Love Walgreens. Infact this is my favorite store. Soap and glory and no7 addict here. We are from jxn, MS and r in town for jazzfest. The lady checking us out just now was so rude. She was dangling the bag in front of me so that the glass rattled and I said ma'am hold on I'm putting my wallet up. She did it twice more and said "shiiiittt" as we walked away. She did more than this was just so rude. I'll add a pic of my receipt and hope you all can remedy this attitude. I'm in town until tomorrow I can easily avoid that place but what about locals or others. Who wants to leave Nola with a taste like that... not me. read more

This Walgreens is one of several chain drugstores in the French Quarter/Canal Street area. It's not as large as the ones on Canal, but bigger than the CVS across the street. The pharmacist has always been very helpful, however as was recently announced, that service will soon end, as they're closing the pharmacy in June and moving customers' prescriptions to the 900 Canal (& Baronne) Street location. On recent visits I've noticed limited inventory in other departments, leading me to question the long-term plans for this once-thriving Walgreens store. read more

After making my appointment for my second Covid shot 28 days after I got my first I received a call 12 hours prior to my appointment from this location telling me they didn't have the dose I had reserved a month prior. Walgreens is doing a horrible job the way they are instituting the Covid vaccination program. A large percentage of people are reporting they have run into the same circumstances. Do yourselves a favor and don't waste your time signing up through Walgreens before they waste it for you. read more

This Walgreens location was kind of a god-send during my trip to New Orleans. Now, that's not saying this place is stellar by any means, I'm just saying it was near my hotel and had most of what I needed. Surprisingly it's not open 24 hours. But not surprisingly is that it has a little bit of a ratchet feel to it. It's kind of dingy, but I can only imagine the things this Walgreen's has seen. I stopped here throughout my trip for an umbrella, some 5hr energy (which they were out of), protein bars, water, and some snacks. The line was long, but I survived. It's not the coziest place, but it's got what you need for the most part and it's right next to a daiquiri bar so I guess that gives it some points, right? read more

I stopped by this Walgreens to grab a travel size toothpaste. Let me tell you. It's greatly different from the Walgreens I visit in my neighborhood in regards to service. The two employees at the front only helped us after my husband asked them a question. One told us where we could find the toothpaste. It took us less than a minute to grab the toothpaste and come back to the register to check out. The employees continued their conversation while we waited to be checked out. After about 45 seconds, one of the employees finally went to her register to check us out. It was just rude and poor service. The only reason why I'm giving 2 stars is one of the employees did direct us to where the nearest restroom was located. read more

This Walgreens was my bank on a recent trip to NOL. I don't know about you, but I hate paying ATM fees. This Walgreens was not only in the French Quarter, but was conveniently located close to my hotel. I normally card everything, but at times it's nice to just have some cash in your pocket. So I'd come here make a small purchase of something I "really" needed and got cash back, avoiding those ATM fees that I hate so much. Being in located in the French Quarter gave this Walgreens some extra personality. It definitely was an older store with wear and tear, but that was part of its' charm. It felt cluttered and cramped, but that could only be that they were providing as much merchandise as a normal sized Walgreens. I always found what I needed and it was at a normal price, not jacked up due to the location that caters to a lot of tourist. The staff was as colorful in personality as you'd expect of a French Quarter store. They were charming and helpful as you'd expect in the deep south. Would I go back? When I'm in town, I'll be there. I came in here looking for Q-Tips and a Apple Watch charger. They had the former and a Q1 charger, which according to google probably would work. Nope! It did not. So I returned it. Wow. So, I swear to you right now - if my girlfriends weren't there to witness it, I wouldn't believe it either. I went to the Pharmacy to buy some Claritin-D for a summer cold that was coming on. The woman at the counter had a total attitude when I asked her the difference between regular Claritin and Claritin-D. She told me to "hold on" in very rude tone. As I waited - ABOUT FIVE MINUTES while she tinkered about with her computer, I was able to read the packaging myself and ascertained that D had a decongestant in it, so I decided I'd buy that. The Pharmacist then made his way over to me and asked if he could help me. I simply told him, yes, I'd like to buy the Claritin-D. The woman then snapped at me, "WELL YOU DIDNT SAY THAT. You told ME you had a question." Um....seriously? I responded...."Well, I did have a question 7 minutes ago, but I made up my mind since then." She began to ring me up as I patiently waited. ATM card in hand, I began to swipe it through the machine....and here it is. She reached up and literally swatted my hand away from the machine and snapped, "NO. GIVE ME YOUR ID." I had no words. I stood there, mouth agape, completely speechless that this bitch had the audacity to physcially HIT my hand away when I merely tried paying for my purchase. At no time did she say she needed anything but payment. I immediately told her to keep her hands off me and she began raising her voice to tell me that had I swiped my ATM, she would have had to re-rung the product. Completely missing the point, I told her I didn't care why she hit me, that she was NOT to touch me. The Pharmacist came over and difused the situation by telling her to step back. He was greatly apologetic and very politely rang my item. I informed him his employee was a liability and I was apalled. I relayed my concerns to the General Manager and took my purchase. I have never encountered such an employee...how does this woman manage to get/keep a job!? read more

Right there on Decatur St. in the middle of the riverfront part of the French Quarter It's built right into an existing building, so you can walk right past it and not see it. Unlike every other Walgreens I've ever seen. Good place for tourists to buy coffee and pralines to take back home because they are a bit cheaper than the ones in the shops in NOLA. Also a good place to pick up a quick breakfast or snacks, rather than your hotel. Pick up your passes for the street cars here. read more

I love Walgreens. New Orleans postcards are cheapest here at 25-cents each (most places everywhere sell them for 30 cents apiece). Though one of the tourguides I had mentioned that Walgreens are typically cheaper places to get souvenirs and NOLA-themed goods, watch out! Some Walgreens charge 8.99 for a can of the Cafe Du Monde coffees (while others sell them at 7.99/can). read more

I'm not a Walgreen fan but this is a conveniently located store down by the FrenchQuarter.They have a lot of inexpensive souvenir items in here as well as the regular Walgreen products. We were glad to find it as we needed some things and didn't want to have to hunt around unfamiliar territory to find a dollar store or CVS. read more

A standard Walgreens, but a predictable haven of safety if you're looking for a reliable place to pick up some batteries, medicine, Vitamin Water, greeting card, or tabloid. There's a big selection of items here that you might find yourself needing as you traipse through the Quarter, but don't forget about the "Walgreens tax," the fact that everything at a place like this always costs just a little bit more than you were expecting. read more

So disappointed and disgusted to find mouse droppings on the bottom shelf where they sell the potato chips in this store! I had just come from the CVS across the street where they had the same issues. This is unacceptable for such a big named store!! Mouse droppings carry lots of disease and this store is so careless that it lets your chips sit right on top of it. When I told the clerk at the register she looked like she couldn't care less! Simple if you need water, touristy crap or meds go here. Everything is cheaper here and is the same or better then in the main stores in the FQ. Also the people working were nice and helpful with directions. read more
