The gas pump kept racking up charges after I stopped pumping. The clerk thought I was lying until she accompanied me to my car and I ran another transaction to prove it. Same thing-- after I stopped pumping, the machine kept adding up charges for invisible gas. So much for that "calibration" the clerk kept insisting on. Pepsi & Ruffles - Woo-hoo! SITREP I couldn't ask for more from the Exxon Mini-Mart across the street from Hotel Modern that has got the munchies and beverages I like for cheap! THE SETUP I am not a big fan of hotel temptations & their placement of expensive LITTLE bottles of alcohol & cans of soda in my hotel fridge. Nor the clever product place of little bags of chips and chex mix for $3 in drawers next to my FREAKIN BED! So the way I HAVE to combat this during my stay here is get inexpensive munchie and beverage options to COMBAT temptation in my own room. MUNCHIES GALORE They had all sorts of cool stuff, but I settle on a big bag of ruffles for $4. The BEST deals here, however, were on my Diet Pepsi - I got 3 2LTR bottles for only $4 as well! Will I be able to finish them over the 4 day-stay? MAYBE. But that wasn't the point. Compare that to the little cans of soda and bottles of tea in hotels and other hotel stores ranging upward to $2-$3 themselves. So I'm ready for when I'm thirsty, and for when I get a mid-night attack for something crunchy and salty. And it won't cost me an arm and a leg in room service charges. Decided to gas up just in case since Barry is incoming. Saw the signs that only "super unleaded" was available. Had my doubts so I tried the regular, and voila. It worked. I did the math on my phone after the fact to confirm I was correct (2.35 x ~8 gal = $18.80). This is super fucking shady during a state of emergency, and highly unethical. Considering the location, I would expect the gas prices to be higher than most other places, but it's not & although they could jack up the price; I find they are reasonable/comparable to other locations. I pump gas at the pump & rarely go indoors, but when I do, I always find that it's clean & the wait time to check out isn't outstanding. Turn around time of available pumps is VERY fair. Exxon coffee is the best, 2nd to McDonalds... I wish they'd bring back the card stamping loyalty program, but oh well. Fill 'er up!!!!!! read more

Lee Circle Exxon is convenient to the CBD and warehouse district. It is way nicer than the old station that was here for years. Some shady characters hang out here, but it is still a good place to fuel up. There are plenty of pumps so even when its crowded you should be able to fill up quickly. read more

Oh Polar Pop, how I love thee!!! Only 84 cents with tax no matter the size, you are my one love...my destiny! Oh dirty Exxon, I could do without you. Seriously, I've been going here for gas and drinks for years even before it was a Circle K. But in the past 18 months or so there has been a serious decline. It's always dirty, nay filthy inside. Floors, counters, everything. There is a distinct odor that goes along with it too. Then there's the outside. Constant begging and harassment, pumps that are hit or miss, trash everywhere. Oh, and did I mention that I stopped getting gas here because there were phishing attempts on my bank card on each of my last three gas attempts. Eventually I pieced it together. So BE WARNED!! What can I say though...sometimes you just need a fountain drink and a beef jerky and you have to go to the dirty, smelly, scary, credit card frauding Exxon to get a fix. read more

On Monday, December 28, around 5 pm, I stopped to get gas at one of the pumps closest to the store. I was approached by a black male who attempted to strike up a conversation (panhandle). I did not respond at first, but he persisted. I told him I did not know him and had nothing to say. At that point, he became verbally abusive and staggered around calling me names and accusing me of racism. There were numerous other customers and he did not approach any closer, so I completed what I was doing while he walked around yelling obscenities. I reported it to the attendants in the store. I did not call the police because I did not want to spend a long time waiting for them to respond. I asked the station attendants to call the police. As I left, I overheard her telling him 'But you can't do that", like he was a three year old. I would recommend that people, particularly women by themselves, avoid this until the station provides some cleanup and security. Panhandlers roaming the pumps is not new there. I say women, because these types look upon women as easy targets to intimidate. read more

Place is full of beggars and homeless asking for money. I can GUARANTEE you will be approached if you fill up here. It's been that way for years and management has not bothered to solve the problem. I cannot overstate this enough: do NOT do business here if you want to be left alone. read more

This has to be the busiest gas station in NOLA. With close proximity to the CBD and Wharehouse District is convenient and surprisingly priced competitively on fuel. Many homeless people are around and they are not shy about asking u for money. U just need to have tough skin. The customer service is hit or miss with more misses. Good selection of convenience goods and great coffee. If they had better customer service and managed the "shady" people flow I would have given a 4 star. read more
