The get three stars because it is always clean, and the staff is very friendly. Why only 2 because I rented my storage unit on November 21, 2024, for $ 231.00 a month. 4 months later it goes up to $324.00 a month. Do I feel suckered yes. If it wasn't so time consuming to move my stuff I would and don't get me wrong, I still may. I have a family member who was getting ready to rent unit but a increase like this just changed their minds. read more

Absolutely worst business I've ever experienced! I don't ever complain but this has to be known if it can help others. My things were there for 2 yrs. The price went up almost %50 and care got dramatically worse resulting in all damaged and not salvageable. In addition, about 2 months ago they had someone call customers telling them that after years of knowing their building was falling a part and REFUSING to correct it, the first floor customers would need to move their stuff out but NOT for another month because it's too dangerous! I had to wait til they said I could see my things then I was told I had a week to get stuff out IF I WAS SALVAGABLE if I wanted a month refund! I've been using this location for 1.5 years and Becky has been amazing to me. My unit was stuck because it was packed to the top, cold wet and rainy outside yet she took her time out to help me get my unit open and assist me in moving around boxes! Not to mention she saved some of my belongings from crashing to ground and being damaged! Without Becky I would have been helpless! She's always so kind when ever I come in to the office to pay my bill! Thank you again for all you do Becky! Wonderful people in this cold world are hard to come by!! read more

This place is an intense rip off. I was in a jam and just picked the first storage place I saw. Bad move. They are stupid expensive and their units aren't that well sealed. Had water get in, leaves, spiders everywhere. Then every like six months they will raise your rent. I would recommend staying away from this place. read more

Great experience getting a unit here today! We were quoted for the first month free, when we got here they had already rented out that locker. The lady working with us, honored that on a different locker. Was super helpful. Super easy experience. They auto withdraw, which I LOVE, because I don't have to remember it's there and needing paid. All around good experience. The unit was clean. The property was really clean and nice. The unit is TALL. Nearly doubles your space compared to other ones. read more

_UPDATE_ We had the unit for three months (we were waiting for our house to be ready so we could move in). In that time- our items/storage unit were just fine. No problems at all- they even painted the units while our items were there- and not a spot of paint on anything. We had one visit when we couldn't get the door open to our unit (and I thought it might be due to being freshly painted). The Manager came over and helped us lift the door. Turns out it had been because of poorly stacked boxes that had fallen and prevented the door from sliding easily. I have to say- I dislike storage units because who feels safe with your items in some remote location where you can't easily check to see if they're okay, right? But this place kept our items secured. The units were clean. They had constant surveillance. The billing was straight forward, scheduled, and you get full notice when you have been charged each month.. and I just have zero complaints about this storage facility. ___ We've had this unit for almost a month now. The location is very clean and well maintained, The units have high ceilings, and full walls that reach those ceilings (some places have wire tops which.. ugh.. I want a little more security). They have surveillance cameras- and, as we noticed several times while moving things into our unit- if they see some one come through that they don't recognize, they will hop in their golf cart and drive by just to make sure things are on the up and up. Now I'll admit, I called several places before finding this one. It's not quite in the location we'd like (it's a little far away from our current house), but they were one of the very few storage facilities in the area that actually HAD a unit available in the size we needed. These are the pitfalls of living in an area near military bases- finding storage is a pain. The staff were friendly, and completely transparent about issues that arrive from having items in storage. They had some really helpful suggestions on how to keep our items best protected, and also provided materials and such in case you need to tape a box or repack something. As soon as we set up an appointment, they texted me with confirmation, emailed me with the same, and texted a map to me the morning of our appointment so there would be no problem finding them. I love companies that understand the importance of utilizing modern technology to assist customers. The units are dry. The lots are clean of debris and weeds. There are surveillance cameras on the site. The units are actually raised a little bit to prevent flood water or clogged storm drains from creating a problem. The units are really clean with no stains, spots, or smells-- and they are VERY adamant about no food being allowed in the units- which zomg, yes-- no one wants mice and rats gnawing in to their clothes because someone 3 units down decided to store a sack of dog food in with the rest of their stuff. (no signs of animal droppings, spider webs, or anything that looked like it could be a problem). All in all, thus far, it seems very clean, and very professionally run. We'll only have this unit for a few months, and if anything changes, I'll of course come in and update my review- but as it stands now- I've seen some really crappy storage units in my life. Ones that make you worry about biological infection, ones that make you worry the roof is going to cave in if a heavy storm hits, ones run by really creepy lecherous people you wouldn't trust further than you could throw-- I didn't see any of those red flags, and was actually fairly pleased with the blunt honestly and openess of the employee we worked with. It seems clean, secure, and professionally run. I'd recommend it to any of my friends if they needed units in the area. read more

The staff here are terrific, watchful and very nice, they care about your property so security is high, long access hours, and an absolutely beautiful setting facing the reservoir on 84th Street so you can enjoy some not so often seen wildlife activity just adds a big piece of wonderful to this business while you do your business. BEWARE!! They may have great low pricing online, but once they have you moved in, they will raise the rates. After only 4 months we were given a significant rate increase. Even though their online offers were much lower than what we currently were paying they were not willing to bring down the price even with a year in advance of payments. We also received quite the run around by the onsite manager Kathy, who didn't let us know who she was the first time we spoke with her. She referred us to Corporate saying that there was nothing that she could do. We called Corporate and they told us that we would have to talk to "Steven" the onsite manager and that there was nothing that they could do. We called Extra Space Storage again and Kathy told us that "Steven" was not in and that she didn't know his schedule but that she thought he would be back on Saturday. My husband made a special trip into town to talk to "Steven" personally since we were getting nowhere on the phone. When he arrived, Kathy was in the office and when we asked for Steven the manager, she said that there was no Steven and that she was the onsite manager. So basically, both Kathy and Corporate lied to us and gave us the run around for 3 days. We would strongly recommend you steer clear from this business who has no morals and teaches their managers to lie and cheat customers. read more

Last month (September) our lock on our storage unit was not working much anymore. We decided we would get a new lock for it in a couple days when we had more time. After a couple days we received a generic email saying it was sorry we had to leave and was asking for us to take a closing survey. We never cancelled our unit. We called Extra Space Storage Unit to see what was going on and they told us that since they noticed there was no lock on the unit they went through it and assumed we just left our stuff behind. WITHOUT CALLING US they hauled all our stuff to the dump and closed the unit on us. They said that it wasn't unusual for people to leave stuff behind without notifying them and that they were going to charge us for taking our stuff to the dump as well. We had already paid for the month of September 1.5 weeks prior of them throwing all our stuff away and we had the unit paid for until Oct 9 (we never were late on a payment either). The district manager said they would refund our money. 4 weeks later we are still waiting! Shady shady shady! read more

AH!!!! The 9 $ was delivered to ess 80th st as promised, The money has been sent ESS at 80th st has it.Actually, I have sent about 500$ to ESS this am, just tomake sure they have enough to cover there phony charges for now. Also, if you send a complaint on the ESS home page, it mysteriously breaks and cant be used to send complaints. That says a lot about the people that run ESS.Also, since ess has the money, all they need to do is there basic job and apply the payments recieved. BUT, I predict Kathy , after all her late charge threats will see the money is there , and the NOT open it and apply it to my account. Thats an old trick power trippin clerks like kathy do. Anyway, Thats why I sent the 500$ extra this am, Ill send more if kathy wants it. . Anyway, Im predicting thiswillall be settled in a few months by small claims or attorneys. Thats how low class operations like ESS operate. I made a mistake choosing them. Theres to many well run storage units at better prices within 3 miles of this dump. Avoid them. read more
