This is a nice place. I understand why they have electric order kiosks, but I still don't like them. Sure it allows them to be able to hire less staff. After seeing the commercials for years, I finally stopped by a Royal Farms in PA near the MD border in November 2024 on my way back from a conference in Hershey, PA. Long story short: I was quite impressed. Fast forward to last week when my wife asked me to suggest a meal from a vendor that [we] never had. That's when I decided to stop by my local Royal Farms. BTW, I actually didn't realize there was a relatively new Royal Farms not too far from our house. The food manager helped me get the most bang for my buck by suggesting combos which fit my requirement of white meat (wings and breasts) and dark meat. I also ordered the potato wedges, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes. The batter was crispy, well seasoned yet not over-salted, and moist. Royal Farms was a home run!!! Heading backs today. The staff was courteous, the food was hot and savory, and the price was reasonable. Will I be back? I'm on my way there now. Seriously.

Sheetz had their own brand of Vodka Soda and the peach ring caught my eye. When I went inside, I saw they had Peach AND Watermelon, and if there's anything I love that's fake, it's knock-off Sam's Choice Diet Cola, and fake watermelon flavor. I couldn't decide, and they were 2 for $6 so I bought both. Once in my hotel room a few miles away, I cracked open the peach and it was delicious. Like any "seltzer" product, it could have used more flavor, but I enjoyed it. Same with the watermelon. It was great but needed a bit of a punch to it. These Sheetz products helped me get some good Zzzzzzz's that night for sure. That's what they do, though!

Now the appetizers... those carried the whole meal. The chicken bites had too much breading, so I probably wouldn't get those again. But the mozzarella sticks were honestly some of the best I've had. Born and raised in the "Sunshine State," I don't often have to worry about washing my car, which is great, because I hate doing it. Unfortunately, in Virginia, it snows, and while I love the snow, I hate the salt, dirt, mud, crap, garbage that inevitably sticks to my vehicle after the roads have been plowed. After about a day, my race-car red Focus looks sand-blasted and sad. After getting gas (reasonable prices), I opted for the ULTIMATE CAR WASH! The selection set me back $12; however, you get $0.20 off every gallon at the pump, which is a great way to encourage patrons to fill up their tank. I only saved $2.40, but it's better than nothing. I know this review is new, but I can't shake the feeling that other customers already knew about the secret magical properties of this automatic car wash since I waited for literally an hour and a half in line before it was finally my turn. At first, I was dismayed, but unable to retreat due to being gridlocked into the lengthy feeder road; however, it was well worth it, because after the high-pressure hoses and spinning brushes that doused, lathered, scrubbed, rinsed, and polished my car, it feels new again. This was going to…read morebe a large Sheetz run as I was going to go hard on food since it had been a minute since I had my Sheetz fix. I arrived and immediately went inside to attack the touchscreen. I want to point out here that this was prior to Sheetz removing tots from their menu. Actually mere days before they did so. I made sure to order my fair share of tots. I got myself a tots platter and an appetizer with tots as a part of the trio. I ordered a few other items and made my way to pay. After paying I waited for my food to be prepared. This was a decent end to the run and made for the end of my day after shopping and stopping well worth it. I sat there in anticipation of my food and maybe salivated a bit. I got lost in my thoughts until I heard my number yelled out. After my food was ready I went outside to set up the appetizer in my vehicle to eat on the ride home. I stuck around a bit before getting in my vehicle to set the GPS (I still get lost down here). Before I even reached the register, he aggressively demanded my ID in front of other customers instead of letting me show it at checkout. When I expressed that I would show it at the register, he refused and continued to be rude. To make things worse, he even put his hands on me, which is completely unacceptable. I left feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. I understand ID checks are required, but there's a professional way to do it. Management needs to train their employees on how to treat customers with respect. I will be reporting this to Sheets corporate!!
