You do still need to set up an appointment if you need services and COVID-19 now a thing of the past, mind you... So , being a 74 y.o. healthy but frail woman in a desperate hope of requesting a replacement of my non-driver ID, since the not expired and in very good shape one I had it's now considered lost after no longer found inside my purse after a visit to a doctor's office located in one of the local city hospitals, I drag myself into the cold weather this morning, board a crowded #1 train headed to the West 30th location wasting my time and fare money to learn the ridiculous news: yes, ma'am, you cannot expect to find any window serving seniors, and the 'EXPRESS' part of the branch''s title is just a 'name', curiously in English language, I believe, uhh....!? What is going so wrong with this city, where literally every public service has been worse than in most of the called '3rd world' countries? Shame on all of you NY state residents for not posting reviews of any and all of your low quality experiences with such matters. Our motto must be now: "all ways expect the worse even when paying costs for the best." Come on, would you please give us a well deserved and long due break, dear authorities!!!? Due to Covid, the earliest in-person appt at DMV was approx 6 weeks away. I found this place online, called to confirm that I could get a registration and plates and was on my way. I waited about 5 minutes to get inside and once inside, I was done in less than 10 minutes. Registration and plates in hand. $75 service fee is well worth not having to deal with going to DMV. I called this office Monday afternoon to see if I could get license plates for my new purchased motorcycle and they said come over and they told me they would be able to process this transaction for 75+ DMVs normal fees. The only reason I considered this location was because the DMV was running limited in person transactions. I arrived at this location at 1pm way before the posted closing times and they said they are no longer taking customers after 12pm. 12PM?! Midday..? How do you guys make money.. I literally wasted my time with this office to think I was going to cost my self more money by using a 3rd party DMV source. In the end I went back to the actual DMV and dropped off my title and vehicle application .. and within 2 hours I checked the DMV site.. my transaction was completed and my motorcycle was register. Could not have had a smoother experience with these guys. Literally a 10 minute (maybe even less) process of registering a used car I just purchased. For the cost of $105 (on top of DMV fees I would've had to pay anyway), I walked out of there with new license plates and a full-blown (not temporary) registration. No making an appointment at DMV. No waiting in lines. No dealing with (always unhelpful) DMV employees. This was AMAZING! read more

If you have a more complicated or important matter you want to make sure gets done right, or you don't have time to wait around at the DMV, this is your place. Honestly the best! Eddie and his team were amazing. I was in a bit of complicated situation and Eddie answered every question with ease. The process was so simple. I also want to commend the woman dealing with the people outside. She had lots of people yelling at her but she stayed calm and collected the entire time. Eddie also answered a bunch of my questions was everything was done. Is the line a bit long, yes... But what do you expect? Does it cost a bit more, yes... But it's a business! Does it take some time to get your stuff.... Yes, but everything is messed during corona season. Truly an express service - thank you! I arrived at 10 AM and was out of there in five minutes after dropping off my paperwork. 24 hours later I had my plates on my car registration complete. I had called ahead and the person on the phone was polite and clear about how the service works. The day I arrived I was treated with courtesy and processed immediately. I would never use this business again. Be careful if you do. They made what they claim was an "honest mistake" that almost left me out more than $100. I'm going to tell the story, very evenly, with the paperwork at my side, so you can judge for yourself ... I used them to register a used car I'd just bought. Their original estimate: $1,084 ($1,009 for the DMV and $75 for their fee, with a $3 credit card surcharge -- those are common nowadays, so no problem there). My credit card info was sent to the DMV for the DMV to process, to cover their part of the charge ... I then get an email: "The registration came out to $126 more than estimated." So when I got to their office to pick up the new registration, they charged me $129 more on my credit card, plus the card fee ($3 more than the email, though that's not really the point of this story). So I start thinking about this and it seems weird: if the DMV has my card info, why doesn't it just take the $126 off my card? Why is Express DMV paying the shortfall? ... So you may have guessed: the DMV DID take the $126 off my card. PLUS Express DMV charged me for the shortfall. I discovered this when my credit card statement arrived, and was rather hot under the collar about being double-billed ... So I call them. I get a guy who identifies himself as "Joseph." At first he tries to defend what they did, by insisting the estimate came out to more than expected, but when I point out the illogic in his argument (I already paid the DMV that $126 difference), he changes his tune. So he says: They confused me with another customer, who had a similar name, and also a $126 additional charge. I was somewhat stunned by this explanation: I have an uncommon last name, and what are the odds that two guys with similar last names both happen to have a $126 extra charge at the same time? ... I was then promised that the money would be refunded right away. It was not, which I discovered the next month when I got my credit card statement. At this point, I'm pretty steamed. However, I was thankful to reach "Crystal" on 7:20 p.m. on Oct. 26, who straightened this out after telling me that the refund "fell through the cracks." Anyway she did the right thing, and I'm thankful for that. ... I've thought long and hard about what happened. "Joseph"'s explanation made no sense to me. And why would someone at Express DMV try to charge me for a shortfall anyway if that person already knows the DMV is going to, because they have my credit card info ... To be fair: Express DMV does work quickly and efficiently. But this incident shattered any kind of trust I would ever have in them. read more

This place is great!! I Needed to register and get plates same day. I wasnt sure what to expect so I texted to see if they could do same day plates. They texted back immediately that if my paperwork was in order, they could get it done. Arrived at 12 ish and just got in line outside (first come first serve). There were about 6 people in front of us, but they kept the line moving. The wait to get in was about 30-40 min (which is very reasonable when compared to DMV). I am very happy that I discovered this place! I went there today for assistance with a complicated title/ registration issue. Before I came in, I did not know how to go about resolving my issue and I dreaded going to the DMV. I was assisted promptly after I arrived. I worked with a very courteous and helpful gentleman who gave me direct and easy to understand advice and details on the procedure. He took my information and began to facilitate the process. The best part is I could go on my way and leave all the followups to him. I was literally in an out in five minutes! Problem resolved. So this Guy Eddie Marez is extremely unprofessional I went there on 10/10/19 to get my title changed a week later it was denied but he had asked me to contact whomever I had bought the car from. On 10/23 the original owners sent their NY state to Eddie and he acknowledged he had got it thru TM. Today 11/23 called Eddie and now excuses starts to pour in saying all sort of nonsenses. This guy obviously does not know how to run a proper DMV express becos it has been a month and still nothing has been done about it....no word, just endless calls and me patiently waiting. Word of advice to people who plan to go there do not go there this guy does not know what the hell he is doing...but I will tell u one thing he did not hesitate in taking my money thru chase quick pay but I guess that should have warned me then and there that this guy is not legit read more
