I am behind on writing this review, which I actually think is a good thing because, now a month after my 2nd visit I can say with even more certainty that my experience and results are most excellent. This was my first time trying this type of treatment. I was impressed with the responsiveness, professionalism and (because I have some secondary medical issues) how concerned the entire team was about making sure I was comfortable and all my questions were answered completely. I will not hesitate to go back to Expressions again! It is obvious that the entire team cares about the clients they serve and are willing to go the extra mile. They did make product recommendations for me, but I never felt extra pressure to buy anything. In fact, they were super flexible and even encouraged me to be conservative. The team took great care not to over treat me and to throughly explain the process well. Is this spa the most luxurious place you'll ever visit for care? My friend Susan and I went on our "Hooha Hooray" road trip to Rosemount for a lovely date of laser hair removal. I bought the Groupon deal for this so I was saving money AND actually getting a deal I wanted. The whole ordeal was like a mini comedy show..I only wish I caught it on video..well not the hooha part ;) Kathy was the woman who started me on my road to a partially hairless body. (Note to the reader: Please don't think I am this ape girl covered in hair...I am Italian but it is not braided under my arms.) Kathy has worked at the clinic for 27 years and is extremely knowledgeable at her job. She is a certified laser user and actually took a few physics classes which many who are in this business do not do. The whole process of the underarms and hooha took about 30 minutes and was not too painful. It is not at all what I expected...I was thinking this laser probe deal coming at me with shooting beams. It was a fancy oval like deal that was moved around to zap that unwanted hair right from my body! It feels like you are being snapped by a rubber band...more annoying than painful. I have two sessions left before I will notice the difference. Every single person who works at Expressions, MD are friendly and welcoming. They have so many different things they can do at Expressions including facials, microdermabrasion and body sculpting. When you think Rosemount you might think it is too far to go for a service like this but I guarantee you will be most pleased with everything about this place. They can be a little pricier then other places but you get what you pay for here. With the Dr. on premises (not supposedly just overseeing as many do) to do the actual work, you know it's done right. They take their time, talk to you they give you the pros and cons of every procedure. I'm always happy with my results no matter what I do here. read more

I have been going here for years and I wouldn't think about going anywhere else! I do not do reviews on anything unless it's over and above my expectations. I cannot live without the entire staff here! Customer service is superior to anywhere else. I am in the beauty industry myself so I tend to be pretty picky and I have never been let down. This office has a high standard for professionalism and getting it right. The doctor actually does the injections (not so common) under the careful eye of Kathy. They are very cautious (wonderful) and safety is a top concern. There are other places in town where various staff with limited training do the injections. They were friendly, confidential, professional, sensitive to my concerns, and helpful with credits that help bring the price down from the manufacturer. I don't have an income to afford this as frequently as I would like but I have passed up specials and Groupons to other places as my face and how it looks are very important to me. I can not recommend them highly enough as they understand esthetics with placement of injections so there is a flawless, natural look of youth as opposed to some experiences you see that have gone wrong from other less skilled providers. I went in for a consultation because I had heard positive things about them from an Esthetician. I am also an Esthetician so I have been shopping around for juvederm service. Lynn was very informative and gave me price. I came in for service an dr glen and Kathy worked together to place filler in the right places while making me feel comfortable and even had fun!! I went back next day for a recheck and got a little botox too. All went well. They listened to my desire to have a natural look. I came in for my Botox fill of fifteen Units which I purchased from Living Social on-line. The deal says you have to use it for the brow area only, or between the eyes. My experience was interesting and I could see the writing on the wall. They scheduled me an hour which I thought was ridiculous for three minutes of injections. But I understand why after I was there. Firsf, Coming in the staff was pleasant. I was given the necessary paperwork to fill out; more questions than any other office I've visited to have this done. I finally got in a room with a woman who sat with me & critiqued my face. Pointed out what I should have done extra besides the prepaid, & future treatments. The doctor walked in a few times, never knocked and stood there. I thought it was a little weird to bolt in and just stand there. I asked the woman I met with if she was a nurse. I think she took offense to it as she was a medical assistant. Everyone I've gone to in the past has been an RN. I was taken to the room next door and was seated with a mirror. The doctor walked in again & introduced himself this time. They were both calculating the extra units of botox & writing it down, assuming I was going to have it without asking me. Yes, the assumptive sales close. Having Botox many times and having a bad experience with one doctor where I got "No Results" I have learned to make sure what I get that day is effective and I get results. So I do not buy any additional at the same sitting. I told them I was not interested in any more and came for what I paid for. It was dead silent. I let them know I had a bad experience & they said I got bad Botox from Canada. Like I should trust what they Sell, & know how it is mixed. They said the company Allergan, makes them use the promo units of 15 I bought between the eyes. Any additional I buy at their price. I wasn't interested in more, plus they didn't ask me which was rude. They pissed themselves off. So, I see they marketed themselves forcing you to use the units prepaid in one area; in hopes of selling more at the higher price & assuming you'll fall for it. They don't care about you!! You are a number there. I'm not interested in looking 25, I just don't want to look mad all the time. Be careful when you buy Groupons or any other deals out there. Make sure they are creditable and not trying to Scam you. read more

I have been visiting Expressions MD for about 4 years. When I began seeing Dr. Detlefsen I was living in Rosemount. I LOVE this office, and everyone in it. I have had microdermabrasions, facials, chemical peels, and laser peels. The staff are wonderful; Kathy has the best critical eye, Lynn is knowledgeable and awsome. I am very careful in how I spend my "beauty" dollars, and let me say they have always made sure that I am receiving the best servce for my money. My skin looks fabulous, and I constantly receive comments on it! By the way, I now live in Golden Valley and still travel to Rosemount for Dr Detlefsen, Kathy & Lynn. read more
