The staff has, on several occasions, proven to be professional and friendly, eager to assist clients in any way they can. I was especially impressed when, after inadvertently leaving our unit unlocked, someone contacted me to say that they had discovered my oversight and locked the unit for us. They called so that I could visit the unit and make sure that nothing was missing. If they had not made this extra effort, our unit could have been left unlocked for months! Frank was always so friendly and accommodating. All of my office interactions were handled very professionally. The unit worked well and carts were almost always available (in my two years I only had to go look for a cart once). Many of my unit visits were at night and the sensor hallways lights worked well. It was hard to see in my unit as they are not lit, so I just made sure I always had a flashlight when going at night. The only negative is there is a big wind tunnel around the outside of the building I was in, and the carts would roll on the incline so you had to prop the full cart against your car to hold it in place. Locking wheels on the carts would save a lot of headaches. The incline on the driveway is necessary for drainage so adding some type of system to help with loading and unloading would be helpful. Overall my experience here was great thanks to the friendly staff! read more

Very good customer service. Good accessibility and hand carts are normally available. Big problem is that unit prices are going up often and significantly. My unit rent has increased by 276% in 2 years which is ridiculous. Rates are based on market conditions and high demand equals high and frequent increases. This may or not be true of competing storage facilities. Computer modelling seems to drive the price analysis and resulting automatic rate increases so build that into your budget if you plan to rent for an extended period. read more

I've used Extra Space storage for most of the 10 years I've lived on Maui. I've never had any problems with the units. They're always clean and I've never had any problems with bugs or mice which is common in storage facilities. Recently Kelly and Cher helped me out huge with my move to the mainland. They were accommodating, friendly, and understanding. They helped make a stressful situation, I was put in by a trucking company, go away with their help. BRENDA is the store manager & how she achieved that position is beyond me. This place is a SCAM. Brenda is probably the RUDEST person I've ever met. Her motto must be "I am always right, screw the customers". Be careful when you reserve a space online because when you show up she will say it's no longer available but try to sell you something for double the price. What a SCAM. Also while I was waiting, Brenda was "helping" a woman, speaking down to her, was so condescending, this poor woman left in tears of frustration. I felt so bad for her. We have rented a storage unit for 3 yrs. In that time, our rent has gone from $45.00 to $92.00 Then to make matters worse we found that our unit was broken in to. We are on the 2nd floor, with no survey cameras. We needed to call the police. And after the office had mentioned that there has never been a robbery there. The police officer had said its happened before. With not knowing when the unit was broken into, as we hadn't gotten into it for 2 mos, it was hard to know when this would have happened. Plus to even figure out what has been stolen, has made us empty the entire unit. This is covered under our Homeowners insurance. But only for $5,000. Who knows who else has been robbed like us, and 1/2 the people never hardly go to their units. read more

They gave me a great deal, and even after I agreed to the price they saved me even another $3 a month. Their hours are awesome as well. A definite recommend - they will work with your needs, are extremely polite and patient, and all around a great experience. I would recommend this place to anyone who is not a complainer or nit picky and think they are entitled. It's funny how most of the comments are all bad because someone didn't read or understand the terms of rental agreement. dont knock something down that you voluntarily walked into . Storage for the airport! It was perfect, our condo didn't offer to store our luggage and since 9/12 the airport doesn't offer lockers. We were in a bind! We rented a convertible which was fantastic but we sat with luggage on our laps and all around us. Thanks to extra space storage we were able to play all day and pick up our luggage at 10 pm just before our flight. They were friendly and easy to work with! read more

I rented a 10x10 unit for a month last week and personally had nothing but positive experiences with this specific location while moving homes here on Maui so far. Anna helped my wife and I out and did a fantastic job with the process directly from the start from answering my call promptly and every question I had with complete professionalism and explained the rental agreements with no hesitation or issues. I called other storage unit companies in the area and received voicemails or apathetic employees who seemed rather annoyed to answer my questions or value my time and business... The relatively new looking modern style facility was kept up really nice on the inside and out. Our indoor unit she showed to us was exactly what we received and was really clean with no visible dirt or bugs! There is a loading dock connected to the building for easy unloading along with a ramp with ample medium sized carts to push your items up without lifting/carrying them into the elevator or first floor.... Facility seems rather safe to me with cameras in plain sight tucked back off the main road away from town with reasonable access hours, compared to other unit locations. Would recommend them for the South Maui Kihei/Wailea/Maalaea areas, haven't tried their Kahului location but imagine the service is just as identical. Aloha! read more
