After barely a month in storing my stuff there I was warned by family and friends that these guys…read moreraise their rates monthly. I should've listened. After my 1st month in my unit had an attempted burglary someone broke my lock off and jammed the lever luckily they couldn't get in. The only positive is the manager Travis trying to make things right by moving me to a different unit however the company decided to raise every one's rates $60 more including mines. Really bad business to raise rates more so with someone that just moved in and attempted burglary. I moved to another storage company at the old Kmart location in which I found a lot more convenient and cheaper and they won't raise the rates on you every month. Extra space storage is losing customers to competition because of raising prices unexpectedly.

AC has been broken, so it's not climate controlled. They say they have 24 hour security. They do not! Water going into my storage for weeks, no phone call so I could save my things. All destroyed from water and mold. Standing water in the building for days. Thieves also came, cut locks and spent hours going through units including one of mine. Taking several things that took time to get off the property. They had hours to go through multiple storages!!! How?! Both times no apology, no care for loss, no compensation. Some of the damage from the flooding could have been saved with a phone call! So neglectful, so irresponsible. This place and the employees like Matthew, who I originally thought was a pretty decent guy, do not care about your things! They do not provide insurance and say you are instructed to provide your own. Which I was not. Every other unit I have ever rented had insurance added to the monthly rent. If you care about the things you need to store this is not the place! Avoid it at all costs!

They couldn't think creatively enough to come up with solutions that didn't make things worse for customers. Just restrict, restrict, restrict. And they blamed me for not covering everything, or requesting the attendant to cover it. Yet in the beginning they didn't advise me that I should.
