I go to a lot of eyeglass places here in Bakersfield. I can tell you that the staff here is friendlier than other staff anywhere else that I have gone. Right when you walk in, there's so many frames to choose from. There's high-end frames and regular frames. And I know that I'm going to be back for some Burberry frames. But I went in there today to take an old pair of frames and put new lenses in them and it was very quick. I have a lot of problems with my eyes so my glasses are gonna take a few weeks to make but regular Glasses only take about a day. I am really glad that I found this place. It was probably $100 cheaper than where I normally go. It wasn't that crowded. I went on a Monday morning. I will update when I get my frames in hand. read more

We switched over from Stanton and I'm so glad we made the switch. All of the associates are much more friendly and helpful than we've ever been treated at Stanton. All the staff member's treated me well and were very helpful. Two employees really stood out - Eddie & Evelyn. Their professionalism and customer service were exceptional. I ended up ordering some contacts through them and they ended up giving me a free eye exam for doing so. Plus, they told me about a rebate for my Acuvue contacts. We have been going to this Eyemart for almost 6 years for my children's glasses starting when my son was 10 months. We have worked with Jerry every single time and he has always gone above and beyond. It can be difficult to fit young children with new frames but we have had no issues and a fantastic experience each time. I should have written a review years ago but am just now getting to it. The staff that assisted us today were Jerry, Alexi, and Noe (not sure how to spell that). They went out of their way to show my kids the ins and outs of their glasses, it was greatly appreciated. Other times that we've gone over the years, every single staff member was extremely helpful and amazing with our kids. I recommend this store to everyone I know and will continue to do so. I was in Eyemart Express yesterday evening. My prescription has changed, and with the warranty I purchased I was allowed to receive my updated Rx in the glasses I had purchased ( within the year) at no cost. I was seen by Hilda. As usual she provided with with the utmost professionalism and efficiency as she has done at every visit that I have experienced when seeing her. I always appreciate her knowledge, and being a very confident and experienced optician definitely shows. Although most of the opticians are very qualified, She has always been one of my favorites. I can only hope that Eyemart Express recognizes how comforting it is as the consumer to see a familiar face year after year in a market that seems to have a large turnover with employees. When I walked in, I was greates with an obviously uninterested "Welcome". I began to browse frames while waiting for one of the two clerks to finish with their current customers. While waiting, three other people came in behind me. Once the clerk called one of them to assist them, I noticed there was a clipboard you had to sign into. Came here because my husband needed glasses quick and this was inexpensive and a good selection. We had our own perscription in hand and it took 2 hours to make the glasses. The ad is a little misleading because if you are over 40 you probably have a bifocal and it doesn't apply to the cheap plans but we got out of there with designer frames, tint, few other add ons and it was 2 pair under $250. Our optometrist is always $700+ so I felt like it was a good deal and he was happy. It was a Saturday so there was a little wait but not too bad. I'd go back, along with a recommending this for anyone who needs same day glasses or who are on a budget. Actually if you are not looking for those super high end styles these guys carry almost anything that would satisfy most people. Give them a try it was surprisingly pleasant. read more

Very unhappy with Eyemart right now. First, when I got the glasses I was told that it would be about 3 hours until my glasses were done so I left; I had to be somewhere and the drive was quite long. About 35 minutes later I got a text saying that my glasses were ready but I was already about 30 miles away and wasn't about to come back. But that's not the problem today. About 3 months ago, I paid about $260 for 2 pair of glasses and that was a good price. But now both lenses keep falling out. I put them away because I was afraid to use them in that condition. I misplaced them for about a week and found them this morning. I was so happy because I'm leaving for Alaska and I told them that I only had a few hours before I had to leave. They told me it would take 5 hours and that there was no way to speed up the machine. So...at one of those two events either I was lied to or they were terribly mistaken. Because the first time they told me it would take 3 hours and it only took about 35 minutes, I'm sure they could verify the times if they keep record. But now miraculously it takes 5 hours and it's impossible to speed up the machine. This place is supposed to be known for good service and quickly providing your glasses. The lady who helped me was nice, the staff is always nice but like I said, something happened and it was either a lie or someone was terribly mistaken. PLUS! I'm not happy with how cheaply these glasses were put together. The only reason I didn't give them a 1 Star is because of previous purchases but this will be the last purchase me or my family makes here. Horrible, I live in Orange County but was in Bakersfield for a few days and needed new contacts. The optometry department is terrible. They are rude from start to finish and an eye exam is 130. You can just got to Costco or Walmart and save your money. The eye Dr just wants YOUR MONEY that's all they care about. The moment I went inside the front desk girls were SO rude ( learn customer service skills please) Long story short I was prescribed contacts that were too heavy for my eyes and called to get a new type and the DR wouldn't give it to me and wanted me to come back to Bakersfield. Lucky my Optometrist in Orange County was able to help me honestly and not just take my money. I will never ever go back to this terrible place and do not recommend it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

The manager Travis is fantastic the tech took it on herself to change my husbands RX to a reading glasses instead of what the dr had intended when he got them he couldn't see out of them at all. So we ask for the manager after being told nothing could be done. Travis not only fixes the issues but upgraded his glasses to no line transitions. Which we had wanted but couldn't afford & Travis is very concerned with his customers and wants them happy which he does with out a doubt I will be going in to get my glasses in Dec can't wait & intend to deal with Travis. I needed new eye glasses and have no insurance, so was paying cash. First I went to Target and then I went to EyeMart Express. I walked in to EyeMart and there was no line, the store was clean and had a huge selection of frames to choose from. I ordered a pair of eye glasses and paid half the price that Target had quoted me. My glasses from EyeMart were literally ready in 20 minutes (Target gave me a date 2 weeks out). I will definitely come back to EyeMart for future eyewear! read more

Hubby found this place online so we made the drive up north to check it out. The eye dr is seperate but I was able to do a walk in for my exam then pick out my glasses in the same building which was super convinient. It was pretty packed because of back to school but it still went pretty quick. We were helped by Hilda, who was super patient and very helpful in helping me choose some nice pairs of glasses. They have a coupon out too. I ended up with 2 pairs of glasses and a pair of prescription shades. Being as I live over an hour away out of town, being able to pick up my glasses the same day is awesome! When I got home I realized one pair seemed a little lose. I went back the following week and they took me in right away and tightened them for me. Will def be coming back for another pair of shades soon! read more

My card was hacked immediately after using it at Eyemart Express. While I was at the counter waiting for the card to process Hilda kept telling me to be patient because the machine takes forever. Sounds like I got bamboozled. I'm livid. I hardly ever use this card and hadn't used it in weeks prior so the bank is confident that Eyemart Express is the culprit. I leave for a trip tomorrow without access to this card and it is a HUGE inconvenience. The bank caught over $500 worth of charges and put a stop to them luckily. I am so grateful to have found this place! My son is just about legally blind without his contacts and was desperately in need of a pair of glasses today because one of his contacts irritated his eye. I brought him in with his prescription, we chose frames (from a great selection) and his new glasses were ready in under 30 minutes!!!! As if that weren't enough, we chose to pay out of pocket and we're still out the door paying under $180 (whereas, at our old optometrist's office, I was used to paying over $200 even using my insurance). I came here for the first time three years ago after they first opened. I picked out my glasses and was told they would be ready in a hour. In reality it took three days! Staff was incompetent and corporate never responded to my complaints. I vowed never to go back, but my husband convinced me to go back. I went back in September 2011 and had a better experience. My glasses were actually ready in an hour! Fast forward to yesterday. I had purchased the platinum protection plan. I brought my glasses in to get new lenses since they were scratched. Got to the store at 4:45p and was told to come back before 7p. Got back at 6:45p. Waited for about 15 minutes and was finally told that they had "messed up" the left lenses in both pairs. Did they really expect me to believe that they just happened to mess up both of the left lenses? They also told me that someone should have called and they were not sure why no one did. I was told they would be ready today and that I would get a call or text when they were ready. I waited until a few moments ago and called to see if they were ready. I was told they were. Not sure why they can't pick up a phone and let me know. I sent another complaint to corporate, but I don't expect a response. They are very rude and incompetent. Hilda is worst employee at this business. Brought my frames in to be tightened and she broke arm off frame. I couldn't believe she broke my glasses! When I asked her what she was going to do to fix them, she said "nothing". I asked why? She stated it was already broken and fell off in her hand. I told her she was lying that she broke them. Eyemart Express provided good service for me. I went into this place with my own prescription late in the afternoon. My prescription is complicated so They did not honor the cheap pricing advertised. That's OK, I would not be seeing right with the bargain priced glasses. A very nice lady named Debbie helped me. There was no wait at about 3:30 on the weekend. Glasses were ready before lunch on Monday. Long wait to pick them up at lunch on Monday, almost 30 minutes. I like the glasses. and really liked not having to wait more than a week like at the place I had been using. Two pairs under $400, no help from insurance. read more
