Although she was told that we did not need their services as we had already decided on another company she visited multiple times to hard sell her services. She would not take no for an answer and it was to the level of harassment. After she was told no for the final time, we received a call from Washington L&I regarding a call they received about improper asbestos-related work in our home. We had already tested the home to confirm that there was no asbestos related materials. This resulted in additional work and headache for us to refute this false report. During this disastrous time for me and my family, most of the people we have interacted with have been extremely helpful and understanding. It is unfortunate that there are some people out there who want to take advantage of our misfortune. I do not want an apology or any contact from your business. I want you to stop doing this to people, especially people who are trying to recover from a disaster. P.S. if you are an employee of this business, know that we have video monitoring of our property including of your visits. It will be difficult for you to pretend that you did not continue visiting our home even after you were told no repeatedly. Gee that's still a $95.75 increase. Even the rental markets for apartments only go up 10%. I do not recommend this company as I still feel like they gouged me and took advantage. I was able to see less cost for similar storage than current pricing before I decided on Secure Space and I hope all company's don't do this. If I had known they would do this I would have chosen another, closer to me, storage unit. I feel like I'm locked in as getting stuff to storage was costly and to remove it will be also, so I guess I'm stuck. Customer service through company office is not consistent and what reflected at office is not always same as talking and securing on line. One has to follow up to guarantee pricing. I will compliment the office staff as they are sympathetic, helpful and personal and units appear secure. I'm not sure these 2 benefits are worth the $98.00 monthly increase. I do plan on getting my things removed ASAP but that's dependent on circumstances currently waiting upon. I can't wait to vacate and save $100. Per month. I had just gotten a bigger unit for storage and left on vacation for three weeks, only to come back and find bite marks, fecal matter and urine stains on all of my items. I was told by staff that they were installing countermeasures to prevent the rats from coming into units, but mine was not given the same treatment, and the rats ended up using my storage unit as a toilet. They were up front and transparent about any extra charges (we were charged $150 for the 32 steps up to our flat). And these guys worked HARD with hardly any downtime or breaks. I was floored. You may be able to find a lower hourly rate with other moving companies in the city but I was beyond pleased with their hard work and was happy to pay the rate with how quickly they got the job done. I understand the truck broke down, but at some point it should have been considered renting a truck. The crew was 7.5 hours late. They did not even mention the fact upon arrival. The truck they brought already had some furniture in it among other things. The crew was in a hurry except when they decided it was time to chat with each other. They did not treat my things with care (as advertised), they just tossed things around. They took things apart without making sure all the pieces were together. I am still missing some shelves they took out of furniture. Some things were broken. They used tape on painted wooden furniture which took off the paint or left a sticky mess behind. When I gave instructions as to what needed to be taken I repeated myself constantly. They did not seem to understand most of what I stated clearly. They did not communicate with me about most things they were doing, they just did whatever they saw fit. They left a huge mess and a 10' truck load of furniture that I had to pay for to move the next day. Thankfully my handyman helped us move what was left behind. Upon arriving at the new location they were in a hurry to get done. I asked that the furniture be placed in the proper room. That seemed to me an impossible feat. More than 3 times I asked them to move a large cabinet to the spare bedroom. There is no way that I could move it later on my own. Again, they did not communicate well. If I was not in the room they would just put things anywhere. When the truck was empty of my things the one who seemed to be in charge came for payment. They did not arrive until approximately 7:15 pm and finished about 11:15pm. He stated that it took 5 hours. I did not think about it at the time. I was stressed out by the chaos. But is seems to me did not work out that way in math class. I payed over $900 for my life and possessions to become a huge confusing mess. I discovered after they left that the furniture that had come with the truck was left outside the dumpster at the new location. Really unprofessional all around. The youngest one seemed to be the nicest and he did try to understand what I wanted. Too bad they didn't all try.  Overall, I do not think that I got what I paid for. I would like to see some of my money reimbursed. There should be some compensation for the 7.5 hour delay on a moving day that everything was timed around, (cleaning, carpets, etc.) when so much time was lost. The next day was pure hell! If not for the quick work and thinking of my handyman I would still be in a state of confusion. As it is I had to take extra days off work to try and make some sense of the mess. When I called they said they had to review the issue. No one ever got back to me.
