I paid a premium for a…read moreclimate‑controlled unit specifically to protect my belongings from moisture and rodents, yet many of my items were damaged with visible signs of black mold. The photos clearly show that the facility failed to meet the standards it advertises. What made this worse was the company's response. It was dismissive, unhelpful, and showed no real concern for resolving the issue. I chose this facility because I believed it was reputable, but based on how this situation was handled, that is clearly not the case. I would not recommend this storage provider to anyone looking for safe, reliable storage.

Being able to communicate via email, and getting all my many questions answered quickly, was a huge advantage over other companies I contacted. Jim was running slightly late at his previous job, but called me ahead of time to let me know, which I appreciated. And I surely put him in the exact same position with his next client, as I kept adding things beyond what we originally discussed I wanted removed once he was here, including a queen sized mattress/boxspring and a heavy bureau. And at the end of the job, Jim asked for the exact same payment he had originally quoted, which was slightly less than the other quote I received from a competitor (we decided to add on ourselves, but it was a generous offer). Everyone was extremely nice, friendly, and wore masks when inside without me having to ask. Highly recommend.

As an antique dealer, I have many business friends who also use storage facilities throughout New England and I get to hear all their problems and complaints. Luckily, that is not the situation here. Even in inclement weather the area is always plowed and or shoveled to easily access my unit. I've never had a problem with gate access and clean restrooms are always available - even though it's not a climate controlled unit, I have never had any damage from water or moisture, and never hesitate to leave anything in my unit.

James Drake and his team were patient, kind, and genuinely caring throughout the entire process. My mom loved them. James is thorough, detailed, and professional. Communication was excellent from start to finish. He stayed responsive at every step and coordinated seamlessly with our move manager, which made a complicated situation feel manageable. We also faced intense New England weather challenges, and James and his crew stayed positive and can-do at every turn. They protected important belongings, set aside sentimental items like old photos, donated usable furniture and clothing, and provided receipts for tax purposes. They broom-swept the attic, basement, garage, and shed areas and flagged things like mouse activity so nothing was overlooked. What stood out most was their integrity and care. James even adjusted pricing when the job came in lower than estimated. We got quotes from several movers and cleanout crews before choosing them, and Drake's prices were very good. It has been a pleasure working with James and his team. I highly recommend Drake Cleanouts & Moving.
