Made a facial appt over the weekend.I had never been here but I liked that I called and then they sent a confirmation text. I let them know I was unsure what services I wanted. I had a consultation with Kay and we decided on a hydro facial and light therapy. It took an hour. There were snacks and drinks in the waiting room but I did not wait long. Once in the treatment room, I changed to a wrap around towel/dress and relaxed on the bed that was heated. Kay was very conscientious and thorough. She explained the steps and benefits of each. Fariba is wonderful. She made me feel so at ease and welcomed to my first appointment at Eyes on Skin. I've only had a few facials so am fairly new to skincare, but this was by far the best facial I've ever received. I visited using a gift certificate received over the holidays, but I'm thinking about returning on a more routine basis because of this positive visit! The space is very tranquil and soothing. I've been seeing Paula, the owner for several years now dating back to when she was at sola salons before she opened this spot. She's the best at what she does and is also just a really pleasant person, and I'm sure the rest of the staff are great too. I particularly love that they usually have some kind of facial special each month that I try to take advantage of. I've had more traditional facials, Hydrafacials, dermaplaning, laser treatments, eyebrow waxing, and eyelash tinting. I've gotten multiple compliments on my eyebrows, and I've been told I have great skin. The new location is super convenient for me, and the space is really calming. I just had the BEST detox facial today with Cassie! I've never had a facial that was as relaxing but still as effective as this one. She quickly assessed what my skin needed and did an enzyme treatment to soften my congested skin, proceeded with some pretty painless extractions, and then did a light treatment to kill bacteria. A nice massage later and my skin was glowing and I felt so relaxed. Afterwords we walked through products and I'm really excited to try what I bought. The space itself is beautiful and smells fantastic. I absolutely love that they give you a little snap towel to wear during the treatment that way you aren't in uncomfortable clothes. Liz is fantastic!!! I came from a well known McLean dermatology practice that did microneedling where I was rushed in and out and the doctor had no bedside manner. Liz welcomed me into a warm, beautiful room with a luxurious warmed bed and gave the service as a spa service and I never looked back. I found Paula by purchasing a Groupon for several services, and while I am sometimes wary of deals I read all of the reviews here and on Google and decided to take a chance since my skin was in desperate need of a pre-spring cleaning! I purchased a package which included microdermabrasion, chemical peel, light therapy and a mask and when I left an hour later my skin was visibly brighter and much less "dull" looking. I had a nice glow for the rest of the week which I normally never have since I find the hard water in DC to be really tough on my skin. We had a nice chat and I learned she opened the business in the fall after working in Pentagon City for a long time, and you should definitely take a chance and book with her. I just booked a second appointment for later this week (and you can book online!!) for another peel and dermaplaning. If you haven't tried dermaplaning, definitely give it a try: your skin will be as soft as the day you were born (really) and anything you use at home will really get into your pores on onto your skin without all of the hair/dead skin it removes. read more

I've been to a few different spas, had a couple facials & always felt like they were trying to "up sell" me. I'd walk away with hundreds of dollars worth of skincare that ultimately didn't work for my skin. I was so happy to meet with Cassie. She was really cool & down to earth. She recommended micro needling (which I scheduled) & told me my skincare routine was good as is, but gave me useful advice for products I could add in or switch out over time. The owner is incredibly discourteous and unprofessional. Today, Saturday, August 13th, I had an appointment scheduled for 4:30pm. Unbeknownst to me, the Eyes on Skin Spa moved locations from 3865 Wilson Blvd to 901 N Stuart Street. I arrived early for my appointment and couldn't get into the building, so I called to let them know I was outside. The owner asked me if I was at 901 N Stuart Street and I told her no. I was at the Wilson Blvd location upon which she told me they moved. I told her that I was just on the website last night to book the appointment and did not see any notification on the website to indicate they had moved. I then asked to speak to the esthetician, Kay, with whom I had my 4:30pm appointment. Kay came on the phone and I told her that I was on my way to the new location. However she informed me that she had another client and so would only be able to see me at 5:30pm. So after finding the new location and driving around to find parking, I sat in my vehicle to wait the almost hour to be seen at 5:30pm. Upon walking into the spa, I told them that I had an appointment and I was the one who was at the old location. The gentleman there asked me to have a seat. However, I wanted to look at the skin care products on the wall so I asked him if I had to have a seat. The owner, Paula, told me that I was late. And I told her that it was not my fault and mentioned as feedback that it is customary for businesses that move locations to have notifications on their website to indicate they've moved. Paula proceeded to rudely tell me that it is "her preference" not to have such notifications on her website and that she had sent out emails to people to let them know they moved to a new location. I told her that while she may have sent out emails, I didn't receive one. And then she rudely asked me why I didn't look at the website for the address. That is discourteous and unprofessional. I tried to explain to her that it would not occur to any reasonable person to look up an address if they had already been to Eyes On Skin. And I pointed out that my last visit was on Sunday, June 5. Today is Saturday, August 13. As she continued to blame me, I also expressed that I'm a mom of a toddler. And so I have to plan with my husband so that he's at home with our child. The issue I have is this. A simple apology goes a long way. The proper way to handle this would have been to say: "I am sorry that you did not receive the email notification of our recent move and new location. We did not see the need to place that notification on our website, but we can see how that would have been helpful. We appreciate the feedback and recognize how valuable your time is." Instead, Paula became agitated and was arrogant and dismissive of the fact that I was running around trying to find the new location and parking. She also told me I was an hour late (5:30pm), but I told her Kay told me to come at this new time because she had another client. Paula argued with me the entire time instead of simply apologizing and more importantly being open to customer feedback. And because I challenged her dismissive attitude, she told me she didn't feel comfortable with me being there. She was very agitated and kept on walking back and forth, to the back and out again, whining and complaining. I've literally never seen a professional business owner behave in this manner at all. She tried to play the victim when she was really the bully. I told them I would be leaving a review. And I left the establishment. Forget the fact that I wasted 1.5 hours and $5 in parking at both locations. I have no doubt that Eyes on Skin Spa does excellent skin care. However, Paula could use more professionalism, more maturity and less arrogance. And I do believe race played a significant factor in their treatment towards me. Shameful. Update in response to Paula's response: Eyes on Skin Spa Paula, as the owner, you are extremely dishonest. After you answered the phone (not the receptionist or any other staff) and told me I was at the wrong location and that you sent out emails when I told you I didn't see anything in your website to indicate a new location, I immediately asked to speak to Kay. I've known Kay for many many years. And I've never encountered such unprofessional behavior from Red Door Spa or any other establishment. Kay and I are friends. And I spoke with her on the phone as I was rushing to get to your new location. Kay did her best to direct me to your new location by identifying the Dunkin' Donuts and metro as places I should look for to find the new place. She also recommended places to park, such as the hotel. I have video Paula. And at no time was I yelling or disturbing guests. You simply are discourteous and arrogant. And from the video, you can see how agitated you were pacing back and forth and arguing with me. Shameful that it took me to post online reviews for you to finally apologize. read more

Incredibly accessible - clean - private. With COVID regulations no one is allowed to be wandering the hallways "looking" for their suite. You have to wait outside for your technician to come get you. It honestly made me look like I had gone on vacation and had gotten something equivalent to Botox. Paula is an amazing esthetician. Her spa is state of the art equipped with the latest technology. I hadn't had a facial in several years, so I was looking forward to having one done again. When I first arrived, Paula wanted to take a deeper look at my skin, so she used an advanced machine to analize my skin texture and any damage/aging issues. Based on the findings, we discussed the type of treatment that I needed most. Given that I had been dealing with rosacea for years, she recommended that I get the IPL treatment. It was a great experience and my skin already feels so much smoother and brighter. We also discussed the next treatments so I felt like we were making the decision together. When I first met Paula 9 years ago (through the recommendation of a friend/old co-worker) my face looked so bad. I went to several dermatologist and had facials with other estheticians who overpromised, yet undelivered. I didn't know what to expect going in, so I made sure to keep my expectations lower than normal just in case my face looked the same as when I came in, or worse. BOY....WAS...I....WRONG...AS...HELL!!! She turned out to be a magician with anointed hands, the messiah of all jacked-up faces everywhere. I noticed a HUGE difference after that 1st appointment, and from there I was hooked! I continued to go back to her again, and again, and again; even when I moved out-of-state for a few years, and she always provided me with excellent results. I think after about 6 sessions in, I started to notice a lot of people complimenting me on how smooth and even toned my face looked. There were even some that would ask what products I was using or how was I able to clear up my face so quickly. I even started getting noticed by people who never even knew I existed, but I'm more than certain they definitely saw me everyday at work smh lol. Bottom line: Paula completely transformed my face and boosted my confidence to a level I've never experienced before I meet her. To me she's the equivalent of going to a plastic surgeon's office, but better! She's sweet, fun, and so easy to talk to. Her prices are more than fair and well worth it! You won't regret going to her! She offers so many new and innovative services that you almost feel like you're a kid at a candy store b/c you can't decide on which one to choose from.
