The lab making the glasses has so many issues and does not appropriately communicate with the customer service team. I was set on a frame that was discounted and discontinued and tried order over July 4th weekend.
First, there was a system issue where apparently no one could order any lenses at all. Then, the next day we placed an order for two pairs of glasses with the same 1.74 high-index lenses. By the next day, I could see the order was on hold (no email notification). I reach out to CS and am told that, not only were the lenses I chose (and paid for!) no longer available, there were apparently *NO* lenses available for the discounted discontinued pair *AT ALL* and no estimate for when any kind of lens would be available for them.
Mind you - I can still to this day place these same frames in my cart with my prescription on high-index lenses and, best believe, they will absolutely take the money.
That rep tells me she will ask the lab what's up but, into the next week I haven't heard back but still see the order is on hold, so I call again. The new rep tells me that now it's just the blue-light lenses that are unavailable and they resubmit the order with clear lenses. But the next morning I get an email that 1.74 lenses are apparently, once again, completely and totally out of stock with no update on when they'll be back in-stock.
I call again and escalate to a supervisor, who tells me she will absolutely reach out to the lab and contact me directly with an update the next week, but instead I just get another email from a non-supervisor telling me again that every lens for just this frame is apparently unavailable. I call back one more time after hearing from my optician that my prescription would be fine with a 1.67 lens, and am told again that, for some reason, the lab is fully incapable of producing any prescription lenses for this frame.
Does this mean that every person who orders this frame with a prescription is push back, or is it just mine? Is there something preventing the lab from cutting *ANY* large square frame prescriptions, or do they just not want to for this specific frame? My husband's round frame with 1.74 lenses and a much stronger prescription was apparently completed immediately. Why would my weaker prescription be an issue if they clearly have the ability? No answers to any of that from any of the five CS folks I spoke to over two weeks.
Because my husband really liked his frame, and I was really set on mine, we had no choice but to order my frames with no prescription lenses at all. I will have to take them to my local optician finish them. I will be back to update this review once we do finally receive the order, but we will never be buying from EBD ever again. Crazy to say, but I had a better experience with CliCliMe, which was very unexpected. read more
