They were going to rip off a single mother of 3. 700.00 to replace a hose? Oh, that's because the hoses come in packs of 2, even though Sharon needed 1 hose replaced, they were going to charge her for an extra part, that they were not going to use on her car. I know parts are expensive, but that's ridiculous. She told them that was too much and called around and M & S Auto's estimate was for 260.00. They recognized the dire need of a working Mom. They had compassion for her situation and helped her. They fixed her car in 20 minutes, instead of the Tuesday, originally stated. She had her car towed to Auto Repair Inc.1st. They did a diagnostic test on her car. They charged her 70.00 for that, and gave her the 700.00 estimate. When she wisely declined, she tried to pay the bill with her credit card over the phone. They refused to take payment over the phone, and refused to release her car to the towing company. She was sick, with 3 kids, I gave her a ride to the shop to pay in person. They made her wait around the desk, while the workers stood around, taking another customers info over the phone. One guy told her to quit asking questions. What type of men take advantage of a woman, who is obviously sick and struggling. Speak to her in a way that she comes out sobbing, at her wits end. SHAME ON YOU AUTO REPAIR INC. Here's the kicker.. the tire pressure sensor is still not fixed and neither is the radio. So here I am today bringing to back to get the tire sensor looked at again! My car's problem was occasional scraping from the left rear wheel when I stepped on the brakes. I…read morelooked around for a new auto repair shop since my previous one tried to bilk me. I found favorable ratings on-line for The Brake Shop. I arrived, they put the car on the rack, removed all wheels for inspection, and contrary to the previous diagnosis, found that only the brake pads on the l-r wheel wouldn't retract due to rust. The pads were munched--and only on that one wheel. Dan started to explain the parts, the symptoms, and so on until I told him I'm familiar with brakes and have changed quite a few. I was pleasantly surprised when he suggested it's something that I could do since I now knew the problem and how to correct it. (I was surprised since I, a former mechanic who had his own business, told my customers they could save money by doing the repairs themselves too--if I thought they were capable of it.) I merely told Dan that I'm out of the business and would rather pay to have it done. To sum up, the pads on the other three wheels were like new, no scoring/cuts in the discs/rotors. No other work was needed to be done except on that one wheel (unlike my original estimate). When all was finished, my bill was way, way less than Conrad's I just dumped. I drove away (with warranty) knowing that there's good reason The Brake Shop has been in business for almost 30 years. Dan and Diana didn't treat me as an expendable, hurried commodity. The Brake Shop just earned a new customer because of their goodwill and integrity. Definitely, I give The Brake Shop a five star rating.
