Several years ago we stopped in at Bigham Jewelers to obtain a price on a ring that had been in the family for years. Kathy(the owner was out of town) and her brother waited on us. Dan looked at ring with lupe and stated he had a better instrument in back room. Dan was gone close to ten minutes,came out and offered $5,000...We had an appraisal from a Massachusetts Jeweler years earlier for $13,000+ so we returned ring to safe deposit box. Recently when selling some jewelery, we had the ring looked at by a fifth ave. jeweler, and he stated that Bigham's was a good offer...which begs the question! what transpired 3yrs ago in that backroom at Bigham. Tried to discuss the matter with Kathy (the owner) but it appears that either she is not getting the message,or she doesn't care. Recent telephone conversation with Dan did not resolve the matter. The diamond on my engagement ring had loosened and a friend had recommended that I go to Bigham Jewelers to get it tightened. I went to the service desk and the man looked at it under the loupe and moved the diamond with his finger to confirm that it was in fact loose. He then told me he was going to bring it upstairs to get it tightened. I waited for about 5-10 minutes and then he came back down and said that there was a crack in the base of the prong that was not allowing the guy upstairs to fix it and that it essentially kept popping back open. He said his old eyes didn't see the crack under the loupe, but the other guy saw it. He informed me it would be a couple of weeks and a couple of hundred dollars. I took the ring back because I was going to Miami that weekend, where I have a family friend who is a jeweler and has made and repaired countless pieces of jewelry for my family. (I figured he would give me the best price.) I told him that the prong was cracked and wanted a quote on how much it would be to get it fixed. He looked at it under the loupe and said there were absolutely no cracks. He even allowed me to look at it for myself under the loupe. He tightened the ring no problem. He asked me how much they were asking to get it fixed and he legit laughed when I told him. He didn't make my engagement ring, so he really has no reason to lie about there not being a crack. I've learned my lesson and will not be going back to Bigham Jewelers and I recommend you do the same! read more

Maybe the worst experience I've ever had shopping... Exact date was Tues Jan 11, 2022, around noon. I was going in to look at engagement rings to purchase, but also a Rolex, so I started with that... I walk in and some old guy crusty white guy (owner?) comes out from the back, I tell him I just moved to Naples, interested in a Rolex (didn't mention the engagement ring yet, so test his sales pitch) and in no rush, trying to create a long term relationship. He proceeds to tell me, "I have 200+ people on our list, very wealthy people, its not even worth your time to put your name on our list. It could be 5 years before you hear from me.. " LITERALLY VERBATIM. (My friend is an AD in Chicago, so I know you're not allowed to say pretty much all of that, and made sure this got to the right person at Rolex). Treated me like an absolute garbage, I have lots of family in Naples who are well aware and will never buy jewelry there again. The most ironic part is the SAME DAY my Chicago AD (Tourneau, which also has a Naples location) called and got in my exact watch, a 126622 blue yachtmaster, and I flew to Chicago to purchase the next day. Tourneau has a store in Waterside shops as well, I would 10000% go there for anything you need. Bigham doesn't treat you with any respect unless you are 75 and bought 10 things from them. Can't believe Rolex still lets them be a AD, I've heard this story from many people my age (early 30s). I wont even get my watch serviced there. I dont like to write reviews, but this was so bad I decided to post 6 months later, as I haven't forgot. read more

I brought a friend with me and even though I had explained to him how special the stall was and he was shocked when I walked in how many of the representatives came over to greet me and say hi . First off this is a beautiful store with the largest collection of Rolex watches I have ever seen - drool. The service person was honest about my predicament, we decided to wait until I get home to have the buckle looked at by our jeweler, but if I let them take care of it I am confident it would be handled professionally. I have lived in Naples for seven years, and had yet to get rings I wanted sized, for 10 years! Finally, because my one ring had worn to the point of breaking, I choose Bingham Jewelers. I felt safe when I was buzzed into the show room. I was greeted immediately, and I asked where I could find the repair department. The associate happily walked me to the window. There was a jeweler, helping a client rework a pendant and chain of hers, and I enjoyed watching the creativity between the client and jeweler. Once done, it was my turn, and the receptionist was extremely knowledgeable and very pleasant. Because it is "season," the wait time for having two rings sized, was a month. That was my only disappointment, but like I said, it has already been 10 years! LOL. I was told the cost upfront, and handed a repair slip, that had a very fair estimate of the value of my 2 rings, along with a photo of each ring. Very nice. So, I pick up the rings in a few days, and I'll let you know how the workmanship is. I can only imagine it will be perfection. read more

Grave Concerns, Issues, and a Question for Other Bingham Customers I wanted to share a recent experience with Bingham Jewelers that left me horribly uneasy and concerned. My father has a 50-year-old classic Rolex that needed service. He took it into Bingham Jewelers who initially indicated the repair would cost somewhere between $750-$950. The repair ended up costing $1,200 after nearly 10 weeks. One week after picking up the watch, my father noticed it was NOT keeping the correct time. Very frustrated and disappointed with the service, he took the watch back to Bingham to have them repair it again. While all this transpired, my Rolex was brought to Bingham to be serviced. Bingham indicated it would be approximately 8 weeks and $750-$950 to service my watch. After approximately 3-4 weeks, I received a call from Bingham indicating my watch was ready for pickup. I was surprised but when I inquired if the person was certain, they indicated they were. So I went to pick up my watch and to my surprise, when I arrived and gave my name, they presented me with my father's watch. I immediately indicated that there must be some mistake. The watch was not mine but my fathers. I asked why I was called and apparently my telephone number was on my father's customer record. Dumbfounded, they then began to research the status of my watch. Although they could not physically produce my watch, I was told my watch was only in its 4th week of service and it would be some time before it would be completed. The Bingham staff then asked me if I wanted to take my father's Rolex with me. They never asked for a single piece of identification, nor was I asked to sign for anything, nor was my father called and asked whether they had permission to release his watch. Since it was not my watch, obviously I had no ticket or receipt to evidence that I should take it. Standing there stunned with my father's watch in hand, knowing they had mishandled its service and called the incorrect number for its pickup, I demanded that they send my watch to Rolex directly (in New York or Houston) for service. There had been a horrific breach of trust while I stood at the counter and I was not going to allow them to continue with my watch. Bingham indicated they would honor my request although I could sense a displeasure and attitude coming from the Bingham personnel. They were not pleased. My watch was never shown to me while I was there. Weeks later, I receive a letter in the mail from Bingham, sent to them by Rolex, indicating that one of the links on my watch was not an original Rolex link, and that Rolex would not service it (as it is Rolex policy not to service any watch that is not 100% original parts). My watch has been serviced by Rolex before in NY prior to giving it to Bingham. I have never had a problem nor has Rolex ever indicated in the past that my watch was anything but 100% original. Handwritten on the letter was a note from Bingham that indicated they did not have my correct contact info and were unable to reach me, and that is why they were forwarding the letter by mail. I spent the better part of 15 minutes when I was in the store confirming my contact info as well as my fathers. How could this still be an ongoing issue? I am gravely concerned that while in Bingham's care, one of the links on my watch may have been switched with a non-original link. I am writing this review to share my experiences and concerns and to see if anyone else has had similar experiences with Bingham. 1. Bingham called the wrong number to have someone pick up my father's classic 50-year-old Rolex. 2. Bingham gave away my father's Rolex without any identity check, signature or call to my father asking permission to release the watch. I had no receipt or ticket yet they let me take the watch. 3. Bingham had my Rolex for more than 4 weeks and yet they never identified the non-original link. Yet, once Bingham reassembled the watch, suddenly Rolex finds one and wants me to pay $510 to purchase a new link or they will not service the watch. 4. I did not learn any of this because Bingham called me, but rather through a letter sent by mail where Bingham indicated that they STILL did not have my correct contact info. Again, I share this experience as I feel Bingham has failed on so many professional levels to safeguard my father's watch, my watch, our personal information, etc. They failed to properly service my father's watch requiring it be brought back a second time. And after I suggested that I had lost confidence in their abilities and wanted the watch sent to Rolex directly for service, suddenly my watch had an unoriginal link, something never identified in its more than 20 years of service and something not identified by Bingham after 4 weeks with the watch in their possession. Finally, after after correcting my personal info with them, they still were not able to reach me, but instead had to forward a letter via mail. read more

I own a number of different brand fine watches. I like to utilize qualified repair folks with fair pricing. I was away for the weekend in Naples, Fl and my Concord Sportiva battery died as always happens when on vacation . I called several local fine watch jewelers who all said I'd have to leave the watch for several days even though I explained I was only here for the weekend and going to a wedding. Jonathan Price of Bigham handled me differently. After explaining my dilemma, he said he'd talk to the watchmaker and see what he could do even though they typically don't do service while you wait. The result is he had me come in, took my watch, gave me a cup of coffee, completed the service in 10 minutes while John and I talked for about an hour were he educated me tremendously about fine watches overall and repair suggestions and quoted me a great price on a new Rolex I've had my eye on that I'm hoping to buy in a couple of years. Any guess where I'll buy that watch...,from Johnathon of course. Additionally, I'm relocating to Naples in 2 years and now I know who my Naples Jeweler will be. Finally, again I'm sure not customary or policy but because I was an out of town visitor in trouble, there was NO CHARGE for the battery. This is service not often found these days and boy did Bighsm make a good investment; they have a new customer for all my fine watch repairs, hopefully will sell me a new Rolex in s few years, and I'm sure will satisfy all my wife's jewelry collection additions. I saw a WE BUY GOLD sign by the sidewalk on Tamiami Trail in front of Bigham Jeweler's. I had two Liberty $20 Gold coins that I wanted to sell and decided to obtain an offer for them. A woman (wearing no name badge) approached me immediately when I entered Bigham's and asked if I needed assistance. I showed her two gold coins that I wanted to sell. She said that she would have to weigh them and left to a closed door into a room and closed the door. I waited for 20-25 minutes and finally she returned and gave me an offer. The offer was well below value and I refused her offer. She gave me the coins and I put them in my purse. When I arrived home I discovered that the 1907 high relief uncirculated lustrous $20 gold coin I gave her was replaced with an 1874 coin looking like a AU 50. at best. I went back to the store sometime later and another woman approached me when I walked in and noting she was not the woman who conducted business with me earlier, I stated to lady what had happened as I had been roused.did not want to show my ignorance by not knowing her name and I told her what had happened. This lady stated, "We have a reputable business" and on and on. The bait was "WE BUY GOLD" and the switch was to replace a valuable coin with a lesser valuable coin. My expectation of Bigham's was not met and I feel betrayed. read more
