I have been coming to this salon since they opened and love the cleanliness and the family! They fit me in when I call due to my schedule, and always courteous and kind! And when I can't seem to make up my mind on a color, they always find something that I like . My first experience here was amazing. My second experience was absolute garbage. Just like the first time, I wanted a basic manicure (with the exception of having some gel removed). Here's where it went wrong: 1. The manicurist didn't understand English. She cut my nails super short and squared. The manicurist next to her translated to her what shape I wanted (BUT IT WAS ALREADY TOO SHORT). 2. She told me my nails/hands/skin was super dry and wanted to selle an $8 package to "moisturize". Fine. Whatever. She starts squirting cuticle oil all over my hands and rubbing it. She sees oil getting on my jacket sleeves. She realizes that my sleeves don't roll up easily. She proceeded to try to help me get off my jacket with her oil-covered hands. 3. She rinses off her tools after using them on me and places them back into a "sterile" bag. 4. I notice hives popping up on my arm and I show her. She rolls my sleeves down and continues doing a manicure. This is NOT how you should treat an allergic reaction. 5. After painting my nails, she tells me to wait 5 minutes and I can leave. She disappears and I sit there for an extra 10 minutes. My nails were not dry per the timeline she had given me. 6. The manager had me come back in hopes that we could resolve the issue but instead just accused me of grifting her. ** I called the manager about my terrible experience; she asked me to come back (which I did). Upon arrival, the manager accused me of putting oil on my jacket and the manicurist said I walked out with my jacket on (I kept it off to avoid getting oil on my other clothes). Apparently they don't use cuticle oil. Only paraffin oil. I explained that I was not there for a refund. I only wanted cleaning instructions on how to remove the oil from my jacket. The manager was very combative and accusatory telling me that I probably messed my jacket up by, "sitting in places in the city". The manager then told me how little money they charged for services and said she'd give me my money back and pay for the dry cleaning but it was clearly my fault that my $150 jacket had oil spots. I'm never coming back to Expression Nail Spa again. read more

I agree with the other reviewer, this place seemed clean and the staff was very friendly, even gave me a nice pen on the way out. The technician did a pretty job on my pedicure. However, the reason I gave it three stars is the nail polish selection. They have very few OPI colors and what they did have seemed very old and thinned out. I think they add the polish thinner to last longer and as such, the polish did not stay on my nails for very long; it chipped off quickly. The non-OPI colors were some brand I had never heard of, and they weren't great colors. I did not see any Essie. Additionally, it was completely dead in there, not a soul, and it is in a bad location, in a run-down strip mall, that's a little tricky to find. It's technically on a side street, not W. Salon was clean and inviting. Staff was very friendly. My pedicure technician was very careful and thorough. And, a basic pedicure was only $20! I'm not sure why this place hasn't gotten reviews before though it is in a somewhat small, unattractive shopping center. read more

I didn't have a good experience here. The gentleman who did my "manicure" let my nails soak for approximately 5 seconds before tugging at my cuticles with a dull cuticle clipper. He cut one of them so badly I had to wear a bandaid. My cuticles looked worse than when I went in! He also didn't use any cuticle oil or lotion of any kind. The massage chairs are older and don't have very many settings, so if you don't like the way it feels, your only option is to turn it off. The polish on both my fingers toes was layered on so thick that I had a smudge on my toenail 5 HOURS after I left and the polish on my fingers peeled off after one shower. I used to love this place. The staff was awesome and always did an awesome job for a reasonable price on my nails. I would pedicures all the time while I was pregnant here. It wasn't until after my pregnancy when I was able to see and do my own toe nails that I realized I had fungus on my toe nails. Prior to getting my toes done here, I had taken exceptionally well care of my own. I'd have friends asking me where I got them done. I thought this place was clean but when I sit back and think of it, they never use new tools and "clean" tools by dipping it in the water and shaking it out and spraying the feet with alcohol. It makes me really sad to know that the cause of the issue I had was due to the lack of proper cleaning and fresh tools. Since my experience I have been so skeptical about going anywhere to get my nails done. So- my advice- read the reviews. Fingernail wise- they aren't as skilled as I'd like them to be...they seemed to always get polish outside my nail. It's like ending a great relationship and finding out you SO was lying to you the whole time...so bittersweet read more

I have been getting my nails done for decades so I consider my self an expert. This place is TOP NOTCH. I have been a loyal customer since they opened. They are clean, caring, and completely up to date with the latest trends. The pedicure chairs are awesome! The pedicures are so relaxing. The area has plenty of free parking. The prices are more than fair. I for one prefer to give my hard earned money to a family rather than a huge corporate chain. They even have bottled water for clients and wifi. This is the best place to go for any and all of your nail,waxing, and facial needs.
