I first visited Bubble and Squeak when I was desperate to find a Greater New Haven area dry cleaner that was open Sundays, and this place fit the bill. Additionally, I quickly learned it was a convenient place for dry cleaning drop-off and pick-up; right off I-91 North exit 6, and back on I-91 South to where I was living in City Point. Dry cleaning isn't done on premises, but if you're ok with that they do a fine job. Whoever does the dry cleaning does well with the basics and clothes are clean and pressed inside plastic coverings until you get them. I have since been back and I wash my regular laundry here (for household items I go to Express Laundry, at least until I zero out my card). Machines are good and dryers are hot. The attendant wears a mask at all times, even when she's alone I see her folding clothing with her mask on whenever I walk by. Patrons are good about distancing and wearing masks which is more than I can say for... every other laundromat I have been to recently. Street parking and a tiny lot next door on Foster. Bubble and Squeak is fine if you do your own laundry. I come here every few weeks or so and like getting all my loads done at once. They have a card you can put money on, and if you put $20 they'll give you a $1 bonus. To wash/dry 3 small and 1 medium loads usually costs a little under $20. It costs double for them to wash, dry, and fold it for you. I tried it once, but my clothes did not have a laundry fresh scent, and one of my towels looked like it got chewed up by a dog. read more

Let me start by saying 1) I hate laundromats. I'm still kind of bitter that that the washer in my building completely blows. I don't think it spins or something & management doesn't seem to care... not excited about not so clean clothes, enter laundromat trip. Which I hate, the whole annoyance of packing everything up to site in a weird place with a bunch both other people's laundry... but I digress. The machines here aren't the newest on the block, but they are well maintained and work well. There were several marked out of order, but whatever. I also like that they have some giant washers and dryers, so when I have a mountain of clothes that fills have my car to wash I can get it done quick here. My clothes were clean & fresh smelling. I am happy. Heads up they use a little card reader to pay, but it only takes cash to load the card. They have an atm, but not sure what the fee is on it since I randomly had some cash. Prices are reasonable & they will match any place in the area if you have proof they are cheaper. If you must hoof it to a laundromat, the bubble and squeak is where it's at! read more

Okay. Im going to start and say that I am not the biggest fan of laundromats. Not because of their cleanliness or overcrowded-ness but simply because I hate the inconvenience of not having a washer and dryer in my home. Now, I'm a mom to a 2 year old and a wife to a very messy man. I take my laundry seriously for those two reasons. The bubble and squeak on Willow was recommended to use by a friend who lives in East Rock. The first time we went, the owner of the laundromat helped me take my laundry inside, helped me get my card set up, and helped me sooth a crying babe while I shoved laundry into the washer. Every single time I've gone to this laundromat they've been so kind and very professional. When it comes to the machines, I would give it a 3 out of 5 stars. They are definitely dated and could use a few more larger washing machines, however their machines have never once ruined any article of clothing. Between the kindness of the staff, the price for the wash/dry, and the location itself, I would give the Willow street location a 4 out of 5 stars! read more

We went here to do laundry armed with quarters, cash and credit cards not knowing what to expect. We realized that you need to purchase a card ($2) and put money on it to use the machines. However we did not have ones and the machine said it will only accept two $1 to buy the card. Unfortunately the change machine was broken (as were a few of the machines). To top it all off we were there for maybe half and hour but there was no attendant or workers in sight so we left. If it were made clear what we needed to bring money wise maybe this could have worked but it appears you need cash only and exactly $2 for a new card. read more

This place is okay if you are doing your own laundry. However, if you are dropping off laundry for them to wash/dry/fold, I would avoid it. There used to be an Albanian woman here who was absolutely amazing and did such a great job, but it seems as though she stopped working there over a year ago. I need to find out where she works now! This is the best place to do laundry in East Rock. It's cheaper than the Wash Tub, and has all front-loading washers which is different than the Wash Tub. I did my laundry here with ease for 5 months when I first moved to New Haven. read more

Here is an update: I was eventually contacted by the owner and we made a settlement to replace the value of my lost items. He was friendly and reasonable, although I am still a little frustrated by the huge inconvenience. I hope this incidence is an aberration. I've been doing my laundry here for a while and am pretty happy with it. Prices are good, the laundry card is convenient and they have a good selection of machine sizes. It's open late enough that you can stop by after work. They have wifi too, which I didn't realize for a while- the password is on a sign taped to the card machine. Only real downside is that it gets quite hot in the summer, and it's a little cramped- they fit a lot of machines into a small space. Can't comment on their other services. I've done drop-off a few times with no complaints, but haven't had anything dry-cleaned here. read more

Unlike other Yelpers, I am a huge fan of laundromats! All the things you don't want or cannot wash in your home machines can be brought here! I had seat covers from my vehicle that needed cleaning and decided to get them all done at once rather than have them going all day at home. Some of the smaller machines may take coins directly, but at least the bigger machines I used only take the pay-card. To obtain this card you must use $2 in singles and put in a machine. Once you get that card, you put it back in the machine and put in more cash to top it up. You can then use it to purchase washing and drying accessories like detergent and fabric softener and in the machines. I had $2 in singles and a $20. I bought the pay card and because I put it a $20 was given an additional $1 credit on my card for a total of $21. So I paid $1 for the card. I paid 55 cents for some detergent. The large front-loader washing machine was $5.75 and took 35 minutes. I didn't use the dryers, but they have plenty of them. If there are many people doing laundry and they're all inside this place would definitely feel cramped! The lady working here was very friendly and helpful! I wouldn't hesitate to come here for wash and fold laundry service, and apparently they pick up and deliver! Pro Tip: Put your laundry in the washing machines and go across the street to One 6 Three The Pizza Joint for some grub! read more

Had a bad experience here with my dry cleaning here. Two things, first the dog hair on my suit was not removed. Second, the hem in my wife's skirt was damaged by the cleaning process. Both were very annoying because we did not check the garments until right before we needed to use them. I'll be shopping elsewhere in the future. read more

I have been going here for 4 years now and have never been very impressed but continued to use them for the ease of it's location. This alone allowed me to overlook that they do not use hot water and machines are constantly breaking. In the past there have been scenarios when the employees were less than helpful but most recently I was extremely turned off when I realized their card machines used for payment on the machines were stealing from my card. When I brought it to the attention of the employee working he insisted that I was lying to him and wouldn't believe my math and called me a liar. I am not strapped for cash that I need to worry about $4 but if it is happening to everyone it needs to be fixed. I then gave my name, number, and information to him to pass on to the owner and I have not received a call. I will now be taking my business elsewhere along with everyone else I can in the area. read more

Love Bubble & Squeak! We launder our dogs bed every 4 weeks and just love the cleanliness of the bed and the staff, it is always done in a timely manner and looks like new when we pick it up. Our doggie LOVES her clean bed too! Also use for dry-cleaning on special occasions and have had excellent results. read more

I always do my own laundry here, so I can't speak to their wash/dry services, but I really like this place. It's clean, it's open late, the woman at the desk is always friendly and helpful, you can get in and out quickly, and I've never had trouble with any of the machines.
