I just finished my first eye appointment with Dr. Khaliq. And I am quite pleased. Dr. Khaliq lives…read moreup to a lot of the fine words other reviews have written about him here and elsewhere. He spent quality time answering my questions without rushing me - this is a big deal for me - but even more importantly his answers rang with intelligence & experience & compassionate sincerity. He came up with a solution for an issue I have been having with binocular alignment, and he did it in a way that the two previous eye-doctors with much fancier offices couldn't see. Guess even eye doctors can be blind to some things. An example of the compassionate attitude present in this office: I am considering LASIK and I asked him at the end, "If I was a family member of yours and said 'I want to do LASIK', what would you say to me about the surgery?" He earnestly said: " I consider all family and patients the same, so no need to worry - and I'll tell you..." This attitude was backed up by his receptionist who told me a story of how he had dramatically helped her and seen her free of charge when she didn't have insurance - now she works for him, full-heartedly. Good crew here. Humble office, simple room & everything you need: solid intelligence, experience & good heart.

From the owner: Dr. Khaliq is a board certified ophthalmologist and fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. He has…read moreover 30 years of experience as a private practitioner and is affiliated with most hospitals in the Greater Hartford area. He places an emphasis on compassionate medicine and prides herself on giving his patients the most personal care possible. In this vain, Dr. Khaliq personally handles all stages of your eye care from the moment you walk into the office. Dr. Khaliq has performed thousands of procedures from in-office surgeries to corneal transplants. Some common procedures are routine eye exams, Contact lens fitting, dry eyes, cataracts, Glaucoma, Corneal transplants, Strabismus (cross-eyes), laser surgeries, and cosmetic procedures (droopy or baggy lids).

Our visits are very structured, informational and we always leave knowing we had the best care. The office is always clean, well maintained; has informational pamphlets and videos playing; along with magazines and some light materials. Dr. Lindower has great technology and a very good setup for testing your eye care and the process is efficient and quick. I highly recommend him for your vision care.

I knew I was going to drop some change pretty hard when I needed new contacts. One of the things I…read moreappreciated most about TotalVision was that the group here is very transparent about costs from the minute you get in. In fact, there are 5 different tiers of contact pricing, so that helped me figure out what would fit me best. In addition, they let me try a certain type of contacts for 4 days and come back in to determine if it was a good fit and feel for me. That little gesture really helped solidify my confidence and eased the pain of the cost. Dr. Lindower was very kind and efficient without making me feel rushed. The other two people working here who helped during my appointment - I forget their names! - were also very nice. You could tell they do the same sequence with most of their patients, but I felt cared for and not just another paying customer. They answered my questions along the way and were very descriptive about what a certain test or a certain liquid was for. It was a little challenging getting a first-time appointment, but there was a lot more flexibility for the follow-up appointment. Definitely call with a bunch of time leeway in mind. I'd definitely recommend TotalVision.

Two weeks ago my husband was here for his first vision test and he was raving me about the doctors…read morehere. He asked me too, to go here. Been here this weekend. Easy appointments lovely staff and awesome doctors too. Got the eye exam done in 35 to 40 minutes. The staff on board were professional, knowledgeable and friendly, very comfortable. Not much waiting hours. Very lively experience! Thanks for the lovely experience, to the whole prudhomme team.

Longtime patient. My insurance pays for either contacts or glasses 1x per year, not both. Last year did contacts - fine. This year, was very specific about glasses Rx. Received the Rx, but also "just because I was there" was talked into a quick contact eval which amounted to putting in the lenses and reading the chart; no change in Rx. There was no corneal eval, no rotation check, nothing, but I paid some extra at checkout for the service. Then the problems: insurance wouldn't pay for glasses because Prudhomme had billed for a contact fitting. After several increasingly aggravating calls, they billed the insurer correctly (but initially told me I'd need to pay even more $ for the contact eval; eventually they relented). For several reasons I ended up buying glasses from another vendor my insurer recommended, and - surprise! Prudhomme had my PD Rx wrong (too narrow) by about 10mm. Not sure how this is going to go with the current glasses vendor, BUT after a couple hours, it occurred to me I bought glasses a year ago (2024) that were unwearable - turns out Prudhomme put the wrong PD on THAT (earlier) Rx too, complete waste of my money.

I have been a patient of Dr. Alpert for over 35 years. His office has always been very efficient…read moreand the staff friendly. My daughter and I just switched eye doctors, and based on his good reviews, we chose total vision…read moreeyecare, and Dr. Alpert. The first thing I noticed, upon walking in was how spacious, clean, and not crowded the office was. Our appointments were back to back; The women working at the front desk were both personable and helpful. We waited maybe five minutes each to be seen...not long at all. I was impressed especially by the technology in his office because my previous eye doctor did not have anything like this. I felt like I was at an arcade, with all of the different machines meant to measure my vision. It seemed like a very thorough exam that didn't just rely on what I said but actual computer technology. I don't know about you, but whenever I'm getting my eyes checked, I almost feel like it's a test and I might be answering it wrong. I felt like the various machines prevented me from second-guessing myself. Dr. Alpert himself was very friendly, personable, and asked multiple times if I had any questions about anything we were discussing. For many years, I had gone to a different eyecare center and would get a prescription and then buy my glasses online. Based on his very thorough exam, and recommendations from the doctor, we went with eyeglasses that did cost a significant amount more than I'm used to paying. However, I do believe that we will get what we pay for when they come in, which is expected to be in the next two weeks The young man who helped us pick out frames was very patient as I couldn't make up my mind. I appreciated that he pointed out some frames that were on sale for us since I was buying two pair and we do not have insurance for them. I really like supporting a local doctor who isn't part of a big fancy conglomeration and I look forward to staying with this practice for many years to come. I just had a really good feeling there today.
