This women was demeaning and I felt uncomfortable under her presence. She told me there was nothing wrong with my eyes yet they cry water constantly And bloodshot 24hours a day. Quick appointment turnover time! I went here for the first time ever in January. Staff was very professional and the exam rooms and waiting area were immaculate. Dr.Vicki was very professional. I do not wear glasses but it appeared like they had a large selection available out on the floor. It is located right by the comedy club. Switched here from another provider and it was great. Right after I got my new glasses they slipped off my head and got dismantled by my weed wacker. They put them back together right away and was able to take them on vacation. Two thumbs up. read more

Today was my first visit to Eyepolis. My appointment was for a routine eye exam. Even though I do not have a co-pay for a routine eye exam I was told because of my age it would be considered a "medical" exam and was charged a $35 co-pay. After confirming with UPMC, I should not have been charged this $35. They also tried to talk me into an additional charge which would have brought the total to $65. I then waited 40 minutes to see the doctor. Upon asking about medications I was currently taking, she asked for my written list because she said she did not know how to spell them! No more than 5 minutes into the initial pre-exam she said that I had an attitude and said that if I did not want to be there that I SHOULD LEAVE! Who in their right mind would continue to sit in the chair after that comment? Upon leaving Dr. Vicki stated "I don't ever want to see you in this office again" - real nice. UPMC should really consider the screening process for who is part of their network. The only reason I went to Eyepolis was because it was convenient, but word of caution..........drive 20 miles out of your way if you have to and save yourself some aggravation to be treated with some respect. The front desk staff is very friendly and accomodating. I was able to get an appt the same day I called. I needed new contacts and most places charge a "fitting fee" or "sitting fee" for contact appointments. When I called, I was told it was $40, which is in line which most other eye docs. At my appointment, Dr. Vicki and I decided to change my brand of lenses to a different one for a better fit. I recieved a trial pair and upon check-out, found out that this change in lenses cost me 3x as much as I was initially quoted. The contacts themselves were the same price, but the sitting fee went up to $120, because "she spent extra time with me" to change my brand. I was the only patient in the office and I did not ask her a lot of questions or take up a lot of time. She was the one who suggested I try a different brand. I spent no more time with her than I do on my annual visit with my previous optomotrist. I dont think it's fair to charge someone $120 to change a brand of contacts-- especially without disclosing this price difference upfront or on any signage. My contact allowance is $150, so now I was left with $30 to buy a year's supply of contacts. I bought one box for one eye and still had to pay $45 out of pocket. I really like going there for my eye exams. Dr. Vicky is very knowledgeable, friendly and easy to talk to. She is extremely thorough with her exam, answers and any lingering concerns. The staff is very accommodating and friendly as well. I was stuck in traffic for my appointment and they made it work. I was 1/2 an hour late, but I was still out on time. That's customer service!! I have bought several pairs of glasses there. The frames have ranged from $160 to over $500 when I'm looking at the selections. These are slightly higher, I think, then your big chains; but well worth it. The pairs I have purchased in the past have lasted several years. The new ones I just picked out were very reasonable-in fact one pair without insurance was only costing me $68 as they were on sale. You certainly have to look around and pick a good pair for your from a look as well as a price point. But, the staff can work with you. The location is terrific and their hours are very accommodating for the average daylight worker. I have never had to take time away from work to see them. They do have Saturday hours as well. read more

I've had two visits with this provider. The first was up front with pricing, and provided service to find a nice pair of glasses with minimal out of pocket expense. The second visit was the complete opposite. Frontline staff did bare minimal and I was quoted a small fee and uphold on some type of fundus photograph of my eyes over the standard no charge pupil dialation. Was quoted around $25-$30 for the service and they billed my insurance in addition to the charge. I ended up paying a service charge, plus a copay and deductible that was increased based on them charging more to insurance. This office is very non transparent on fees and will Bill you past new notices on your first bill almost a year after the service. I would not recommend and will not return or have anyone I previously referred return either. Money grab service and attitudes when you question their billing process! read more

My aunt recommended Eyepolis to me several years ago, and I won't go anywhere else. Dr. Viki always gives me the best advice about my astigmatism and other concerns, and I feel that my eyes are the best they've been in glasses since I started seeing her. She takes the time to explain what she's going to do, the results of what she found (if anything) and then we game plan from there. She takes into consideration my concerns (ie: I work in an Operating Room with bright lights and low humidity, can't wear contacts, eyes get dry, etc.) and offers her professional opinion. Dr. Viki is always pleasant and has a great sense of humor. The coolest part is that her equipment isn't from 1950. State-of-the-art ophthalmology/optometrist stuff here, kids!! The office staff (Shannon, Christi, and Michelle) are amazing ladies!! Always pleasant, remember my name, etc. They've helped me pick out frames that I never would have thought to look at and they've ended up being a signature eyeglass for me. Sooo many compliments on my frames!! They helped me get replacement lenses in my older frames, which the warranty had expired on by one day. They always explain my costs upfront as we're going over my insurance, so price has never been a surprise for me. There are designer frames in the store, so if you crave fashionably durable eyeglasses, you are going to pay more for them. There are lower priced frames, as well. If you want cheap pieces of crap, I feel you'd be better off going somewhere else. I have had two frames for over 3 years now and I wear them every hour that I'm not sleeping. Caroline Abram frames LAST!! My point is, if you want an eye doctor who cares about your vision, see Dr. Viki. She genuinely wants to help you see the best you can. Unfortunately, I can't even comment on Dr. Christopoulos because I didn't even get an opportunity to meet her. The incompetent front office staff gave me the option of paying extra to having mapping test done on my eyes or have my appointment cancelled. Very friendly staff, great service, and very easy to make appointments. The only reason this review isn't five stars is that I found their selection of frames to be pretty one-dimensional: there were lots of "hip" frames, but I was looking for something more sporty and/or urban. I eventually found a decent set of frames, but they don't compare at all in heft or sturdiness to my former Oakley frames. Oh, and they don't grind lenses on site, so be prepared to wait a week or two for your glasses to be ready. read more

The vision exam was well done. Dr Vicki is very thorough with her eye exam. However that is where the good part ends. My advice is ask to be given your eye glass prescription and purchase your glasses elsewhere.. The eye glass frames are VERY EXPENSIVE , the price for the frame alone starts at $500. This does not include the prescription, anti- glare, and all the other things you have to add to make your glasses seem not too thick ( for higher prescriptions). Even with insurance you will pay close to $1000. Without insurance it was over $1300.00. For this price you can easily find nice frames ANYWHERE else. The selection of eye glass frames is limited and you will be pressured by the "well meaning" staff to pick from the limited selection. The part that is the most frustrating and the main reason for my poor review is that once you purchase your glasses and leave with them they ( the staff ) are not very inclined to correct problems. Did not return phone calls, L O N G wait time for adjustments ( I was told doctor was shopping) . You are made to feel the glasses are perfect, there are no mistakes and YOU are the one that has the problem. It is now 3:30 pm as I write this review ( I arrived at 1 pm, staff was out eating lunch until 2:40 pm) and I am still waiting for the doctor to check my 2 week old glasses , which I still can't see out of properly. It may still be a long wait because although the staff sent her a text she is shopping. It is quite obvious that once you have paid for your glasses the level of concern from the staff drastically diminishes. read more

Went here for the first time. My cousin recommend it. Everything went well at first with the check up but went down hill from there. I asked for a complete check up plus a diabetic chech. The only thing she was a diabetic check. As I was leaving my eyes dilated my previous eye doctor would give me sunglasses. Dr Viki never offered me anything plus never me a report about my eyes. The only reason I went here is because it was closer. I Normally went to Vision Care, which I am going back to. read more

Dropped in on my way to Verizon next door. Just skimming frames etc. Nice, clean ...modern feel to it. There's a nice/hip selection of frames. Average price ($100-$200). Now, the frames in the cases are $400+ ouch! Not the same ole cookie cutter crap as other places. Staff is really nice. The owner (Viki Christopoulos) came out and showed me a few frames. Last September I went for new glasses. I picked out a Nike frame and went for the order. I was told that my lenses having a scratch resistant coating on them would be covered for 1 year and would be replaced at no additional cost to me. So I purchased from Eyepolis. 2 weeks later I came in with a scratch on my lens and the 1 lens was replaced. Now within the 1 year of purchase I called and reported that both my lenses were scratched and I wanted a replacement. I was told you have already used your 1 replacement and that is all we cover. I asked to speak to the manager, and the lady said im the manager. I argued the point that I was told it was free replacements of my damaged lenses for 1 year not 1 free replacement in 1 year. I was told that I was wrong and was not told that. I emphatically stated that I was not wrong and that this is bait and switch tactics and that I would do my best to expose this about this business. The manager said I was rude and I said if you think im rude for asking what was told to me let me come down to the store and I will tell you in person. I was told that she would call the police If I came to the store? Really what good business practices. I asked to speak to the owner. She said Ms. Vicky I with patients now. I received a voice mail from Ms. Vicky and tried to call back 2 times each time she was with patients. MMM then I got a call from the manager who said that the lab would replace my lenses and she would call me when they arrive. I got the call and sent my daughter who was on her day off from work to get my lenses changed. My daughter called me and said both the lenses that were replaced have scratches on them and the manager Ms. Shannon said to tell me that im all out or warranty. Bait and switch is against the law and I am filing a complaint with the BBB. read more

I will be reporting them to the insurance company to investigate them for insurance fraud. For a medical eye exam the dr says she is "short staffed" so she needs to finish the exam at another time. Then when coming back for the 2nd part the receptionist says she has to bill it to the insurance company again as a regular exam and you have to pay another copay. And if you don't want to pay it you can go somewhere else. The exam should have been completed at the first visit. Since when is it a patient's fault if you are "short staffed". The first visit should have been rescheduled for when you can complete the exam you scheduled for in the first place. read more

I loved my whole experience at Eyepolis! Dr Viki is wonderful! I have never had quality one on one time with a Doctor and Dr Viki gave me just that. Wide selection of glasses to choose from and I walked out with a great pair of sunglasses. Wow dont even know what happened. Arrived on time and waited 40 minutes before my exam. Frames extremely overpriced and selection lacking (no high fashion frames Prada, Versace etc). Handed my glasses over to the receptionist who gave them back to me stating " you better take them back with you, the doctor won't remember to take them back with her if I give them to her". What an amazing vote of confidence! Then I went in for my exam with the "doctor" who lectured me on sleeping in contacts for 3 full minutes and was told if I am going to sleep in my contacts I might as well leave now and "go to a chain eyewear store as it is not worth the $40 to blind me". Refused to give me an eye exam because she didn't believe I wouldn't sleep in my lenses and because I requested a prescription at end of exam. Great, just what a 31 year old professional needs: an unsolicited lecture in a patronizing tone from a pretentious holier than thou "medical doctor who specializes in corneas" AKA an effing optometrist!!! Each visit went from bad to worse. As long as the Dr. thinks you think she is totally right then all is good. When she gives you the wrong prescription and you return and she pretends it's because of your eyes not her error watch out (the women working out front, who was leaving in a week because she couldn't stand working there told me that I was right...the Dr. had made a mistake)! Never so insulted by a condescending Dr. in my life. Better yet, when my glasses broke the front staff did nothing to help (they used to have amazing front staff, now they are all as cold as the Dr.). I had to go thru the manufacturer and got referred to a wonderful shop in Ohio, who also sold that brand of frames, who helped me when Eyeopolis wouldn't. I could go on and on about the absurd conversations that happened in that place when I went in there to fix my issues but it would be a chapter. My tip....go elsewhere! read more
