I've been here on two separate occasions, one for glasses with a prescription from somewhere else, and the second time for a contact lens exam and to order contacts. The eye exam was fast but thorough. Both visits had quick turnaround time to get my glasses and contacts. I ordered contacts on a Monday, was quoted a week for them to come in, but then got a call two days later that they were ready. They also price match other places and offer a military discount. When my wife showed up at1115 she was told the appointment was for 1030, not 1130. She was very rude to her and said we need a new appointment. Said we had made the mistake. I broke my prescription sunglasses while in PCB from Minnesota. Still having a week here then a 2 week Caribbean cruise plus the drive back home, I really needed a fix. A. fix no one here would do because I didn't purchase at their store. Olivia at the FWB store came to my rescue. Although she tried, Olivia was unable to fix the broken bow. She then popped my lenses into a similarly shaped frame, adjusted them and sent me on my way. Thank you soooo much for coming to my rescue! You are a God send!!! read more

After 5+ years and no missed appointments, Eyeglass World on Beal Parkway, in Fort Walton Beach just cancelled my husband's appointment that was made 18 days ago, with no warning and within 25 hours of his APPOINTMENT because he didn't call them today to verify his appointment. What is the point of making an appointment if it can be cancelled by the company for no real reason? Maybe I am confused on what the word APPOINTMENT means, but to me, it means you are scheduled to arrive at a certain time and date. Needless to say, I cancelled my appointment, too. I did receive a threatening phone call about cancelling my appointment if I did not return Jenna's call within 24 hours, which already annoyed me, but my husband never received anything about contacting them before his appointment. These ladies went above and beyond the call of duty to correct the issues I had previously discussed. Went to appointment at Eyeglass World today. Arrived on time. Saw eye doctor. Came out for frames and lenses and had to wait while others got serviced before me. Got frustrated. Told manager then took my business somewhere else. The tech in the doctor's office said she would take my paperwork to the next department. I waited but to no avail. I didn't even get asked if I needed help. What a shame. I would recommend to others to take their eye care and eye ware needs somewhere else besides Eyeglass World. read more

This is the only place I will be going for my frames. They have been so helpful and kind to me when I had some issues with my prescription. They have worked so hard to make me feel comfortable and happy. It was not even their problem but they were awesome. This is the only place I will shop. We are here on vacation and my wife lost one of the nose pads to her eyeglasses. We did not buy the glasses at this establishment but they immediately replaced the missing nose pad and adjusted her glasses to fit correctly without charging us! This was the most expensive ($600, exam was separate) and worst experience I've ever had trying to get new glasses and contacts. I have really bad vision, so I never expect same-day or same-week delivery of contacts or glasses. Usually it's about a week. Here, it took 2 weeks the first time and 3 weeks when the lenses had to be re-cut because I couldn't see with them. The really high price included a "deal" of the 2nd set of lenses free. I have better vision with my old and much cheaper glasses. I had to repeatedly ask why I could see well with those, but not the new, very upgraded lenses. After I still couldn't see well enough to work, I was notified that the frames I chose would never be good enough for my poor vision and astigmatism. I asked why I wasn't told that and was told the person who helped me must not have known. I should have demanded a refund, but I was so tired of dealing with them and being bullied into thinking this was my fault that I just left. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, ever. read more

Impressive service from Tanya! Her expertise in adjusting/fitting glasses became apparent when she refit a pair that I got elsewhere. All of a sudden the lens' focal point was in the right place and I could see so much better. She was also very thorough in finding me the best price. Another retailer just calculated costs after applying my insurance. Tanya took the time to compare the cost using my insurance and for my paying out of pocket. Worst eye exam experience ever. I have been I am a registered nurse for the past 15 years. I had an eye exam appointment at 2:15 and didn't get seen until 3:20. The lady doctor seemed very stressed and not exactly altogether there. I always have my eyes dilated. Eye disease runs in my family. The exam process was almost like she was scatter brained if you will. At the end after being rushed obviously because she was running way behind I ask her if she was going to dilate my eyes. This is important to me. She told me she looked at the health of my eye already and everything looked good and she didn't need to dilate me. I have been getting eye exams for 40 years. I have never had a doctor not dilate me. I felt like she was pushing me out as quickly as possible because she was running over an hour behind. I wonder how many other people didn't get dilated that day? I paid for it, it was supposed to be part of the exam. She was for sure just rushing me doing the minimum to give me a new prescription and get me out of the exam room on to the next patient. I am in health care. I understand what it is to run behind but that's no excuse for not dilating my eyes and checking them thoroughly. Being a nurse I Googled Florida Board of Optometry, Florida Optometric Association. I googled are Florida optometrist required to dilate patients. I was just curious. Being in health care I like to know these things. Because of eye disease in my family history I have always been told to make sure and get dilated every time I get my eyes checked. What I discovered was in the state of Florida pupillary dilation is required by law for all patients undergoing an initial comprehensive eye examination. So now I am going to schedule an appointment with the Pensacola location where I previously went two years ago and the doctor there dilated my eyes and did a very thorough exam. I do not recommend this location for an eye exam. She is blonde thinning hair, very slender and her name was Rostankoski. I think its russian. On a positive note. Ashley helped me in the eyeglass portion and she was very nice and professional. I would recommend them for eyeglasses as Ashley did a great job. read more

The 2 for $78 special doesn't include all frames! Was called and told to pick up my son's glasses that we had made on Monday. Made it down there on Friday and they were not ready. The lady sent us away to "do something else" while they rushed to make his glasses. We came back and picked them up and she did give us a free cleaning kit for the inconvenience. After paying and waiting a week to get my glasses back. And after deciding on which frame fits . The front technician does NOT listen when the customer tells her. The frames fit fine.She literally took them out of my hands and then heated them up and ruined the plastic frame then ruined the 2nd pair I literally had to grab them and run. Its not good at tall and I went from happy about it to definitely will NOT go back. She had no business melting my frame or bending the other new frame out of shape. If thats her way to make more hours for herself I suggest she get some job ethics and go to another one before she costs her doctor more money. I went in for the 2 pair of progressive glasses for $158. I intended on spending extra money to make the second pair sunglasses. I was talked into an upgrade on the lense because I am an avid reader. Then we discussed anti reflection coating and agreed to that because I was told it was only $30 for the first pair and $ 15 for the second. I made the mistake of not paying attention to the bill and learned later on that the coating was actually $30 per lense, not per pair of glasses, and there was no $15 deal. I also didn't get the same day offer either. I was told it would be a week, called the day they were due, the saleswoman blamed Fedex, and said they would call tomorrow. I sat around till 3p.m. waiting and finally called them. I was happy just to get my glasses and go. I won't be going back. Oh, my total bill came to $343.00, more than twice I expected to pay. read more

I had a great experience here!! The staff were very friendly and very helpful. They were very knowledgeable about what frames would work best for me. The eye dr was friendly and took the time to show me the photos they took of my eyes and explained to me my eye health. They have lots of frames to choose from and great prices. I would recommend everyone to choose eyeglass world. I'm thankful for the experience I had. My lenses cost less here then they would've at pearl vision. Plus I got the 2 for 1 deal. DO NOT GO HERE! Have had the absolute worst experience here with the eye doctors. They are truly 100% incompetent. Firstly the doctor told me my eyeglass prescription was incorrect and just said "well if you can see with them then they are fine". Um how about no. I didn't spend over $300 for glasses that are the wrong prescription. Just shows how much he cared about me as his patient. To make matters worse I paid for an exam to get contact lenses. I have been to him for the last two and half months trying to get a correct pair. He has been so unhelpful it is not even funny. I get trial pair after pair that is NOT right for my eyes. Making appointment after appointment for months now. I told him how I'm moving very soon and need contacts and he states "well you've never worn contacts before so picking some is so difficult maybe another doctor will be able to help you". Basically I took away from that that he is definitely incompetent as a doctor and should not be allowed to ever help people with their eye sight and rob people of their hard earned money. Also he was very overwhelmed i could tell as he would run back and forth between rooms not paying close attention to his patients trying to rush everyone out the door. His hands would tremble as he put frames up to my eyes as if he was in distress and not capable of doing his job adequately. I plan on reporting him/this establishment ASAP. They refused to give me my money back for the exam and just expect me to keep trying trial after trial pair of contacts from an incredibly incompetent doctor. I purchased my glasses and sunglasses there. About 1 month after I noticed that a small spot that first appeared on my sunglasses ,about about 3 weeks before the warranty expired, had gotten bigger. I first thought that I probably scratched them. Even though warranty was expired I was told that the spot occurred because the coating was coming off my lenses because I left them in my hot car. I asked if I could pay to have them re-coated and was told it wasn't possible. I figured, ok I just won't buy from them again and didn't write a review at that time. However more spots have appeared, and now I mostly wear my 10 year old Walmart prescription sunglasses which have been in my truck all this time and they never had the coating come off. You have a lot of options for glasses but the people are rude and don't know how to talk to a customer, they interrupt me while I'm talking to some one and don't even say sorry. I went in and told them my insurance and I spend 2 hrs looking for glasses (I didn't find much I liked) they had amazing deals (or so I thought) so I found two cause almost everything is buy one get one free and I thought I would be paying 25$ cause my insurance payed for 150$ and at check out they tell me it's 330$ ha! No I don't think so ( I even came in with a prescription) they could of told me that they didn't take my insurance fully when I got there, such a waist of time. Having good and respectful service is important to me, over all this place isn't great they really just want as much money as they can get, I can't get over how unprofessional they are, maybe they are just too comfortable in the work place but I won't be going here ever again, my advice is call and make sure you have the good insurance that they take fully before you spend hrs looking for glasses. Ps the ones I got were 175$ and it was buy one get one free and you pay off the most expensive one of course. read more

If you go to this place expecting same day service, please don't waste your time!! I called and was told over the phone yes mam we sure do same day service. I went for my appointment on a Monday, asked at check in if they were still able to do same day service and was told yes. I had my eye exam, picked out regular glasses and sun glasses, only to be told at checkout out it would not be same day service. They explained they had a technician injured and a machine down so unfortunately on this specific day, they could not offer same day service. They advised me they were behind on orders and it would probably be several days before my glasses we ready. I understand things and circumstances happen, but then they began lying when I called to check on my order 5 days later. When I called, they told me they had to order my lenses and that was the delay. I advised them that I knew the sunglasses had to be ordered-and that was fine, but the regular glasses did not have to be ordered as I was told they would be done in house. At that point all the girl said was I am terribly sorry for the delay. At this point, I advised the girl they really should NOT offer same day service if they can't stand by that (unless they have to order or whatever). All she could say was I am sorry. I will say the service in picking out glasses etc was good and the optometrist at this location was excellent! The deal was good, I got a pair of regular glasses and a pair of sunglasses for around $350 which isn't too bad! Otherwise, same day service here is non-existent!! P.S. I am STILL waiting on my glasses (regular-not prescription sunglasses---they sunglass lens had to be ordered) a week later! Once I actually get my glasses, I will update the review! read more
