Dr. Dean Le was negligent in diagnosing me with a stye and had me return for office visits and no helpful care. I had to request a referral, and due to his lack of proper treatment I had to have surgery and now I have a scar under my eye. What is even more upsetting, is that when he referred me he wrote a completely different diagnoses to the new center...basically he knew what I had and never treated that. Not only was Dr. Le negligent, his office staff was completely insensitive. I returned for two visits with an eye growth that had grown double its size and very infected, and his receptionist greeted me both times with, "I can't imagine why you are here!" I was feeling very self-conscious with the appearance of my eye already and her comment was completely sarcastic and not professional. I will NEVER return there nor recommend this office to ANYONE! My co-worker also had a bad experience there around the same time with getting glasses...it took months for her and they never got it right. Dr. Dan Le may be friendly, but definitely not qualified or compassionate. read more

Dr. Dean and his staff are amazing! It is always a pleasure to come in for my appointments. On one occasion they even offered to buy the patients Starbucks while we waited to be seen. Talk about going above and beyond! Dr. Dean is patient, friendly, and answers all your questions. He always makes sure I have what need wether its solution for my contacts or a simple cleaning cloth. Hello Gilroy community, If you care about your eyes and pockets you will read this. Dr.Le tried to persuade me to spend thousands, first he ripped a piece of tissue paper infront of me saying those were going to be my eyes, then he tried to "prevent" this happening to my eyes by trying to sell me hard contact lenses for $5,000; he even tried to persuade my 50yr old Father to get them. Anybody in their right judgment would rather get lasik for that price. He also gave me the wrong prescription, wayy higher than its supposed to be. I experienced horrible head aches. I went back to my old Dr at Costco in Gilroy (5stars) and he kid you not LAUGHED so hard about my story with Dr.Le. He said he knows him, theyre friends and he cant believe how many ppl come to his office at Costco complaining about Dr Le his bad services and horrible way to try to get everyone to spend $5,000 on those ridiculous hard contact lenses. I went back to Eye C optometry, I asked for my money back and they refused! giving me no other option but to get a " free eye exam" that is part of their policy if they make a mistake; you would think all the money you pay and its the wrong prescription. I told them I dont trust Dr Le and handed them my new prescription (precise) from Dr at Gilroy Costco Optometry. It took them a month to fix my glasses; I would call and they would say "theyll be ready tomorrow we will call you.". Never happened. I had to go in today 3/1/17, and waited 20minutes for them to check in the glasses. The glasses had been sittting there for weeks and nobody checked them in. All you see is a bunch of assitants playing in the computers and eating snacks in the back. The assitant was very rude speaking to me in spanish when all I spoke to her was in English, she was trying to not have anybody understand what she was trying to hide the dispute that was going on. Dont waste your time or money here. I will contact Better Business Bureau. Have a nice day. P.s- Dr Dean Le you should spend more time giving out the right prescriptions and not so much in sky diving and scuba diving. read more

EyeC Optometry is located next to the Barnes and Nobel in the Gilroy shopping area. Dr. Le listened to me. This was very important to me because it is the patient, who knows what prescription is working for their eyes. Dr. Le has all of the latest computerized machines to test a patient's eyes, and the eye exam I received for my eyes was a complete exam. I am very happy with Dr. Le's care for my eyes, and I am very happy with my Monovision contact lenses, and my new eyegrlasses that Dr. Le prescribed for me. read more

Dr. Le is friendly and always up-to-date on the latest technology and explains everything very thoroughly. He is very patient when answering all my questions and seems to truly enjoy sharing his knowledge. Besides being friendly they are also very efficient. Dr. Dean and his staff were friendly and very helpful in particularly pre-tester Yahaira, she left a good impression on me by making sure I was comfortable at all times and cleaned the machines in front of me which allowed me to see that the equipment was clean. Before i walked into the office, the office was filled with people. From the moment i walked in, i was greeted by a pleasant staff member. Both Dr. Dean and the staff were super friendly and helpful. I was blown away with the comprehensiveness of the eye exam, the pictures of the eyes were just amazing and explained to me in details thoroughly. The staff member provided me with all the clear options available for me that would work for my lifestyle. she didn't try to upgrade or sell me bunch of options that i don't need like my previous office. I've been going to Dr. Le for a number of years. Always have a good experience. They have evening hours so it's easy to get in without taking time off work. They're in a shopping center next to a book store and a couple other shops so if they're running seriously behind, you can wander around instead of waiting in their shop. read more

When I was about 6 years old I noticed that my vision was not the greatest to the point of not being able to see out of my left eye. This ended up leading to a cloud-like damage to my cornea. I've had to transition to wear glasses through out my life in which wasn't making it better, until I visited the EyeC Optometry in Gilroy. When I I first came in back in 2017, Dr. Le noticed my eye condition and figured to try glasses with a certain lenses to be stronger on my right eye in order to have that stay strong. The glasses did help nevertheless it wasn't the vision I wanted and having to wear glasses everywhere and having them be a pain. Finally towards February 2020 Dr. Le came up with an idea to get me a contact for both eyes but mostly having a thick lenses to protect and improve my vision. As soon as I came in to finally try the lenses, I was overwhelmed with the ability to see clear again after all these years. I'm very fortunate for Ultra Health contact lenses, that have made my vision to the point of perfect. Big thank you to Dr. Le and his staff team for their hard work to make me see again. read more

From the moment you walk in to when you walk out every one is really friendly. I've only know the staff for a short while but it feels like I've know them forever. This is also the only place that offers night contacts, witch are contacts you wear at night so you have no hassle during the day. My vision has improved tremendously and it makes me glad that I don't have to wear glasses to enjoy my surroundings. While you do have to get in the habit of putting them on every night the outcome is totally worth it. I'd recommend you guys to anyone having trouble seeing and I'd recommend those contacts and they are only offered here sadly because I think more people should know about them because they're great!!!! read more

Dr. Le, is AMAZING. I was referred to Dr. Le by a current patient, and boy am I glad I decided to make an appointment. Not only is the staff friendly and make you feel welcome, but I felt like Dr. Le takes his time during my appointments and did not make me feel rushed like other doctors have done. I love that Dr. Le has advanced technologies for my diagnosis of Keratoconus. He has been patient with me, and continues to work hard to make sure I have the best vision with my condition. I went here last year to get a new pair of glasses. All was well and good until I needed an adjustment on my frames(a little loose)I took them in this October. Nicky helped me out and I explained I just needed the ear piece bent. She took my glasses and came back a couple minutes later. I put them on and immediately noticed my lenses looked cracked. I showed her and her first reaction was "are you sure they weren't like this before?" No, they weren't, you just fried my lenses when you tried to bend the frames! And they were bent so much it looked like I was looking through fish eye lens. Upon our complaint with this, she did offer to get us replacement lenses at no cost under our own warranty; except shipping. As for the frames that was another story. They were still under warranty but did not know when they would be in stock. I went ahead and placed order. Two phone calls, and three weeks later I still had no replacement. Lenses had come in but no date expected for frames. Extremely upset with our service; We went in person and spoke directly with Dr Le. Upon hearing all this he offered at no charge a new pair of frames with the lens. An hour later I had my glasses. But, vision still seemed off the next week. I resorted to my old pair again. I took the new glasses to my regular eye doctor and they checked the prescription. Both lenses were way off!!! The left eye was too high and the right lens was too thin. So, now I'm out $400 for a pair of glasses that could have been solved with competent staff with knowledge of how to treat glasses, lenses, and customers. I would NOT recommend this business to anyone. read more

Hi guys!! I came here for the first time a couple weeks ago and I just have to say this is the best eye doctor Ive ever been too!! They are very high tech and can therefore identify much more quickly what you need. They are also very fast and kind to everyone who walks in. You can tell they are confident in what they do and truly care about people. They aren't just looking to make you spend more, they are there to help you! As soon as I got my contacts it was a HUGE difference from my old ones!! It was like going from standard to very high quality HD! I absolutely love this place and definitely recommend them. Wonderful optometry center with knowledgeable staff. I travel from Salinas because of the high quality of this practice, and something called Ortho k, corneal refractive therapy. I have struggled with glasses, and disposable contact lenses for years. I discovered Ortho K at Dr. Le's office, and Let me tell you... it works wonders! The lens gently reshapes the front surface of my eye with no irritation whatsoever. The following morning, i remove the lens, and see the world a lot more clear! No need to struggle with annoying glasses, or irritating disposable contact lenses. Not only is Ortho K making my life easier. Ortho k is helping me on the long run. Unlike glasses, or disposable contact lenses. Ortho k is helping me slow progression of myopia. I would highly recommend it to everybody. read more

I was very impressed by Dr. Dean on my first couple of visits over a year ago. After that he added more staff and I haven't gotten in to see him at all. The new staff is OK but nothing like Dr. Dean is or was. If you go, insist on seeing Dr. Dean. It turns out that my glasses from a year ago still have the ocular measurement numbers on them which has been contributing to headaches. The lab that made the lenses did not polish the numbers to remove them prior to sending them to Eye C. Because of the difficulty in seeing Dr. Dean I have recently gone to an ophthalmologist instead. This is where I learned about the numbers still on my glasses. I would give 5 stars if Dr. Dean were more available. read more

I found Dr. Le in a hurry one day, because I desperately needed someone to help me fix my loupes before going to work. I walked in and was immediately impressed with the clean, modern office and friendly staff. Dr. Le himself came out and assisted me right away and fixed my loupes in 10 minutes and I was off to work. I decided to return for an exam a few months later. He remembered me, greeted me, and gave me the most thorough exam I have EVER had. I have been wearing glasses or contacts for the past 20 years and never been treated the way I was treated by Dr. Le. He has the most up to date technology and he really emphasized EDUCATION and explained to me in detail what and why I should be doing things. I've been told by optometrists for years that wearing contacts too frequently is bad for my eyes, but it never hit home until he took a snapshot of my eye, blew it up on a computer monitor for me to see, and said THIS is what you are doing to your eyes. He gave great recommendations and advise, was personable and friendly, and cared about me as an individual. I've never found a doctor that I've seen in more than 2 consecutive years and I've finally found a place I will go to for the rest of my life. Costco is great for discounts on food and housewares, but I'm not looking for a discount on my health! For just a tiny bit more, I'm seeing a real doctor that cares about me and my health. I was recommended by my employee since my old optometrist who i have seen for many years retired. i was reluctant at first, but i gave a shot at it anyway. i was so amazed by Dr. Dean 's eye examination. It was the best examination i ever had. i thought my previous optometrist was great, but Dr. Dean is the best of all. i was surprised and pleased with his charisma, sense of humor. I can tell that he puts his heart into his examination, and helping people understand their eyes better. He explained every details about my examination, and made this long check up fly by so quick. i walked out of the examination with lots more information than i knew about my eyes. i came to dr. dean's office because of yelp review. i really want to try some place different. wow, dr. dean is awesome and funny. Dr. Dean is very patient and he makes sure to answer all your questions during the examination. The most importance is Dr. dean listens to you. He has all the equipments that i have never seen at my other optometrist in town. Those pictures he took of my eyes about the sun damages was amazing. the cool thing about dr. dean is that he is down to earth, and he remembers all the patient names. HIs office has the most frames in town, and the office is always busy. Make sure you make an appointment for your eye appointment otherwise the wait is lil bit long . I've never been to a optometrist before until I came here. I'm really glad I walked in here because I didn't realize how bad my vision really was. Dr. Le is very good at his job and the staff is super friendly and helpful! This is the only place that offers contacts that you wear at night. After months of using these contacts, I've noticed a tremendous improvement in my eye sight! Although there is a tiny difficulty of getting in the habit of applying the contacts every night, it's totally worth it! I'd definitely recommend this place! read more

I recently came here with my boyfriend for him to get an eye exam, this was one of the WORST experiances ever. The appointment was at 2:30 we didnt get seen until 3:30 and we had to get up and ask if we were going to be seen after waiting an HOUR! Finally the Dr. came in and told us he needed to get his eyes dilated which was fine. We then waited another hour for his eyes to dilate which dosent take an hour!. We had to ask the front desk again when will he be seen again because he eyes were already dilating they told us to have a seat and to continue to wait longer. The Dr. then recommend a trial pair of contacts and that they would be ready in a day or 2, its been over a WEEK AND A HALF and she just called him telling him his contacts were in. I Would Highly not recommend this place to anyone. Our experience there was HORRIBLE. We didnt leave the optometry until 4:40 it should NEVER take that long for an eye exam. read more

Dr. Le and his staffs were so nice and friendly to me I scheduled an appointment to get an eye exam on the weekend. My experience with Eye C Optometry has been a good one. From the time I walked in the staff greeted my daughter and were friendly. The wait time was no more than 15 minutes. The office was clean and tidy with nice music playing. There was a lot of patients coming in and out of the office. It helped that they had kid friendly iPads for my daughter to play with as she was a bit nervous for her eye exam. All of the assistants that we were in contact that day were nice and friendly. My first impression of Dr. Le was that he was friendly, attentive, thorough with his exam, listened and answered all of my questions, made my daughter and I feel comfortable. The staff didn't rush me or try to up sale me on frames which was much appreciated. They were knowledgeable, gave me many options, and told me what my share of costs were after insurance. Glasses are not cheap and that's anywhere you go. I have been to quite a few in and out of the area. Overall good experience and will be back soon. If you're looking for an optometrist this one is hard to beat. read more

So I'm a bit of a troublesome case. I have Keratoconus which basically means my corneas weaken to the point where they come out. This makes glasses and regular contacts not possible for me to wear. I require a specialty lens in order to correct my vision. My options are extremely uncomfortable small here lenses, big expensive scleral lenses and hybrid hard/soft lenses. I came to Dr. Le as he can fit these hybrid lenses. I have a particularlly challenging fit for my right eye which requires me to try on multiple lenses. This is where Dr. Le and his team shined. I ask alot of questions as I have been to a number of optometrists who are pretty subpar in treating my condition. Morgan took the time to make sure every question I had was answered and that I was comfortable. Marybell took hours with me teaching me how to put the lenses on and take them off and was kind and patient. Then Dr. Lee came in and was super passionate about helping me. He even came into his own practice early to study my charts. Dr. Le and his team run 6 days a week just because it is more convenient for their patients.
