I moved from Boston to Martha's Vineyard last November, and they couldn't have been better. They answered all my nervous questions, mostly in a timely fashion except maybe once or twice, but I called a lot because I hadn't moved in 30 years. As for the move itself, it went smoothly, the guys helped me finish packing when that was not what I'd intended but, oops! I fell behind a bit. They even got my plants down to the vineyard without incident, and I have a ficus, and a 10-foot tree. When they set the furniture down in the new place, they put it down very carefully, so there was no scraping on the floor. Now I'm moving again to another place on the Vineyard, and I immediately called Barnes again.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Flagship Sun Self Storage. I paid a premium for a…read moreclimate‑controlled unit specifically to protect my belongings from moisture and rodents, yet many of my items were damaged with visible signs of black mold. The photos clearly show that the facility failed to meet the standards it advertises. What made this worse was the company's response. It was dismissive, unhelpful, and showed no real concern for resolving the issue. I chose this facility because I believed it was reputable, but based on how this situation was handled, that is clearly not the case. I would not recommend this storage provider to anyone looking for safe, reliable storage.

The driver was obnoxious, complaining and stomping around, snarling and glowering with teeth clenched, and I told him I didn't appreciate it. He took offense. By the time Colony got here, my husband and I, age 76, were exhausted, working on too little sleep for days. We didn't need complaints from a well-rested prima donna who'd just come back from FOUR DAYS off with pay (long Thanksgiving weekend). Colony couldn't find a substitute driver and crew. Thank goodness, we were able to find a local company that stepped in. Otherwise, we'd have been non-compliant with our closing agreement.
