We had a great experience with Matt Construction. Every day they arrived and carefully laid down…read morepaper so that they wouldn't mark up the floor and then carefully took it up at the end of the day, really worked hard to make the house as livable as possible for us while the work was going on. The on-site manager, Jonathan, was great, and they gracefully and quickly responded to additional requests and changes of plans we requested, including entirely changing one of the windows. Even our neighbor reached out to tell us how nice and respectful they were and asked us how we found them. The answer is that I just saw that they were well-reviewed on Yelp, so I'm adding my review here too. Their pricing was very reasonable, and their work was exceptional. They replaced a shower system, which involved breaking existing tile and seamlessly re-tiling the affected section after the new shower was installed. During the process, they covered the opening with plastic so we could continue using the shower (even though it only took a couple of days). The re-tiled area blends perfectly with the rest of the shower (see attached pic). You'd never know it was repaired. They also repaired significant water damage from burst pipes, replacing and adding insulation and drywall, installed recessed lighting with dimmers, replaced a window and glass shower doors, swapped out an awkward set of swinging bathroom doors for a proper door, and took care of several long-overdue household repairs. Everything was completed quickly, quietly, and efficiently. If we ever need renovations in the future, we'll definitely be using them again.

Ran through the standard procedure of getting multiple quotes etc. Afranio from Dovale Construction submitted a quote that was almost 30-50% lower and he helped me pick out the appropriate materials etc (fully transparent). He did not overpromise, told me clearly what will work and what will not - e.g., making sure the floor and ceiling are well insulated in our case along with the walls for effective sound proofing - he understood how the room will be used and provided very useful input. We replace all the windows, improved the insulation, installed new flooring and made it a great space. The best part, took half the time! Diego from Dovale Construction does a great job of wielding the tools to make it all come together. Afranio started on time and his crew is excellent. I thought that the usual contractor issues such as "can't come today", "the paint is drying so we wait", etc did not apply. You will not be disappointed with the promptness and quality of work.

The apartment has both cockroaches and mice, and no matter how many times I call, they refuse to hire a professional exterminator. Their maintenance people are not experts, and the problem isn't going away, but they've just ignored my repeated requests. On top of that, their payment policy is totally inflexible (no PayPal). Oh, and they're raising the rent next year. Be careful with this management company.
