Everything was already packed and most items were disassembled, with the exception of one bed and an entertainment center. All belongings were staged in one easily accessible area, ready to be loaded. My new home is only 11 minutes away, yet it took a team of three movers over 5 hours, nearly 6, to complete the move. To put that into perspective, I've used movers before with fewer people and a much longer drive of about 45 minutes, and they still completed the entire move in under 3 hours. There was nothing efficient or "graceful" about this experience. The excessive amount of time it took is completely unacceptable, especially given how prepared everything was. To make matters worse, I still have to reassemble my furniture myself. At the pace they were moving, I can only imagine how much longer it would have taken if they had done it. Overall, I feel taken advantage of and would not use or recommend this company.

In the end, it was Square Cow's overly confident answering service that convinced me to go with them. Big mistake. I hired them to move a large bedroom set from a second-floor bedroom to the garage--something I clearly communicated was not a simple task. I had over four phone calls, sent multiple photos, and explicitly discussed the risks and challenges involved. Each time, I was told everything was "in the notes" and the movers would be properly equipped with straps and the right tools. I even spoke directly with the operations manager the day before the move. He reassured me--again--that his crew would be fully prepared. He even advised me not to purchase additional insurance, claiming it was an easy job and not worth the extra cost. Then moving day arrived. The crew showed up completely unprepared. No straps. No proper equipment. Within minutes, they dropped the first piece of furniture, severely damaging it. The rest of the move was borderline reckless. The crew themselves admitted that Square Cow doesn't provide them with tools or care about their safety--or the customers' belongings. According to them, "Square Cow only cares about making money." After my experience, I believe it. I filed a damage claim, and now I'm stuck in their slow, unresponsive process that may take up to 90 days to maybe--maybe--get a fraction of what the damage is worth. Bottom line: they talk a good game on the phone, but they have zero follow-through. The left hand has no clue what the right is doing, and they clearly don't equip their crews to do the job safely or professionally. Their so-called claims department is a joke. Don't fall for the sales pitch. There are better, more honest companies out there. Square Cow Movers is not one of them.

On the move day, they were scheduled to have 3 people to empty our 2 large Pods. They arrived 10 minutes early, which never happens, and they had a 4th person to assist. One for which we were not charged. They were quick, careful, and every single person worked hard. It became apparent that they would finish prior to the 3 hour minimum. I mentioned to John, who came himself to supervise, that there was 1 item going to my daughters home 20 minutes away, and I had several items we had stored at her home that we needed to move as well. We hadn't contracted them for a truck, or the 2nd location, but John quickly figured out a price to add the extra to our move. The price was great, and they saved me renting a truck or trailer and doing it myself next weekend. As I said at the beginning... 11 states and 13 or 14 moves. This is our last.
