I was in town for 2 days for business and bent my glasses frame. Eyes on Broadway truly saved me by getting me in quickly and carefully repairing my frames! Wish they had a store where I live! read more

I've came in here multiple times and there is a guy who works here who is extremely rude with horrible customer service. The shop also increases their pricing above the suggested retail price from the brands they carry. A quick google search on some of their product and they out price most of the market due to their high markups. read more

Great selection of glasses. Great customer service. If you're looking for stylish glasses this is a must stop. They carry high end designer frames. If you're into fashionable frames that make a statement and want options on lenses they will do the job. I've been getting glasses here for the last few years and they do not disappoint. The staff is knowledgeable about the products and are not afraid to give you their honest opinion. Nothing feels worse than having buyers regret, and with eye glasses you should feel comfortable and confident. The staff will be honest enough to make sure you have the right pair of frames. Stop in and try some glasses on to see the new you! read more

I've been going here for a few years for glasses, LOVE the selection and the assistance provided in picking out the right eyewear for me. I always get tons of compliments and feel very happy with my choice. At my most recent visit I also transferred my care here. Dr. Thavorn was thorough and patient. I felt very happy with the visit. She's a great provider. read more

Stellar selection of frames. Today I went to choose some new frames and had a wonderful time with Jordan choosing from a plentitude of fantastic frames. Apparently the good stuff was on backorder because of the pandemic, but now Eyes on Broadway has frames you just have to see. As usual the service was excellent and Jordie also adjusted an old pair of Alain Mikli glasses for me. Bravo Eyes on Broadway!! read more

Eyes On Broadway - Optometrists Near Me - Portland, Oregon

Amazing selection of frames and super friendly, helpful staff. All the doctors are great to work with as well, and very thorough. Unfortunately their lab has trouble making my lines trifocal lenses which usually results in the lenses being uneven or set in the frame crooked. I've begun having my lenses made elsewhere and relying on Eyes on Broadway for everything else. read more

I think I've ordered six or seven pairs of glasses from Eyes on Broadway. Drs. Alexa Thavorn and Thomas Barreto are top notch - professional and thorough, willing to answer all my questions with patience and kindness. I've tried other optometrists and frame shops in Portland and I keep returning to Eyes on Broadway because no one has done it better. My experience has been that they are truly focused on individualized client care. Of course, I appreciate the great selection of frames without pushy sales. I also GREATLY appreciate the fact that this business has remained focused on the profession and have left political statements out of the business - seemingly a rarity these days. read more

Eyes on Broadway stands out in every way! Been coming for years and have had nothing but wonderful experiences. - Doctors are thorough, patient, explain everything - Staff is super friendly and helpful - They use the newest technology which means they are on top of your eye health - The office is always clean - And they have the largest assortment of gorgeous frames in every imaginable style. Many designer quality. The Italian designed glasses are in a class of their own! For the past few years I have been seeing Dr. Lindy. She is the best! So smart, kind, and patient. She explains everything in detail. For the first time, I understand what every test is for, what is measures, why it's important, and how to interpret the results. No longer do I squeeze my eyes and try to get a 100 on the eye chart Tests (I know, crazy, because if you need glasses this does not help! But I am type A!) I now answer based on what I see without squinting and trying to get them all right! Lately my eyes have been dry so Dr. Lindy recommended daily lenses rather than the 30 days lenses I've used for 20 years. She gave me samples so I could try before committing. They are perfect. She also sent me home with a list of recommendations on how to improve the dryness. To give my eyes a break, I have switched to wearing glasses most days. I've bought many pairs of glasses over the years but they stayed in my night table. Not much help there! The frames here are so gorgeous, a variety of styles that make it easy for everyone to find a pair that enhances their look. I have two pairs and about to buy my third! Most important, I actually wear them and like wearing them! Highly recommend Dr. Lindy and the entire practice at Eyes on Broadway! read more

What's not to like- nice people, great selection and good prices. And I had the best eye exam that I have ever had in the many, many years of wearing glasses. The staff is knowledgeable and they have eye exam equipment that I have never experienced outside a full on medical setting. Excellent, excellent care and it came with the referral to a ophthalmologist for my more involved eye issues. I have moved from Seattle and needed a new doctor- and this very busy women followed through and I got a call from the new eye clinic. And more icing on this particular cake- a huge selection of frames and, maybe it's just because I am used to Seattle prices, extremely well priced. And the people who work there were knowledgeable, fun and I left today with my new glasses. I love them. And they adjusted my old frames and repaired my partners dark glasses that conveniently decided to come apart in the car while waiting for me. Highly recommended. read more

I booked my first eye exam in the last 4-5 years here during the pandemic. I went off prior good reviews and took a chance, and wasn't disappointed. I scheduled an appointment online, they followed up within a day and set everything up and set a date, I showed up on time and was seen within a few minutes. The staff was great and friendly at the door, the eye doctor was great and thorough, and then I sat with James to try on glasses and had the most fun I've ever had with the process. James really went beyond and above to make a good experience. He asked me some simple questions to learn a lot about me with a little info, then picked out frames for me to try on and had a LOT of options to choose from. It was honestly difficult to pick with all the great options, so we pulled in a 2nd and a 3rd person for a decision lol. I ended up with 2 pairs of glasses and I couldn't be more excited for them to arrive. I would absolutely recommend them to a friend. I'll update with photos of the glasses later when they arrive (: read more

I updated my prescription. One of the workers help me find a pair of glasses that I could afford. I I have progressive lenses. I didn't have any adjustment time with the new prescription, which is unheard of for me, with Progressive lenses. It usually takes me a couple weeks to get used to them. With this prescription I walked out the door seeing more clearly but no adjustment time needed. read more

Wow! Who knew shopping for glasses could be such a fun and memorable experience? Eyes on Broadway definitely did. :) My mom and I will never forget our first visit and we're so excited to come back again and again! First off, Eyes on Broadway is very COVID conscious. They had all their procedures down and were super clear about what they needed from us. Trying on glasses with masks on is difficult but they helped us figure it out. I don't wear glasses but I visited to support my mom. She was purchasing new frames and lenses. The prices were super reasonable and I was beyond impressed with the variety of styles present. They had so many styles, colors, and shapes! Whether you want something fun, classic, or unique, Eyes on Broadway will have it. We worked with Darrin and he was FANTASTIC to work with. He was enthusiastic, patient, and honest. His energy and passion made our visit 10000000x better. So excited to come back and purchase some frames for myself. This shopping experience was so so so fun. read more

Truly appreciate this well executed business for many reasons: expert care and exams; professional service on all aspects from reception to screenings to exams to fittings to billing. The office is sparkling and well tended and the people here are warm and friendly. As I selected a pair of new glasses, a fitting specialist expertly managed a complaint from another customer. She listened, explained why the glasses were beyond repair, empathized and moved the conversation to a productive conclusion in about three minutes. Easy to applaud this level of professionalism, care and amazing selection of frames. I also happen to love all three frames I've purchased here over the years. read more

Amazing selection. Excellent customer service. Truly amazing selection. Frames you will never find it anywhere else.

I stopped by Eyes On Broadway looking to purchase two new glass. They were recommended by my educator work mates. I stopped in and I was the only customer in the store. The counter person said someone would be out in five minutes. Well 15 minutes went by and no one appeared. I had made eye contact with the employee I spoke to when coming in a few times while waiting. So at 20 minutes I headed out. The same employee saw me leaving and said "Welcome in, someone will be with you in 5 minutes." My only comment was " I hope they can help you with you memory." read more

I drive all the way in from WA state so I can still get seen here. The entire staff is top notch. Professional yet approachable. They never fall short of exceeding my expectations year after year. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a new eye doctor. read more

My doctor is meticulous in her examination and descriptions of findings (positive so far!). The pre-exam staff is professional and courteous and friendly. The person who helped me by adjusting my older glasses is very talented and saved me one replacement (safety glasses). They have a tremendous selection to choose from. They specialize in creative boutique brands, but carry quality brands for a more limited budget. I've been going here for about a decade now, and I've never regretted my switch from my prior provider (who I had to leave because I moved). read more

Easily the best eye doctor appointment I've ever been to. I interacted with four people: the front desk, a prescreener for my eyes, my eye doctor, and someone who helped me select glasses; every single person was fun, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful! I did not think my Monday morning eye appointment would turn out to be one of the highlights of my day, but it definitely did. A wonderful, local, queer-owned business. I will absolutely be back. read more

I have been going to EOB for over 15 years, always seeing Dr Boersma. She is amazing, always welcoming, and always remembers where we left off our conversation a year before! Dr Boersma takes the time necessary to get the prescription dead on and pays close attention to my requirements (computer, distance, driving etc). Also, I have a difficult prescription to fit properly (have had alignment issues with other providers) and have come to trust the optometric staff to get it right. read more

I absolutely love Eyes on Broadway. Staff, AMAZING. Optometrists, AMAZING. Interior/Atmosphere, AMAZING. Eyeglass selection, AMAZING. They made me feel so welcomed during my first visit (and my only visit so far). I got there 10 minutes early and had a few questions about my current glasses (which I assumed I would bring up during or after my appt.) and they were happy to help me with that BEFORE my actual appointment, what the heck!? Mind blown. I love this place. Do yourself a favor and all those other places you've tabbed out, close them all and call Eyes on Broadway. You should've already been a new patient yesterday. Hop to it!!! read more

I really couldn't be happier with Eyes on Broadway. I have never had a problem scheduling an appointment. They have never made me wait for more than a few minutes. They have the most remarkable ability to adjust glasses. Go there. You'll be happy too. 17-Oct-2015 Update: Just to let you know, Eyes on Broadway is still awesome. I went for my annual eye exam a few days ago, and they still have the same superb service. They even perfectly adjusted my sunglasses (not purchased there) for me. 26-Oct-2019 Update: I'm still loving Eyes On Broadway. Everyone I've recommended to them have told me that they are very happy too. read more

I never needed glasses and haven't really been to the eye doctor sense I was like 7yo but with my insurance and recommendations from my co-workers I decided to make an appointment. I felt comfortable and got walked through every step that was happening before it happened. It turned out I needed glasses and was helped through that whole process as well! they were prompt with my glasses and willing to work with me on getting them fast before I left on vaca. Fast forward to having my glasses for a week, and my frames started slipping and sliding. I walked in and need led some help with that issue, expecting to wait a little. They took me right way and help me until they got it perfect (adding a few rubber pieces behind my ears and adjusting my noise piece) Anyways the point is... this whole team is AMAZING. I'm very thankful that I was sent here and have recommended other to go sense. read more

I came in for a regular eye exam, and the doctor was very friendly and walked me through the exam. I was surprised to learn I needed glasses -- it was a "whoa" moment when my vision was corrected! I've never "loved" a doctor's office like I love my eye doctor. Dr. Barreto is the best eye doctor I've ever been to, and I've been wearing glasses for most my life. Love Eyes On Broadway! James was very knowledgeable and super fun to work with as we explored their amazing selection of frames. We love our new glasses, and they even came in ahead of schedule! Four thumbs up! read more

I had the most wonderful experience at Eyes on Broadway. First of all, they respected my time. After a quick check-in, a friendly professional did some quick screening tests (using very impressive state-of-the-art equipment). Then I got to meet Dr. Heidi Boersma. She was easy to talk to, very knowledgeable, and expertly took me through the remaining tests. In no time I was with the amazing Traci, who presented me with several styles to choose from. She is up on her fashion, and hooked me up with some awesomely glam frames that I love! I got all this done on my lunch hour and was back to work on time. When I got my glasses, I gasped in wonder at the marked improvement in my sight. I can't thank them enough. Their team runs like a well-oiled machine, all working together with the customer at the center. I couldn't be more pleased, and will recommend them to everyone! Thank you! read more

Great eyeglass styles! I appreciate they are so careful with Covid, but there is no reason to embarrass a customer. I was in the wrong by touching eyeglasses I may want to try on( do not regularly shop eyeglasses). However, once I touched glasses, the sales woman loudly said from the back ' she's touching everything', and then a guy came out and started spraying everywhere I had been. I was so embarrassed.' Lots of places to spend 1200.00 on eyeglasses, so I won't be back. read more

Everyone was terrific at E on B, from my arrival through the testing and selection processes. I was impressed that person helping me select frames really took her time, and took great care to find eyewear that looked good on me without rushing me or doing any kind of hard sell. Same for the doctor who tested my vision; she was happy to answer my questions and make sure I was fully aware of what my test scores signified. Eyes on Broadway is definitely my new go-to place for eyewear. read more

I love everyone at Eyes on Broadway - doctors & staff alike are friendly, collaborative, and they have the best eyewear selection!

Weird, have I not reviewed Eyes yet? About six months after I got my first real job and stopped relying on my parents' healthcare (through Kaiser) I moved over to NE Portland, and found myself needing to renew my contact prescription - I'd gone to Hawthorne Vision previously, but I decided to look around in my new neighborhood to see what was available. I went to Eyes on Broadway pretty much on a whim, and I've been a face ever since - that was like two or three years ago now. The people are super nice, the prices are about what you'd expect (not exactly cheap, but then optometry stuff is never cheap) and they take real good care of you. For instance - I managed to drop my laptop on my glasses the other day, popping the lens out of the frame and busting the bottom wire - I walked in without an appointment, and five minutes later they'd fixed it, gratis. If you're looking for a new place to get an eye checkup, do yourself a favor and stop by. read more

Best optometrist or frames shop in Portland. I've been coming here for my annual eye exams for about 8 years now. I think the main differentiator here is the the customer service is over-the-top great. They really, really take care of you here. It's worth noting that when I first asked glasses wearing friends (a bunch of tech geek hipsters!) where to go for an optometrist and a good frame selection, the unanimous recommendation was Eyes On Broadway. This place has had a stellar reputation for years. And now I join the chorus. As for the optometry, I see Dr. Heidi, and she's wonderful and personable. The rest of the staff are equally friendly, respectful, and professional. As for the frame shop/retail end of the store, it's amazing. They probably have the best selection of quality frames in Portland. Lots of great stuff to choose from. Of course I suppose this depends on where you are in the prescription lens food chain. It's certainly higher end, spendy fair, well suited to both the fashionista and hipster set. If any of the following descriptions fit you, you probably won't like Eyes On Broadway and you will likely be better suited for someplace like Lenscrafters: -Price is your bottom line (glasses as sheer commodity). -You don't mind walking around looking like a mental patient. -You have five or more children with poor vision, and buying all those glasses is gunna hurt! -You don't mind it if no one ever finds you sexually attractive again. However, if you care about your appearance, intend to have sex in the future, and like to be treated like you are a VIP, this is the place for you. Back to the customer service: this is a place you can pop into anytime to get a frame adjustment--completely for free. And while it's obviously easy to give good customer service when all goes well, I think a more telling experiment is to see how the customer service fares when things don't go so well. So allow me to offer two examples: I once bought a pair of expensive plastic frames, which I smashed inside a Murphy Bed about a two weeks after my 90 warranty was up. Heartbroken, I eventually went into Eyes on Broadway to see if I could salvage the lenses and buy a new set of frames--in order to minimize my loss. They looked at my sad, contorted frames and said, "looks like a defect to me, let's send them out for replacement." And with that, they got me a replacement set for NO CHARGE. On another occasion I bought sunglasses and brought them to Eyes on Broadway to have them sent out for prescription lenses. They sent them out but had trouble with the manufacturer, who got the prescription wrong. They had to send the frames back several times to remedy the issue (which was in no way Eyes on Broadway's fault). Because of the delay, they gave me the prescription for half price. Class act. I think these people are great. read more

Everyone at Eyes On Broadway is professional, warm, and kind. I never feel rushed whether in an exam, shopping for frames, or working with the front desk staff. I've been going there for almost two decades and have referred many friends there. I once tried another office because they offered vision training and I just wanted to try it out, in the process I realized how incredibly wonderful EOB is and appreciated them even more when I returned the following year for my annual exam. I see Dr. Boersma or Dr. Barreto, but I've heard good things from friends about other doctors there, too. My most recent appointment was in the time of Covid and I was very pleased with their safety measures and felt completely at ease throughout my visit. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of a fantastic optometry office! read more

I'm so grateful to Dr. Chiu at Eyes on Broadway!! I had some odd flashing in the periphery of my eye and was quite concerned. Also, confused as to how to address it medically... I couldn't get in to any optometrists in the area for 10 days then called Eyes on Broadway. I explained my concern and they found a slot for me that afternoon!! Dr. Chiu did a very thorough exam and provided a complete explanation of this age related phenomena. Her bedside manner was awesome and I felt very confident of her abilities. I was concerned if it were to worsen and she offered a plan were that to happen. Wow, I can't say enough about this business and Dr. Chiu, thank you!!!! I've been coming to Eyes on Broadway for 19 years, or since I was 8 years old (go ahead and do the math), and will continue to until for some god foresaken reason I can't anymore. I come but once a year, and it's like I'm family. Everyone, from the people at the front desk, to the opticians, to the optometrists are just amazing and friendly. I love these folks. The office itself is so modern and sleek, not at all reminiscent of a doctor's office as is normally the case. All of the staff are super fashionable, too, fitting with the decor. All of the equipment they use is top notch. The camera to photograph the inside of your eye and the uh...other weird eye machines...you won't find better. The selection of glasses is guaranteed to have something for everyone and covers all price budgets. The staff knows just how to please you and help you find what you want/need.
