I have used two other mats in New Haven. I rank Express laundry below them for two reasons. 1. To use the laundry machines, you have to pay $2 for a reloadable (kind of like a store only gift card). Then...you have to load it with cash for a balance. Then...you can finally use the washers. Then... when you get to the dryers, you use the card again. The first laundry machine took my money off the card but failed to turn on. The attendant fixed it. But then the beverage machine ate more of my money. I was so frustrated at that point, I didn't even ask for the money back. Now, I'm stuck with this stupid card with a $12 balance that I can only use... you got it... at this laundry mat. If this process wasn't so convoluted I might actually recommend this place. read more

Quick and easy. Huge washers for big loads. Dryers actually get it done fast and don't make you spend a lot.

Small, but it's very clean. They have fans going so it's not too hot. The machines work well and I don't think they were expensive, but we don't live nearby so I can't compare it to other mats in the area. We were traveling through and needed to do laundry. read more

This laundromat is located near the highway on exit 5 (I 91 north) and is fine enough. Parking during peak hours is quite literally a nightmare, and they are very popular in fair haven. They have a tiny lot and cars park anyhow. Add to that it's on a busy street corner that people like to cut through and it's a recipe for a fender bender. They claim to be the only laundromat that cleans their machines with ozone which, ok. The machines themselves are about 3/5 on cleanliness. Card reader for the machines, you need 2 singles to buy a card and you get a one dollar bonus for every $20. The machines themselves are new and fast and a bit expensive. They like to advertise that the dryers are free. The dryers are "free" in that you get a credit based on the size of machine you used to wash your clothes. It therefore is always better to size up your machine than size down, because if you need more time you will pay more. I'm not actually sure if this business is related to laundry express. I saw a few laundry express bags in the pick up area, so if they are related businesses I would just drop off my laundry here and save some serious money. They have a lot of large machines if you need to wash household items so I recommend it for that and the dryers are VERY hot. Pre-covid I may have come here to do the bulk of my laundry but now I would only come to wash a comforter on like a Tuesday. Do not come on Wednesday, that is their 1/2 off washers day. The attendants here do not wear masks, wear them incorrectly (chin diapers galore) or only in view of patrons when they are in the laundry room cleaning. Once they go behind the desk they take them off. I didn't know the air here was also cleaned with ozone /s. Patrons don't always wear masks, while I was there a patron was having an argument on the phone, sans mask. Overall it's fine, aside from the mask issues. read more

Laundry: The Fast and the Furious. If you're not bogged down in towels, you can be in and out in about 40 minutes (19 to wash, 20 to dry). A towel-heavy load may need another 10 minutes for maximum fluffy joy. This is a laundromat that uses pre-paid cards, which initially confused me (as so much here does), and the nice man stepped in to straighten me out. You need a dollar bill to start and some cash to put on the card. DON'T PANIC at $4.09 for a wash in a double-load machine. The price includes 30 minutes of drying time, and it's unlikely you'll need more than 30 minutes. If you're taking out some clothes to drip dry, you will love these washing machines, as the clothes come out of the wash really thoroughly drained of water. As ambiance goes, it's on the utilitarian side, but it's not like you're settling in for a long stay (and it's still nicer than the nicest 'mat I ever went to in Phoenix). There is generous parking by East Rock standards. Be alert if you're parking: this place is on a corner lot, so occasionally aggressive drivers use the parking lot as a shortcut to skip the light when making a right turn. You may want to flip them off, but you don't want to back into them. This will be my go-to laundromat on the days when the most daunting aspect of doing laundry is devoting time to it. The perfect laundry service. Our drier broke and we had 2 weeks of laundry that needed to be done ASAP. We dropped it off for wash and fold and picked it up a few hours later. The sevice is terrible...Had 100 lbs of clothes to be washed folded and hung. Stood at the customer serivice desk for 10 minutes then walked the floor no employee to be found. Then knocked on the employee only doors no one answered. Preceded to call the on the phone no answer.. Totally uncalled for and a waste of my valuble time. They have great hours, helpful staff, clean machines and areas, and vending machines with detergent, bleach, softener, etc. Miriam can get any stains out with the wash and fold service, and the service is fast and honestly great. They have a small parking lot but there's usually spots later in the day. read more

Never felt more uncomfortable at a laundrymatt before I felt like the worker was speaking about me towards other costumers she was nice at first but I caught a glimpse of a look she gave me and the snickering with costumers. The reeking smell of cigars while she help me get a card. Very uncomfortable. Extreamly sorry. Wish everyone well read more

I zoomed in and out of Express Laundry and Drycleaning and couldn't be happier with the results. Connie helped set me up - using their card system which is pretty straightforward - and I was in and out in no time. It was the perfect quick laundry pit-stop for my speedy travels. Oh, they also have good free WiFi which meant that I actually got some real work (and play) done while the clothes rolled in the machines. I found it off Yelp and as I was trying to figure out the place, Connie stepped up and was super friendly & helped walk me through the process of getting my express card, picking a machine and getting detergent. Thanks Connie! They take credit/debit cards, have free wifi, and seem to have a lot of other services to offer I haven't discovered yet. I know where my new laundromat is! read more

Express laundry was a great deal. I used the wash-dry-fold service and it was just a tad more expensive than doing it myself (with coins) at the Wash Tub on Foster. It was really nice having extra time and coming back only once with my laundry already folded. read more

Brought some tuxedo pants and shirt here. Legit. $6.50 for pants, $2.50 for shirt, I think. The best part is the vending machines. $0.25 for a good amount of Mike n Ike's. Take me back. read more
