I had a very pleasant experience here at Eye Focus Optometry. It was my first time getting an eye exam and Dr. Cindy made my whole experience very comfortable, she was also very informative with everything I needed to know about my eyes and how to protect my eyes from getting worst. Her receptionist/assistant Tina was sweet and easy to get along with, she was helping me pick out my glasses frame and explained to me everything I needed to know since this is my first time getting prescription glasses. The prices here are unbeatable, I paid only 75$ for an eye exam + retinal photo. For lenses and glasses frame that would really depend on your choice because the price varies depending on which brand name you choose, but I also got a really good deal on that. They have a wide variety of designer glasses frames you can choose from: Tiffany, Tom Ford, Burberry, Ray Ban, and more. I'm really glad I discovered this place because I was calling around comparing prices and an eye exam normally costs 100$ or more. My overall experience was just awesome. Best Optometrist I have ever been too, and I have been a lot. Dr. Cindy Nguyen is very smart, she explained me very clearly about my prescription. I was really impressed. Then we had follow up appointment because of my eye issues and my number went down, and she explained me why. Dr. Nguyen is always on point and doesn't waste any time. Great customer service! The front desk girls, Ann and Tina, was very nice and they took the time to help me adjust my frames. During my eye exam Dr. Cindy explained the different tests and what they did. Also, the conversation was refreshing bc it felt like they wanted to get to know you and want you to have a fun time with everyone. The office was VERY clean and modern looking. Nothing like the mall or other optometry places in the area. They accepted my insurance, but it seems like the pricing was fair and the quality of lens was super clear and durable. I got the special blue light and anti-glare coating so I paid about $100 extra and they do split payment which was very convenient. The location is good. Parking can be a bit busy bc of the In-n-Out and Safeway, but it's not too bad. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone who needs new glasses and eye exam. read more

I've been having these white bumps around my eyes that made me worried, and I find myself to be squinting a lot, as if everything is glaring at me. I do not have an eye doctor and the last time I had my eyes checked was in middle school(driver license dont count). I overheard from my colleagues mentioned having a friend opening up her own optometry, and I happened to see friends on facebook liking her page. So when I need my eyes checked, I thought of Eye Focus. I called them asking if they take insurance and visa/mc(I learned a lot of places in San Jose only takes cash). My appointment was on Saturday. The office looked clean, modern and upscale. Definitely an upgrade from your typical optometry office. There were customers and it seem like the staff and the doctor has good relations. I was early so I browsed their glasses. They have a good selection of high end and name brands. I really appreciate their kids' section, my 5 and 9 year old daughters would go crazy for them. On to the exam experience, Dr. Cindy, who is the optometrist, is very professional. She is thorough, focused in her work, and pays attention to details. She has a warm personality, tries to make a connection with you, and cheerful, but during the exam, she becomes very stern. It shows she takes her work very seriously. She used "human language" to explain and solve the mysteries behind the white bumps around my eyes. I normally dont write reviews on anything beside food, but I felt compelled to give Eye Focus one. They are new and I wish them great sucess. Dr Cindy is young, around her early 30s. Most of dont even dare to open such a business at that age. Elders will appreciate more when doctor and staff speak fluent Vietnamese. I will recommend my limited english friends here for sure. read more

I don't normally post reviews but this office deserve a shout out. To start off, I haven't got an eye exam since 2011 so it was time for check up. This is not a typical optometry office. The décor is so modern and elegant. And there were so many options to choose from that I had such a difficult time deciding. Another thing that made this office a must go to is their doctor. Dr. Cindy Nguyen is by far the nicest and most thorough optometrist I have ever met. She took her time answering all my questions and was able to explain what my eye problems I was having. Not only that, she also helped me choose a frame that actually match my face instead trying to push more pricey options on me. I just left the place. It was my first visit to Eye Focus Optometry and can't help but to write an immediate review. I already told Cindy the Optometrist but I want to share my experience with all of you Yelpers out there. Since it is my first time there, I came in 10 minutes early to fill out paperwork. When I walked in the door, I was immediately greeted by Cindy and the receptionist/assistant (forgot to ask for her name). The paperwork was kept simple. During my short wait, I sat and looked around. It has a boutique feeling to it. I asked and found out that Cindy designed the store. The place is very welcoming from the time you walked it. It is bright and warm. The typical optometry places I've been to look very similar, with carpet flooring and those boring typical wooden cabinets. Cindy and her assistant are very personable. I had a great time chatting with them. She explained the relationship between the eyes and the body, which no optometrist had given me a thorough explanation before. Well, how do I start? I had never had any problems with my eyes since born. My vision was 20/20 "excellent". Then, I started having blurry vision since early this year and seemed like the issue has not improved, after I tried out few OTC eye drops and eyes massaging. Doctor is good. Staff is careless. They messed up our glasses on multiple occasions. Forgot anti reflective coating one time and then tint the next time. Staff is eager to write orders and collect money but lacks in follow up on order processing. They call customers about pick up without double checking and waste everyone's time. It's not always a blast to go to a doctor's appointment nevertheless an eye appointment because they're bound to find something or hopefully nothing on good days, but you still get billed anyways lol. Anyways, it was that time again for me to get a new eye prescription. Not only was Dr. Cindy super friendly and thorough, but she was also very quick and efficient. No time wasted at all and on the plus side, my prescription results were better than my last one (with another optometrist- that's another story lol)! Miracle or what? My eyes have improved/ self corrected overtime! Dr. Cindy explained everything to me and answered all my questions clearly. Sorry the self correction is not a guarantee and does not apply to everyone (or might have been an error from the last optometrist but hopefully my eyes are just getting better lol) so scratch everything that I just said and just remember to go here if you would like a friendly, thorough, non-pushy, accurate, and quick optometrist! Really happy with the customer service here. I called earlier, didn't leave a voicemail, and they actually called back not even 10 minutes later. The lady on the phone was friendly, professional, and extremely helpful. I was calling other optometry places to see if they took my insurance. Many either just gave me a yes or no answer, but the lady I was speaking to on the phone not only said yes, but she also took the time to look into the system to see what I qualified for and explained the additional cost I would have to pay for the lens, depending on the frame, prescription, brand, etc. Her answers were very thorough, and in detail. I was due for another eye exam and this place really took care of me. The receptionist in the front named Sheila was very sweet and offered me cookies while I was filing out my forms. I came in the office early and before my appointment, and they were able to see me early. Dr. Nguyen was great! She is knowledgeable and takes her time to help you get correctly fitted for the right prescription. She let me try contacts and gave me several of pairs to try out. I was very happy with my visit because she inform me with a lot of information that I wasn't aware of. She will be honest and and just wants her patients to be aware of things like for example retinal detachment.
