Although they didn't have the larger sized unit we needed, we took two smaller units and the price for both was reasonable. Getting paperwork done and moved in was pretty easy. Although I knew w were going in on promotional rates, when I inquired about future rate increases I was told rates do go up but they are reasonable when raising the rates. That turned out to be be utter BS. Six months in and we just received notifications that both units were jumping in price by nearly double. Oddly....they also raised the price of the "insurance" which made no sense since it presumably is a pass through with an insurer. The rate jumped from $185 per month to $328 per month. When I wrote to the manager to express my displeasure on September 7, I promptly got a response indicating, "let me look into this for you, give me a couple of days". Never heard another word and now two and a half weeks later they charged me the higher rate. We moved to avoid this kind of price gouging tactic to a company we assumed wouldn't bait and switch us like this. But they did anyway. Beware of this price tricks from CubeSmart.

I rented a unit and moved in the end of December 2023 and they sent a rent increase May 2024. This confused me because I have never seen a large rent increase like that, especially so soon after I moved in my unit. I called in May, the general manager ( Tammy) told me they sometimes have " yearly increases " and I informed her I haven't even been in there for 6 months, let alone a year. She said she would look into and give me a call back. I never received a call back from her or any further information. I called two weeks later, an employee answered and claimed they were going to speak to the company and get back to me. I never received a call back. I called two days ago asking about the status and he again said, he is going to speak to the company and call me back. I never got a call back. I finally just went inside the location and the general manager was extremely rude and nonchalant about the entire thing. I asked her if they would be decreasing the rate when the street rate goes down since that was the justification for It going up and she said no, that doesn't happen. I said so at any point in time you all can increase the rate whenever you feel like It and It won't ever go down, she said yes. I said to her why didn't someone inform me that there is a possibility of increases prior to a year and she said " it's not my job for you to read the lease". I said I called back in may and things are still not resolved and her response was " you aren't our only customer" and she lied and said they have been sending me emails and texts, both were false because the only communication between us was when I was calling and emailing. As I'm continuing to ask questions, she stated " i'm not arguing with you so you can leave my office". I firmly said no because I was requesting information for the corporate office. She wouldn't give me the information. It got to the point where she just stopped responding all together as i'm trying to speak to her and ignored me as i'm standing there. Along with the other employees who just stood there acting like I wasn't there. No solution was provided and no response from corporate was given even though they claimed they reached out to them. It was clear that they couldn't care less about their customers because they are just trying to fill their units for the highest price possible and push out all existing customers with their sneaky financial gain tactics. Overall this is the worst storage unit experience I have ever had. Don't be fooled by the rates they give you up front because in a couple months they will go up and continue to go up until the pockets of the company are satisfied. They are money hungry and don't care about customers at all. Be very cautious when considering this location. Also be very cautious of this extremely rude manager. Here is our story: Our family had a very disappointing experience with "Community Moving" while relocating my elderly parents closer to us in Lexington, Virginia. What was supposed to be a carefully planned move for two elderly parents instead became a stressful and chaotic experience that left us dealing with damaged belongings and days of additional work to sort through improperly packed boxes. We chose this company not only because it is owned by veterans, but because of the company's mission and values. These meant a great deal to my family. This was not a typical move. My dad is retired military and this is their 17th and final move. My parents are now both in their 80s, and the relocation was meant to bring them into a safer home where we could help care for them. Because of that, we spent a great deal of time speaking with the company beforehand about the size of the move and the need for careful handling of antiques, heirlooms, and fragile items. We also provided photos and videos of the home so the estimate could be as accurate as possible. Despite those preparations, the move itself was far more chaotic than we expected. The truck plan changed shortly before the move, and later, additional trucks and packing materials had to be acquired by the company. Packing did not match what we had discussed ahead of time. Some fragile items and antiques were packed in ways that caused damage, and several pieces of furniture and household items arrived broken, stress fractured and in poor condition. The labeling of boxes was also inconsistent, which made unpacking extremely difficult. Many boxes contained mixed items from different rooms or had little description of the room or contents, which meant nearly every box had to be opened and sorted before anything could be put away. Because of the condition of the packing and delivery, we had to spend several additional days reorganizing the house with the help of friends and family. This was particularly challenging given my parents' age and health, and it added significant stress during what was already an emotional transition. We did communicate our concerns to management and provided documentation, photos and videos of the issues we discovered during unpacking. While conversations took place, the outcome did not fully resolve the situation for our family. This review reflects our family's direct experience with this move and the condition of items as they were unpacked. Moving elderly parents and transporting a lifetime of belongings requires careful planning, clear communication, and attention to detail. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone planning a large or complex move ask very detailed questions about packing methods, labeling procedures, and truck capacity before choosing a moving company. We did, but "Community Moving" fell short of our expectation. At present time, we are waiting on some resolutions with the company.
