This, the third (?) watch I have purchased from Exquisite Timepieces in Naples, Florida over my several years of collecting, all with the professional help of one of their fine representatives, Jenya. The first two transactions rather routine with Jenya giving her opinions and knowledge in helping me make specific choices in the models. Both were delivered in record time once I'd made my decision. This most recent purchase took a much different path. I had come across a new variation of an Oris watch which had been introduced about 8 years ago with an in-house Oris 113 manual wind movement. The new model was rather flashy for myself but I admired the layout and discovered the original models had more conventional dial colors, in this case silver. Contacting Jenya we determined the specific watch I'd in mind and proceeded with a payment schedule to terminate just before the seasonal holidays. She assured me at that time there would be no problems and the watch was available. Contacting her several months later I indicated I was prepared to close out the remaining balance and she should prepare the watch for shipment. Several days later I received a call from her during which she expressed her concern and sorrow indicating the watch wasn't currently available! Evidently when Oris introduced the new variation they discontinued the original model. Indicating she had contacted her usual purveyors, the watch simply couldn't be found. I was offered an immediate refund but I still (really!) wanted the watch and we decided to wait a few days, possibly a week during which time she would contact other possible resources for the watch. Everyone still awake?? Well, I began searching dealers throughout the USA and other countries and, lo and behold, found one in Australia from a dealer who assured me there was one available! I did some background vetting and found the dealer to be legit. I want the watch but really didn't want to go through the often arduous task of overseas purchase through a wire transfer and going through customs. I contacted Jenya who began the marathon task of contacting the Oris distributor in Australia, validating the existence of the watch, having it returned to Oris for examination and any needed adjustments (this a new watch) and forwarding it to her at Exquisite Timepieces and finally to me! What a journey and, without the steadfast "dog on a bone" attitude of Jenya and following a lead, I'd not be admiring and wearing this fine watch, which just arrived today! Initial customer service involving the purchase of the watch was quite attentive, however, there was a very steep drop off once payment was rendered I purchased a watch from the website and things went smoothly enough until the shipping process started. The location of the store is in South Florida, and the address it was being shipped to was only a few hours away in the same state. When I discovered that the package had ended up in Memphis Tennessee, and had been stagnant for 18 hours I brought this to the attention of Avagail, the customer service representative I have been dealing with. I had paid for two day shipping because I needed the watch in a precise time frame, and when I explained that the package was not in route to my address, it was explained to me that it was not their problem, and she, nor the company was in anyway responsible. When I suggested an alternate course of action involving them sending me a replacement, and the missing watch being returned them as soon as I received it, I was immediately told that was not an option. Despite explaining to them that I was being forced to trust in a system that was clearly flawed, and asking them to put a little trust in the customer, they flatly refused. Only reiterating that I would need to contact FedEx to fix the issue as the customer, and them, as the seller were in no way responsible for the process. Basically they had received their money and were no longer concerned about my needs.. I've then inquired as to what the process was to receive a refund, and was told that I would need to ship the watch back to them to be inspected prior to them issuing a refund... the watch that is currently sitting in a facility in Tennessee, controlled by a shipping company that refuses to provide any additional information on it. Once it became clear that I was not going to be able to resolve any of my issues with Avagail I requested to speak to someone higher up in the managerial chain. Since then it has been complete radio silence. I would highly recommend steering clear of this business and purchase directly from whatever dealer manufacturer of the time piece is that you may be looking at. I want to share my experience with Exquisite Timepieces as objectively as possible. I ordered and prepaid for a Longines HydroConquest 39 mm Frost Blue with Milanese bracelet. At the time of purchase, I was told that the expected delivery time was approximately eight weeks. After nine weeks, I still had no watch and, more importantly to me, very little communication or information regarding the status of my order. I understand completely that delivery dates for a new or difficult-to-obtain watch can change and that a retailer does not necessarily control when the manufacturer delivers the product. What disappointed me was the lack of proactive communication and the difficulty I experienced getting updates after having prepaid for the watch. Eventually, I decided to cancel the order and requested a refund, which was processed. I subsequently went directly to the Longines Boutique at Aventura Mall and ordered the same watch. I prepaid on August 31, and on September 19 I received a message that my watch had arrived. I picked it up the following day. The communication and service throughout that transaction were excellent. I am not writing this to bash Exquisite Timepieces, and my experience may not be representative of everyone else's. I simply think prospective customers--particularly those considering prepaying for a watch that is not currently in stock--should know about my experience. Pretty impressed with these guys. I buy a lot of watches and have access to some great stores in California, but I ordered a relatively inexpensive Seiko model a few months back, I was abaolutely shocked at how great their customer service was. You would have thought I bought a $100k watch with how thorough they were in the custmer service. All for a $600 watch. Fast forward a few months and I order 3 additional, significantly more expensive watches and the same level of care and service. To be honest, there isn't a huge difference in price from most places I buy from, but these guys' customer service is next level. My sale guy, Graham, took time out from a weding he was at to make sure my order got filled on time. Pretty impressive. And they're watch guys too!
