How lucky were we that this place is open 24 hours! An airport mishap caused our bags to go missing and probably won't make it to our hotel until the next day... maybe two... so we stopped by to score basic needs - mostly toiletries. Staff was friendly - even during odd hours of the night - "You have no toiletries?" (Clearly she knew we were tourists.) We explained the whole missing bags thing to clear that up. They had everything we needed - clothes included - because who knows how long before our bags get delivered! Prices were reasonable - none of the tourists rates some places charge. What made it better is that it was only a couple of blocks away from our hotel. We returned a couple more times during the week for more basic stuff - mostly snacks, water and other rehydrating drinks. What I mostly appreciated is how conveniently located it is. I was able to get the things I needed. The layout of the store was confusing but I get it was trying to make a loop for people to line up.

Good prices and very close to all hotels and bourbon street. It was clean inside and we'll stocked for quick snacks, soda and water.

Convenient location if you have a hotel on Canal St. Cheap water bottle prices. Quick line and satisfactory customer service.

Used the pharmacy and the the staff was professional and the service was fast. Store was clean. No complaints.

I hate this place. It feels like I always have to watch my Rx closely. I get a new Rx extension, I get a text that it's on order and if receive notice when it's in. It must come in but I'm not told but filled and returned to stock (never notified). I learned if this and requested a fill. No im told that it's not covered. . .yet I picked it up with no issue, during my insurance contracts term - no changes. I hate this pharmacy. read more

I always end up relying on CVS when I am out of town on travel. If I forgot something I find one. If I need a snack I find one. If I need a drink I find one. No matter what I am in need of, I will seek out a CVS. Why, because even if it is not the best place or most reasonable place to find something, there is always one right around the corner. This location is open 24/7 which makes for a last minute grab a good thing. But it can also be a bad thing. Being that it is open all the time, that means there are certain times you should probably steer clear of it. They do carry a lot of the items that you may have forgotten, but be prepared to pay more, depending on the item. Checking out is a bit confusing. You can either go the regular checkout and have someone scan your items. Or you can be shepherded to the self checkouts. The self checkouts are kind of like self defeating machines. Yeah, they can make it a quick stop, but if you buy an item that requires someone to verify your age can hold you up. Also if you decided to buy an item that has a theft deterring device that can hold you up as well. Basically, checkout is a bottleneck in this store. read more

I have to give this CVS two thumbs up. This CVS is located in the heart of indifference the busiest sections of New Orleans on Canal Street. I was there for the Essence festival and this CVS was around the corner from my hotel. Every time we went here it was very crowded but the shelves stayed stocked, the store was always clean and the salespeople were helpful and friendly. They did their absolute best to keep all the lines open and constantly moving. I know this was no easy task but somehow this crew made it happen. Job well done read more

I visited this store two times while on vacation this week. One early morning I visited the store to purchase six 1-liter bottles of water for the hotel room. When I entered the store I knew exactly what I wanted to purchase. The refrigerator with the water was located to the right of the entrance. On this particular morning, the manager or possibly a regular staff member was changing pricing or something inside of the water section. I waited for awhile because I was sure that she knew I was standing there. When I finally realized that she was not going to have the courtesy to step aside, ask if she could help me or if I needed something, I asked if I could reach inside the refrigerator to get some water. She turned around and looked at me with such contempt. For a moment, I almost felt like I had done something wrong. Then I realized that I was courteous. Now, had I not asked to get inside of the refrigerator or simply reached over head in a rude manner, then I would have been the problem. I am often baffled at how people keep jobs that require constant customer interaction because the way she looked at me and never responded at any time was just another example of poor customer service. Hopefully, she was not in a leadership position because we lead by example and if she sets the tone for anyone working under her, then I can only imagine how that store is run. This has always been my go to drugstore when in town, so to have her respond negatively was so unexpected and certainly uncalled for. I never had a problem on any of my other visits to this location. read more

I called the store today because I lost my Apple Watch while vacationing. I was tracking my watch. Someone had the watch that lived at 218 Baronne for about 4 days. Today, while tracking my watch it showed that someone at the CVS store had my watch. I asked to speak with the manager, but he would not come to the phone. He was busy stocking shelves. This is a small low-key CVS Pharmacy that does not have great selection or stock up on essential items that a pharmacy should have. I looked for cough drops and noticed there were only a few bags left from specific manufacturers that weren't high on my list. I had no choice but to grab a bag of Halls and a bottle of water before going to the cashier line. The lady was pleasant and I told her they were running low on cough drops inventory. She said people have been buying this item for the past several days. I guess it's not just me that has a scratchy throat which I hope will go away later today. read more

POSTCARDS The only souvenirs I get for my family and friends nowadays are postcards. I mail a lot of them so I always look around, and they were very inexpensive here at only 19 cents each. This is a bargain compared to what you will pay at the shops in the French Quarter, and another plus the employees are very friendly and fast at the cashier. read more

I found it odd that there would be two Walgreens and a CVS in such a short stretch of road on Canal Street, but after walking into the Walgreens and not finding what we needed at reasonable prices, we made our way across the street to check this location out. Talk about convenient! We grabbed the toiletries we needed, a few snacks, and some sunglasses, and made our way on. You could tell that the regulars already knew to come here first. There was a short but quickly moving line at this location, while the Walgreens across the street was dead except for one other tourist while we were in there. read more

I would prefer not to even give this store a 1. The pharmacist was terribly rude to me, speaking over me and condescendingly. She is clearly an unhappy person and is in the wrong line of work. I contracted COVID while here for a conference and was trying to get my prescriptions transferred because I'm stuck here and didn't bring my prescription bottles with me. Long story short, I'm not getting my prescriptions because its a Saturday now and she couldn't care less. read more

Worst service ever. They closed the cash register lanes and had everyone go through self checkout. Everyone had problems. All 4 self checkouts were occupied with just one person in front of me and it still took 20 minutes to check out. Customers only had a few items each. Open a cash register PLEASE. A place to buy the essentials that I always forget to pack, because I'm an idiot. You can buy water to replace what you sweat out at $1.79 for 1.5 liters, which is infinitely better than the $27 for a tiny bottle, or whatever your hotel is charging. I'm a CVS proponent all the way and this one has a special little place in my heart. Mostly because the pharmacist was awesome. She totally remembered my name and prescriptions after the second time I stopped by. And whenever there were issues of any sort, she worked through with me, patiently and with a great attitude. Other than that, well this CVS is possibly a little more treacherous than the rest due to its location on Canal. I believe a security guard and perpetrator died here a few months ago, but ever since then, a very visible security/police presence has been felt on site. Also due to its close proximity to Canal and the French Quarter - tons of wine, beer, and even a pretty impressive array of liquor behind the cashiers. Reasonably-priced, no mark-up - which they could totally get away with, but i guess CVS being a big ole corporation with a reputation to protect, they don't. The cashiers can be a little incompetent and sometimes they permit a rather long,winding line to form. Still, I much prefer this CVS to the three Walgreens in close proximity - it just feels more orderly and a nicer selection of convenience items. read more

It's the biggest CVS I've ever seen. With fully stock liquor shelf's and munchies all around its pretty much busy at all times. The security guy is really nice but the other staff is very slow and they don't really care. All I really wanted to tell you about this place was that they sell a bottle of rum package together with a gallon of coke (an actual box containing a bottle of rum and a bottle of coke)... It's a CVS. Right on the heart of Canal. So expect lots of tourists and long lines. They have an ATM, but it's really dumb.

This CVS was small but sufficient for the basic needs. They had those self-check out machines so that was different. Just a FYI, they closed at 12 midnight, but they won't let anybody inside the store 15 minutes before they closed. I tried after having a couple of drinks on Bourbon Street to buy a pack of water for the rest of the trip, but it didn't look like the security guard was letting anybody in. That sucks. Anyways, when we did come here the day after, the lines were almost always long even though they had self-checkout machines. I guess they were being careful just in case someone took something since there were a lot there. This was an okay place to grab water or something you forget to pack. read more

I don't usually bother to review chain drug stores in other cities, but like the other reviewer this is the biggest CVS I have ever seen. I can actually stand with my arms stretched out in the middle of each row and not touch the shelves (and I am over six feet tall). It is truly a pleasurable shopping experience after going to claustrophobic crammed/jammed full drug stores in DC and Chicago. Every section is clearly marked with overhead signs and smaller signs that are attached to different areas in each row marking the different product groupings. This is not only the biggest CVS I have ever seen, but also the most well organized. I went here often to get muscle milk after working out at the gym at the Ritz Carleton. Of course, if you aren't as lame as I am, you could actually come here and buy alcohol from their fully stocked liquor area. Oh, and they have a wonderful selection of Rock-star in every flavor and caloric quantity (as well as every other energy drink you can think of). They seemed to have a good supply of sun screen and really anything you would want to find at a drug store plus lots of mixers as well. Yes the check-out lines can be slow. I'm grateful that their prices are normal and they don't charge you up the roof being where you are. Great place to recover on some cheap water, snacks, and/or toiletries. We picked up some OJ and a power bar and we were off. This CVS is definitely a go. It has most things you might need during your stay and it's open 24/7. They certainly wanted to go home but they stayed and figured it out with me and a friend until I was able to get my supplies that night instead of the next morning! This CVS is perfectly located for Nola tourists to grab anything they might have forgotten. It's pretty quick to get in and out and the lines move very quickly. The store is right-sized for serving the neighborhood and tourists all at the typical CVS price point. read more

I'm a fan of CVS in general, but this one earns extra stars in my book for the following reasons: 1. Self-checkout machines! Yes, you can purchase booze, flash your ID and get out onto the streets* and start your night quickly. 2. It's convenient to many hotels in the area. This store was less than a block from my hotel and the perfect place to pick up all those little things I forgot to pack like Q-tips and hair spray. I also picked up bottles of water and munchies to take back to my hotel to keep on hand. Prices were reasonable even though we were in the middle of a high traffic tourist district. The energy drinks were $.50 less than the convenience store across the street. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they even had a self checkout station to help cut down on the lines. Bonus that this location is open 24 hours (though their pharmacy is only open 8am-8pm Monday through Friday, 9am-6pm on Saturdays, and 10am-6pm on Sundays) I call this a win. read more

This CVS is located literally not even a half a block away from BOURBON ST!!!! You can purchase booze at the self check out kiosk and start guzzling down your alcoholic beverage as you step out of the store. It's a pretty large and clean CVS in comparison to the other ones in the city, and it's always clean & stocked. Way to go! read more
