I recently had my lashes done by Peri and she is *AMAZING*! She works quickly, but is very thorough and detailed. I had a terrible experience trying lash flares at a different studio, which are completely different than extensions (don't do it) that left me with bald patches after removal. You would never be able to tell after Peri's work! My fill lasted for a solid four weeks. On top of her excellent technique, she's super sweet and easy going. Eye design as an establishment is impeccable and puts thoughtful details into making their clients feel pampered and well looked after. Got the powder effect procedure done by THE Nadia Afanaseva. I have very thin and sparse eyebrows (Asian genes), so for YEARS, I've had to pencil in my eyebrows. I would even carry an extra eyebrow pencil in my purse/gym bag. At my appointment, Nadia worked with me to get the best eyebrow shape/color for my face. For the most part, the procedure was painless (she applies a numbing cream) but they did feel a little raw afterwards. My brows started peelings after 3 days (and you can't get them wet during this time). After a week, they were healed and after 2 weeks, my brows settled in and they've looked natural and full ever since. Today (nearly 7 months after my procedure), I never have to pencil in my brows. ALERT: HIGHLY RECOMMEND! **And I've been waiting for these lashes to fall or until I need to remove my eye lashes to write this review--but it's been staying on my lashes for so long that I might as well just write the review first and update later.*** First of all, I was not expecting to enter into such a glamorous and prestige place. The set up is beautiful. The receptionists are extremely friendly and provide excellent service. They are super informative of the procedures and the styles that they offer. They also offer you Fiji water for you to relax while waiting for your appointment. Further more, my appointment for eyelash extensions actually first required a consultation. The consultation is when you first speak to a technician about what styles you are looking for and they actually show you it in a very nicely printed and informative catalog. The catalog is full of different styles and the technician really walks you through it thoroughly. They inform you about the process and what they think would fit you best for your preference. I was seen by a professional technician called Nadia, who has been doing lashes and brows for about 8 years--she's a real profession. It's not a joke! After speaking to her about it, she directed me to Irene, her colleague who is also a professional technician. Nadia explained that to ensure that the client won't have allergies to any reactions to the eye lash extension procedure, they would place a few lashes to ensure their clients. I was super glad to hear it only because I've never done it before and was actually quite nervous about it. So thank you for providing that service! (The things we do for vanity... haha) They called me back a week later to ask if I was allergic and proceed to schedule an appointment for the procedure to be done since I was fine. I scheduled it on October 25th, 2017. When I arrived, I was once again greeted with water and the wait was not long at all. An appointment is an appointment--I love that, kudos to them for that hehe. The lab technician that worked on my eye lashes was none other than the great Nadia herself (HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TO BOOK HER). She strives for perfection and she doesn't rush to put your eye lashes on you. She takes her time and makes sure the outcome is exactly what you asked for--which I actually chose to do their Kim's effect that is listed in their catalog (See pics that I posted to see the style and see my aftermath lashes--they're SO pretty). The procedure was also super relaxing. They play wonderful music that you can doze off to while the procedure is being done. And if you like, you can chat with Nadia, she will tell you all about her experiences and what she's doing in every step. I chatted with her maybe for about 2 and a half hours and dozed off for 30 minutes of the procedure. She told me about her experiences and how she is super passionate about what she does. She's from Russia and though English isn't her first language, you can still sense how passionate she is about what she does. Personally, I am not that patient with laying for 3 hours without moving. But talking to Nadia really made time go by fast. I was also super excited to see my lashes after the procedure. When she finally showed me, I was so happy and impressed. I would say, it made me so happy that I would LOVE to do it again. Nadia does not play! She literally respected my wishes and did exactly what I wanted--a doll like effective with full and long lashes. Oh man. I wanted to keep staring at my eyes. Nadia was also very informative about the after care and spent a good amount of time to answer my questions and concerns. Shout out to Nadia--seriously, thank you so much for your patience and time. I LOVE IT. Ever since I had them, I didn't feel the need to put eyeliner on. All I had to do was put my brows on. So basically--I wake up like this. LITERALLY. I love it. It's a life changing experiencing. It is now November 26th, so exactly one month and a day and my eyelashes are still intact. Sure a couple may have fell out--because I didn't take super good care of them :( I have to make an appointment to remove them in about 2 more weeks, or I can wait for them to fall out. I'm not sure what I want to do yet but I think I will make an appointment to remove them so I can give you a much more indepth review on the removal. HOWEVER. I HIGHLY recommend this place thus far. I came in for microblading with Olga who was learning at the time. She left an extra mark on my brows that was not connected with the rest of my eyebrow. The eyebrows were also uneven. I scheduled a follow-up with Nadia because if it was possible, I wanted to fix the uneveness and get the best service possible (I paid full price for the touch-up despite the owner's comment). When I mentioned the extra line, Nadia mentioned that sometimes results vary because of pore size. This made no sense because the extra line that was placed had nothing to do with my pore size. Nadia put on the numbing cream and then left. Her staff came in at multiple times and out looking for her with wide-eyed amazement that she wasn't in the room. When she came back, it was really painful because she had waited too long and the numbing cream started to wear off. She apologized and was very sweet reapplied it, but then left again. My one-hour appointment turned into 15 minutes of her actually working on me and the rest of the time she attended to other business complaining that her staff couldn't manage without her guidance. At the end of the appointment, we were looking in the mirror and she gasped, "How did that extra line get there?!" I explained to her that's what I was telling her before about the line that Olga left. Two and a half hours later I left. Had I not moved my appointment time up earlier to accommodate their request, I would have missed my flight. I think this was the top place to go to in the past, but they are going through significant growing pains that compromises the quality one would expect. My brows are still somewhat uneven. I booked a follow-up again, but cancelled it after reading some of the other issues people have recently had. read more

I put a 1 star review up then took it down because I felt bad. Then I put the review back up with revisions and took it down because eye design was calling frequently. I dont see how this situation can be fixed. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks from my first experience at eye design. The tech took 3.5 hours for a natural lash application. I've had this done over 30 times at different places. It has never taken over 1 hour. The first picture shows my eyes from this horrific experience. It took 8 days and some foggy vision for the pain and redness to subside. Chanel called and offered a comp service in September because (my) "review stood out because I was right. She asked I remove the Yelp review. I initially agreed and then slept on it. I dont want a free service let alone any service from here. I put the review back up with some edits and a woman named Michelle from eye design commented that it was hard to fix the situation because I would not speak with them. I have received and spoken with so many calls including a rather nasty voicemail left by Chanel when I couldn't answer the phone because I was at work. Who are these people? They did a terrible thing. They had a tech do a service who was not ready to. And somehow I'm supposed to take all of the calls from them to discuss this? So here we are, 2 weeks from the date of this disaster. You can see the swelling on my eye lid where the tech applied lashes. Still in pain. Still not sure why they think they can buy me and still scratching my head over business practices. To the people at eye design, please don't call. There is nothing to discuss. We cant fix this. I'm grateful I still have my sight. I was afraid to have the lashes removed. I'm really afraid to do anything. They claim to be a small business and asked that I remove the review. I'm writing this review after 2 months of my service done here. I came here to remove my micro blading and the technician burnt my skin. I called the place back and Told them that my skin is burnt and left very dark scar on my brows. I was accepting them to do something to fix the problem that they have caused but they kept asking me to wait for a month and another month. After two month I reached out to the manager Jennifer promised me that she will take care of it. But I'm so disappointed with the management. She forgot about me. I sent her multiple picture of the scare but received no response from lo them. I went to the dermatologist and was told that I got 2nd degree burnt. I don't recommend this place to anyone. I have recorded all the conversations I had with them and now I am going to file a lawsuit against them. I wake up every morning and have to see the bad scar around my brows this is very traumatic to me. I have spent the thousands of dollars to receive a permanent scar. Poor management. read more

I've been going to Iness for my lash extensions for many months now and have always had a great experience with her. She is kind, professional, and does the most BEAUTIFUL lashes that always seem to last longer than they should. I can't say enough good things about Iness and I always look forward to seeing her. The reason for four stars and not five has nothing to do with the space or service -- it's a beautiful clean space and like I said, the service is great and worth the money. However, my last visit here was just this past Saturday and I had an encounter with the woman at the front desk that wasn't entirely pleasant. I accidentally booked a three week fill when I should have booked a four week fill. It was a total mistake and I was happy to pay the difference once Iness pointed it out to me. I assumed they'd simply charge me the extra money and I'd be on my way. I was wrong -- they actually comped me the extra fee! Not only is this above and beyond customer service but it showed me that they valued the fact that I am a loyal customer and good tipper. After I thanked them profusely, the woman at the front desk said, "Our manager is going to pay Iness for it out of his own pocket, what you couldn't pay" in a very rude tone of voice. While I appreciate the gesture so much and am very grateful that he was willing to do that, I didn't appreciate the snarky comment seeing as I could pay the difference and offered to. I did not insist on a comp. Besides that slight hiccup, I still stand by Eye Design as the ONLY place to go for lashes in NYC. I recently went back in for a correction appointment with Nadia free of charge. She was very helpful and super nice. I am definitely happier with my end result this time around. I'm aware that everyone's skin reacts differently to microblading but I'm very pleased that they were willing to work with me to fix the issues I was having. The photos attached are of my brows one week healed. I still have a couple scabs left but all in all I am happy with the shape and uniform look of my brows. I went to Eyedesign NY after doing much research on the microblading process.. In April of 2018, (this review is long overdue!!) I had my appt with Mona. I arrived to the facility on time, and was greeted by beautiful decor, pristine couches and complimentary chocolates on the table. I sat in the waiting area for a short period of time, during which time I saw the owner, Nadia come out of the elevator and walk from one side of the hallway to the other, I was quite excited to see her as I had been following her on social media, but sadly, she paid no attention to those of us sitting in the waiting area, no hello, no smile, no good morning, nothing. You'd think that an owner of a place of this caliber would be more attentive to their clients, but it's alright, its been a year and it still is my first impression of her. Anywho, Mona came out to get me in the waiting area, introduced herself and escorted me to the room she would be working her magic. She asked me if I had any inspirations or pictures to reference. I showed her some and then she got to creating, at which point which paid very close attention to detail and shaped my eyebrows nicely. She eventually finished up and I loved the shape. Once finished, I went to the front desk and paid for the service (quite expensive, approx 1,100 after tax) and gave Mona a cash tip. Once paid the receptionist explained aftercare and recommended I buy the ointment, you'd think at such a high cost they would include it, but nope it was extra, so I paid the extra money for the ointment. 20$ or something like that? And got going, my eyebrows healed nicely as I have dry/normal skin in my T zone and oily skin on my cheeks and other areas of my face. I followed the aftercare super closely, but approx 3 weeks later my brows had completely faded, and the color never returned, not sure if it's because the micro blade wasn't deep enough, but I will say I was disappointed. I then got pregnant 2 months later? and wasn't able to go for my touch up which was also not included and would've been an extra cost of 700-800$ or something like that?. For something I paid 1,100$ originally I should've still had some color on my brows, and It honestly made me rethink about returning to this place. A year and 1 month later after having given birth, i went elsewhere for my microblading process, i was much happier with the color tone used and, it's been 3 weeks since the process and the color has already resurfaced on my face nicely. Plus it was much cheaper 750$ (for microblading AND the touch up included plus the aftercare ointment!) I had high hopes for eye design, while they do nice work, they are way overpriced for work you can get done elsewhere. Sadly I wouldn't recommend and wouldn't return. read more

Wow. What a great experience. It started the minute I stepped off the elevator. The front desk staff was so warm and friendly. My appointment was 9am this morning with Mona, and although I arrived a few minutes early, I felt very taken care of from the minute I walked in the door. While I wasn't very nervous leading up the procedure, I suddenly was once I began filling out the new client paperwork. Ahhh! *Gulp* However, my fears were quickly eased by the young lady at the front desk, who had recently had her own eyebrows done and just the day before brought her Mom in to have her eyebrows done. I figured, if you are having the service done yourself, as well as referring your nearest and dearest, I was likely in good hands. She was patient and answered my questions thoroughly. It all helped to ease my mind. Mona, my artist, because that is seriously what she is, was so patient. She really took her time during the consult to ensure the template she drew over my existing eyebrows made my brows even and to my liking. I loved what she proposed and we jumped right in. The procedure itself was not as painful as I expected. For me, there is some discomfort, particularly towards the back of the brow, but it was completely tolerable and manageable. I was surprised by how little discomfort I felt! Mona took her time with each stroke and made sure the placement was perfect. The fear of not knowing what to expect was FAR worse than the actual procedure. I love my eyebrows. I know it has only been a few hours and each stroke is perfectly defined at the moment and the color will fade into the perfect shade as time passes, but still, I feel incredible. I know I am going to love them more and more as time goes on. I wish I had done this year's ago. If you are on the fence, made the decision to do it and do it with Eye Design. This place is heaven in fifth Ave. As soon as you walk in you can tell how sterile and clean everything is. It smells amazing and the receptionists are so nice and inviting. I came for my lashes and I'm obsessed! I got mine done by their senior technician Olga. She was so gentle and precise. And made sure I was relaxed. She answered all my questions in detail, while having so much patience, since this was my first time getting extensions. All their technicians are perfectionists so they only finish when they know you have had the best work done. They each have their own rooms, with soothing music in the background, so you could basically nap while getting your lashes done. It was overall an amazing experience. For awhile, I became really obsessed with wanting to get 3D lashes, otherwise known as volume lashes. It's like 3-5 lashes on one eyelash type of deal to make it more volumized. Naturally, my eyelashes are very thin...so when I always get those thick, individual lashes, it would just make my eyes heavy and not last very long. I still always recommend my very first love, Blinglash to anyone that wants to get individual lashes! (I think they started getting volume lashes, too...) But I wanted a change of place. I did vigorous research for about a year and I only found reputable places out in LA...where I got a chance to go to one particular salon while I was out there on a weekend trip. Luckily, when I came back, I found Eye Design Studio. The amount of good reviews caught my attention. I always get skeptical when I see anyone that isn't Asian that's going to work on my face...makeup or anything. So, when I got Olga as my technician, I was shitting bricks. Not only was she non-Asian, she also looked significantly young. I was thinking to myself, "If I spend all this money, and it looks like shit...it's going down!". God is real. Olga seriously worked some magic on me...cause I look good and feel even great! I have to say though, I'm embarrassed that I judged a book by its cover. Before starting, she asked me a bunch of questions on the kind of look I wanted to go for. She immediately knew what I wanted, and started working on me. During the middle of it, she wanted to get a second opinion and brought another technician inside, they discussed something quietly, and both asked if I wanted to go longer (which is my go-to look), and that because of my hooded eyes, it won't look drag. Of course, I went for the longer look. I get SOOOOOOO many compliments from people, even at two weeks now! They're always so hesitant to ask if they are real or not. Worse place ever. Not worse the money or time to go there. I went there expecting a high quality but turn out to horrible experience. My eyebrows are not even, faded after 10 days. Jennifer the manger there gave many excuses to the poor quality job. She assured me that in the touch up they will be able to fix it and she said when I go for the touch up she will be there to meet and talk with the technician but that all a talk I didn't see her at all. Found this place because my friend Nikki went to see Inna and her lashes are amazing! I just finished my third time seeing her and she is really good at her job. I love Inna! She's really kind, really efficient, and my lashes last for 4 weeks! My first meeting with her she was very consultative about what to try, what to look out for, how to take care of your lashes for longest time...etc. The best thing that I like about her though is I have never felt unsold. I was contemplating going up to a different type of lash (more expensive) and she was like: "I don't think you need it." And that to me is the best part about her. I ve to change my review. After 3 months my eye brows where already fading and turning reddish. After complaining for months to them, they told me, that the fading had something to do with my own pigmentation and was normal. After I had paid almost $1300 all together. I felt, that they should have disclosed that before. Just because, when I decided to get the microblading done. I had a tattoo done previously, which also turned reddish. So I had to pay for a tattoo removal, before getting the Mircoblading done. So after complaining to them for mis- informing me and just taking my money. I was told that the microblading will last 12 months. Which it didn't. So I was offered a free tattoo removal session to get me right back where I was 6 months before. Definitely a no more for me. Came back the second time to have my eyebrows done. I had a different technician each time ( Mona and Larissa ) and have been very happy with both! They listen, take their time and are precise. Love this place! I have very light eyebrows and some empty patches. Some areas the hair isn't growing strong so I needed to get my eye brows done because I fill them in everyday with pencil. I got a little tired of it also with swimming my eyebrows always washes off. I just think my face looks nicer with nice eyebrows. So Nadia the owner did powder effect on my eyebrow she took the time to design my eyebrows and I'm really happy with the result. I always wake up with a nice pair of eyebrows and don't have to do much to them anymore. And I can finally have beautiful eyebrows while swimming. Nadia is very talented and knowledgeable. Update: I never mentioned. The asian girl that did my first treatment was unfriendly. And she questioned me as to why I wanted this procedure with a weird look on her face. I am a male. Who cares? It is my face...not yours! 2 years later. The brows look like powder instead of actual hair strokes after a year of treatment. I'm actually going to a tattoo removal place to get rid of the microblading. I would not opt again for this treatment because it doesn't age well and looks like shading. read more

Today, I had eyelash extensions done by Helen. I have naturally long lashes but I'm always coating on mascara to make them thicker and even longer... I love volume and a dramatic look. Eyelash extensions were the perfect solution because now I have that look without all of the makeup. Helen did an amazing job. Even though the procedure itself is long, it was painless, and actually relaxing. I hope my lashes last long, but I will be back for a touch up when I need one.
