However, I was not surprised to find that my credit card had been charged a higher tip than we wrote in. I was suspicious of the bill because the charge slip was different from the first time we visited, and I made a note to check later. So, watch out for that. Otherwise the food was pretty decent. The curry chicken and the crab stuffed mahi were particularly good. The key lime pie and crab mac and cheese were just meh.

For us, the food complimented the great service (by Sunni) and great view. Mahi Mahi Rueben, doesn't sound like it should work but it does. Get it blackened and man that made it even better! It was so good I got it each time and thought there was no reason to order anything different. All the food ordered was good but that was the highlight. All in all, nothing but praise for this place all around.

Definitely not a "bargain" as some other places on the island are for lunch, but chances are, if you're staying at the resort, you don't really care too much about a bargain. The staff is friendly, and they make a point (if you're a guest) to refer to you by your name, which is comforting (how did that gal know my name - I had just checked in?). The bartender we had was friendly and attentive and didn't mind so much the request for something that wasn't on the menu (but then again, how hard is Myers's and Pineapple?). The CBB&G also has beach service. Unfortunately, that is where they lose me. The two drinks we ordered from the gal on the beach were hot and they took FOR EVER to get. Food was adequate. I didn't feel too ripped off (after all, this IS a resort), except when I ordered sushi. I think I'm just spoiled by the riches of my favorite Birmingham sushi join (see: http://www.yelp.com/biz/jinsei-sushi-birmingham#hrid:vG7n6leCFicaYWNOqrlE8A). There are other options on the menu, and I mostly opted for the salads, which were creative, when dining there. I had seen this place driving by but was mistaken when I thought they only sold burger/bar food (I have never been more happy to be proven wrong). We tried a bunch of different rolls and loved all of them. Everything was really well made, and because we sat at the bar we were able to watch the sushi chef make the rolls fresh to order. I love how the rolls were unique, and that there were a bunch of interesting sides/appetizers to choose from. The time that we came in to eat, we noticed it wasn't overly crowded like the other popular restaurants nearby frequented by vacationers, but it is definitely a local favorite!
