Find another contractor - its too large of an investment - too many negative reviews!!!! I am first time reviewer for any product or service. Potential clients need to be aware of working with this company We had a horrible experience with Exquisite. 1. Poor communication - they didnt respect our time. told us multiple times they would be at our house in one hour and then would call 3 hours later saying they couldn't make the appointment. then we would have to follow-up to reschedule. 2. Subs - several of their subs were unprofessional and disparaged the owners while on the job site. 3. Quality - miscut stone and then tried to convince us that it was ok and told us about other imperfections in our house....or to "Cover up the mistake with a plant" lol. When we asked for the stone to be replaced at their cost, they said it was too late and that they would provide a discount instead. They do not value quality or service. 4. While we were negotiating a final price (based on contractor error) they filed a lien on our property.... before the work was even complete. Horrible ethics. After payment in full, still didnt complete the work. and we do not want them to come back in our home after this experience. I highly recommend finding a reputable contractor to work with on your renovation. read more

Hired them to demo my bathroom. It involved a tub and vanity removal with complete tile removal; $2350. Guys showed up with only a hammer and craw bar. Six hour into the removal I asked; What are you guys doing and how long is this going to take? (note it would take them 4 days at this rate) I called the company about it and received no answer, called the Forman got no answer and I could not communicate with the workers because of a language issue. With that said I gave them my power tool to do the job they removed the tile in 6 hours yet left the cement board attached. Asked the company about the cement board and if they can tile over. They said NO. Then I asked for quotes on the tile. Flash forward 12 Days, got the quote and it was extremely high so I decided to not do it. AT that point I asked them since the demo included cement board and I rented the guys my tools so What is the new price? Considering that the company breached the contract I offered them a fair price to compensate the work completed, he replied with NO you pay me $2350 or I will sue you. Going as far to tell me it cost them 1000$ of garbage. During the whole process the quote was shady (done over text) , work was shady and incomplete and most important communication was AWFUL!!!!! I would completely avoid them unless you prepare yourself to get taken advantage, have awful communication and have mid to lower level work done. read more

I have now used Exquisite for 2 more jobs & wanted to update my review: On 6/25/13 I had another counter top installed by them which I was able to select the materials from their supply - the job went smoothly & the customer service was top notch. On 7/8/13 I had them reseal all my natural stone counter tops, as well as repair grout & reseal my showers. This crew was also polite, professional & detail oriented. These guys continue to impress me & I am very happy to have found them. I highly recommend them you will get honest advice, great customer service & a wonderful finished product. I had Exquisite Services install new tops in my Kitchen, Masterbath and Hall Bathroom with a very tight timeline. Ira, Anna and the installers did not disappoint. I have recommended Exquisite Services to all my real estate clients and all have been exceptionally happy. This time I needed the tops for my personal home. They were so accommodating and helped manage the process from start to finish. This was an extremely difficult install and made everything so easy. The kitchen top had to be seemed because of the size of the granite. What an amazing job, you cannot even see the seem. We just completed a total master bathroom remodel. It's an average sized bathroom and we wanted to maximize the space. -Installed a pocket door -Removed the standard / smallish Jacuzzi that was never used -Replaced it with a luxurious walk-in shower with a rain head and hand held spray, bench and built in shelves Anna and Ira the owners were AWESOME. While we had definite ideas of what we wanted, they gently guided us so we made the best decisions for layout, materials and design elements. Our project leader Miguel was outstanding. We just had our granite counter top installed today and I am thrilled! We finished our basement in a new home and included a wet bar. The new granite top really is my favorite aspect of the whole space - it is beautiful! I am giving Exquisite Granite 5 -stars because I literally don't have a single complaint and want to highly recommend them to others. Even with our small 14 sq ft job, they far exceeded our expectations. Many other companies gave us the cold shoulder because we weren't spending tens of thousands of dollars with them. But Exquisite was courteous, professional, fairly priced and had an excellent selection of stones. From the moment I called to inquire about their services, to the selection process, to the installation...every single person was beyond friendly and someone I would continue doing business with. It's obvious in working with them that they love what they do. They kept calling their work "art"...they even went so far as to precisely line up the natural stone's veins in the counter top with the back splash, so it looks like the stone's character/movement is one consistent piece of stone, created to fit my space. It really is beautiful and I doubt that some of the 'big guys' would take the time to care about that small of a detail. I just wish I needed more granite in the house now, so I could work with them on another project! read more

I already had a granite kitchen counter, but I wanted to put in a much larger undermount sink than was currently there. I called 5 different installers and the only installer that would even contemplate doing the job was Exquisite. The owner, Ira, said there is definitely a chance of the granite cracking when the cut-out for the new sink is made. Not to mention the fact that cutting granite in the house would be very dusty. Ira came to our house 3 times to discuss the process with us. The first time was to find out what we wanted and to let us know if it was possible and to give us an estimated cost. The second time was to discuss it further once we had a couple of sinks in mind. We realized that we needed to have a a Plan A and a Plan B. Plan A was to be a Kohler undermount basin sink, if the granite did not cracked. Plan B was a Kohler top mount apron front sink if the granite in front of the sink cracked when they cut it (since that piece would have to come out anyway for an apron front sink). We kept our fingers crossed that Plan A worked. Thankfully, everything went so smoothly. First, a couple of their guys came to remove all the plumbing and the old sink. Everything in my kitchen was covered with plastic, and they also made a little "ceiling to floor tent" that contained the workers who were cutting the granite (and vacuuming the dust as the cutting was done), so there was really minimal dust for me to clean. Ira was there helping the entire time. We got our Plan A sink, since they did an awesome, careful job. The polished cut edges were nice and straight. Everything fit great. They could have put all the new plumbing in for an additional charge, but we had someone else do that for us. This company also did the granite work in one of our bathrooms, so we knew they were professionals. I would highly recommend them. Prior to using Exquisite, I've had 2 other companies to do granite work in my house. Unfortunately, I've run out of places I need granite, but if I did, I'd definitely use them again. read more

We had a great experience with Ira and the whole team. They came out last year to install granite in our kitchen. Everything turned out very well and was exactly the way we requested. Just this past week we realized we had chipped the edge of the counter. Ira came to check it out and they were able to fix it for a very reasonable price. You can hardly tell there was a chip where they patched it. We will definitely use them again should we have the need and we recommend them to all our family and friends. read more

A bathroom remodeler referred me to Exquisite Marble and Granite in LIbertyville. We needed new bathroom countertops and bowls. Ken Kass, the owner, may be a good fabricator but he scores zero in customer relations. Ken wanted to come over right to see my bathrooms. After a glance at them, he made a beeline for my kitchen countertop which was installed by another firm.He grilled me on which fabricator made it and who installed it, etc. etc . He said he really liked the look and hadn't seen that particular product. I was willing to travel to his shop and see what products were available. When I got there, he had only one quartz slab that had the cream color we wanted. It was outside on a rack of slabs. I couldn;t see the surface, as it was pushed in on the rack sandwiched in between other slabs. He got annoyed when I asked him to pull it out so I could see more surface. All of his slabs were pushed in like that one, so they could not be viewed. except for a small corner... Instead of working with me, he complained that other customers could see the slabs just fine and why was I asking to see more of the surface. His attitude sucked. Then he said if he had to order more slabs from samples inside the store, I'd have to pay $3000.00 per countertop for the extra piece of slab not used for my job! At that point I walked out. My wife and I looked at two other places for granite counter tops and island. But once we sat down and started talking with Anna we knew this was the right place for us. Anna was very friendly, knowledgable and made sure to answer all our questions as well as concerns. She walked us through their facility to compare our paint colors to the granite stones to choose from. She did not pressure us to buy the more expensive pieces just educated us on the differences. Their pricing was very fair. Ira came out to to do the measurements and drawing. He was very personable and easy to work with. Do NOT do business here if you want your project done properly! We spent nearly $3000 on a high end quartz countertop for a small wet bar and a remnant piece for a bathroom vanity top. I stressed to Ira when he came to measure that we wanted the bar countertop as close to the walls as possible (there is a wall on both sides of the bar) and gouge into the sheetrock if needed because we wanted no gaps and walls are rarely perfectly straight. He agreed and assured me there would be no gaps. There was a quarter inch gap on the right that the installers filled with caulk! We called and complained. Ira initially seemed concerned. He came over to look at it and admitted he'd made a mistake when he mapped it out. He told us they could fill it in with an epoxy material and polish it so it would look just like the quartz. We were ok with that. A week later, they did that and it looked horrible; worse than the caulk. He knew it looked bad and assured us he'd be back for one more step and it would look great. I thought that meant they'd polish it more. Another week later, he showed up with 2 one inch tall pieces of quartz to glue on and cover up the gap on each side. This was NOT what we had discussed! It does not look very good and not like a professional job; a bit like a patchwork quilt. He said many times he wanted us to be happy and what would make us happy. We felt there should be a discount for the shoddy work. I would have been happy to pay the full price if they completely redid the job. We told him we'd settle for just covering his cost. He wouldn't discuss that. I calmly told him it would make me happy to not pay more than the 50% deposit we'd already paid at which point he flipped out, began shouting at me and told me he'd take us to court, they'd put a lien on our house and he'd get all of his money!! What?? Don't ask what would make a customer happy if you can't handle the answer. At that point, I wasn't comfortable with this person in my house, my husband and he agreed on a 25% discount, and he left. A week later we got a bill with only a 10% discount. We paid it just to be done with the whole mess. Disgusting to see a company get away with incompetent work and horrible service. Go elsewhere! ( We used Stone Habitat in Mundelein for our master bathroom which also had a wall against either side of the counter top and had no gaps, no problem. THEY know what they're doing.) read more
