, as I thought the glasses were a lost cause. When I came in this week to look for new glasses, I relayed this story to a front office worker and was told that EyeSite has a one-month return policy- something I had never been informed of when I brought them in a year ago- and that now it was too late to do anything about it. I brought the glasses in that same week when I had my doctor's appointment, to show them that they were unworn, and asked for a credit toward another pair of glasses. I received more awkward explanations about their one-month policy. The experience left me feeling embarrassed, wronged, and also somehow IN THE WRONG for not knowing a policy I was never told in the first place. My advice to EyeSite is to truly value and believe in your customers when they tell you something happened. If you have a one-month return or exchange policy, clearly reiterate that policy at the time the problem arises, not a year later. Thank you. read more

I have been going to this optometry office since they were in the mall. I actually really like it here. The staff is friendly and doctors really care. Today's appointment started off rocky because they were late. I was the first appt and arrived early. Everyone except the receptionist was late. That means I waited about 15 mins to be seen. Since I have history at this office my appointment went smoothly. This particular review is about what happened while I was ordering my year supply of contact lenses. As my order was being placed, the receptionist walked over to look at my paperwork. She said because of my prescription I may be able to get my contacts free because they would be considered medically necessary. She said all she had to do was call the insurance to get approval. I think this was great customer service. She went above and beyond for me and I really appreciate that she wanted to save me money.
